Riviera Maya Suites

"Very nice hotel. 2 1/2 years ago I was there but it's still positive in my mind. There was no german speaking diving station when I was there but a great service who brought us to one in another area where we could also do cenotes diving. That was really nice because my little brother (16 at this time) wasn't so advanced. There were also good offers of some trips to the Maya ruins and interesting places in Yucatan. We had some little problems with our door lock and some other little defects but the service was good and they could repair it very fast. Nice Pool and a good offer of host and water sports activitys. I also liked the all inclusive cocktails and the buffets. I was a little bit disappointed that there was not so much typical mexican food but you got a voucher for the own mexican (I think you could choose between mexican and italian restaurant) restaurant. I already was in Playa del Carmen 2002 in an Iberostar Hotel which I would prefer if I would go there for a third time but if its cheaper or for another reason Riviera Maya would be my second choice ;)"

Beautiful, clean, spacious condo rental - can walk 5th ave no problem
"After a hotel mix up, we walked down the beach to find a nice place to stay - we found that the further north you go, the newer/nicer the hotels & condos generally get. We stopped in at Riviera Maya to check prices and see a room - we were not disappointed and booked immediately. The most relaxing week of our lives - the incredible jungle garden walk through the Las Palapas property was so lush and green, then the beach had shaded straw umbrellas to keep you cool. Wonderful, highly recommended. Simona helped us sort our mixup with our original hotel and saved us a pile of $$$. Would stay there again for sure."

Our Perfect Oasis
"We have stayed at many resorts around Playa and believe we have found our perfect paradise. In fact, never before have we planned on returning to the same hotel. I wasn't sure if we would like staying at a condo-hotel since we are used to staying at 5 star all-inclusive type resorts. I am so glad we took the leap. Sure you don't have the over-the-top fancy decor, humongous pool, or the 24 hour room service of an all-inclusive. Instead you get a balcony that's big enough to hold a table with four chairs, two cushioned lounge chairs and a hammock , a charming pool area, and a spacious condo - I have yet to see an all inclusive with this much room. The beauty of a condo-hotel is that you get the amenities of a condo, with the benefits of having daily maid service, security personnel, and helpful staff in the reception area. We rented a 2 bedroom Penthouse which had excellent views from the Master Bedroom and the Living Room both of which walk out to the balcony. We were just above the tree-tops of a small jungle area with views of the caribbean beyond. We saw some cool wildlife from that location, beautiful birds, and a cute coati (from the raccoon family). The rooms are spacious with roomy closets and a safe, and each bedroom has it's own bathroom. There is also a laundry room with washer, dryer, ironing board and soap etc included. The kitchen included a fridge/freezer, electric stove-top, blender, toaster and microwave. Dishes, pots and pans etc were provided as well. This was nice to have as we loved to mix up some guacamole and a batch of Pina coladas, and lounge on the balcony for a while before strolling into town to enjoy one of the many wonderful restaurants for dinner. We love the location as well. It is on the north end of Playa, just past all of the noise of 5th avenue so it was typically nice and quiet. One other nice feature is that the hotel is currently able to share the amenities of the Hotel Las Palapas which has an excellent beach area. One other fun feature of the Riviera Maya Suites, is the rooftop sun deck which has nice chairs for laying in the sun, and pergolas to get some shade. We heard that they might be adding a jacuzzi and a grill which would make this the perfect rooftop getaway! As with anywhere we have gone, there is always room for some improvements, although we found them to be very minor. For example, there is no clock/radio in the bedrooms. The TV could have been a little bigger and a dvd player would be a nice addition. A small stereo with MP3 hookup would have been nice to have as well. But, these factors did not diminish our overall impression and we look forward to returning soon."

Beautiful location, excellent service, we will be back
"We had a wonderful time!!! This was a family vacation including small grandkids and it met our needs very well. Somewhat hard to find initially, but worth the effort. We had one maintenance problem with a shower, but it was immediately addressed. Staff was extremely helpful (including recommendations about restaurants, etc) The beds are a little hard, but the overall experience overshadows. The web site claims a few steps to the beach and it is more like a short walk. The walk is, however, absolutely beautiful so it feels like a few steps. The grounds are wonderfully landscaped with mature plants. The location is excellent. Walking distance to everything. We will be back assuming management is still the same."

"This is a great place, very spacious appartments (most of them with a fantastic ocean view) and only some meters away from the beach. Very helpful reception lady (e.g. trip advises, local restaurants). Will come back soon!"

We loved this place
"We loved this place, it was quiet and peaceful yet convienient for the activity in PDC. The grounds were wonderful we loved the wildlife, the birds lizards and coati's. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The view from the third floor was spectacular with the lights of Cozumel visible at night. Beach music went off early. if your looking for peace and quiet this is hard to beat, but like anywhere quiet is very dependant on the other guests."

"We took our family of 5 over Christmas to Playa del Carmen for vacation. Kids ages were 21, 18 and 15. We all had a fabulous time. Riviera Maya Suites suited us perfectly, as we had plenty of space for all of us. We had a king bed and 2 doubles, plus 2 full bathrooms, and a kitchen, so we were able to have snacks and even a few meals when we felt like it! We were within walking distance to an excellent beach, as well as walking distance to 5th Avenue, where you could shop almost all night! We had the best of both worlds!! The people were so great there. Simona and Franchesco at the offices were the best - they were sooo very helpful, and such wonderful people. Everything was very clean, and very beautiful. Also, we felt very safe. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We will love to go back there some day, and would recommend this to anyone - for adults; families with small children, and familes with older children. Thank you!!!"
