"My fiancé and I had the most fantastic holiday at the Paraiso Beach Hotel, which only opened a year ago. The staff made us feel like family in the most impressive surroundings.
Our room was so lovely with great facilities and breathtaking balcony views.
The entertainment was great, especially Juanma, who sings amazing Spanish and English!
The restaurant food was first class with a great variety. What we liked most about this hotel was the tranquillity and the friendliness of everyone, especially Juan Antonio and Marianne, they are the most professional people we have ever met whilst making us feel so special, nothing was ever too much trouble.
We never needed any Thomson rep assistance as we had all we needed from the hotel staff who consistently strived to please! We cannot wait to book this fabulous hotel again and we would recommend it to anyone thinking of a luxurious get away.
We have previously stayed at Thomson gold properties but this hotel definitely beats any hotel we have stayed in.
A first class hotel with first class staff and we cannot wait to book again soon!"

"Paraiso was a great place to stay and relax. They have gone all the way to make us really enjoy our holiday. The new beach bar adds a lot to the fun as well. The cabanas are almost on the beach which was nice too.
Paraiso has a fresh sea food restaurant and an excellent chef who is very creative in her kitchen. We made snorkeling trips and went diving.
The reefs a pretty much unspoiled and you can see manta rays and nurse sharks.

"This hotel is amazing, almost all the reviews we read before we went were positive and this hotel exceeds expectations. The staff cannot do enough for you and there are 5 a la carte restaurants which you can book in advance when you get there. I did get ill on the second day but the on site clinic was amazing.
Make sure you get holiday insurance though as treatment can be quite expensive. We went through Thomas Cook and the rep we had was very helpful, she went through all the trips and would arrange any additional trips out for you when possible if you wanted a night out in Cancun for example. The hotel is clean and the room sizes are large. There are shallow rivers all around the walkways with fish and birds in and peacocks walking around. Okay the peacocks were a bit noisy at night but generally none of the animals caused a nuisance of themselves.
The buffet food was very nice and if you do get bored of that there is a taco bar at night and other cafes as well as the a la cartes and the pool and beach side food places. This is definitely a place for families and honeymooners alike although itâs probably not the right atmosphere for a ladâs holiday or a stag do. The hotel is in a resort of 4 Iberostar hotels and the swimming facilities and restaurant are shared by the hotel next door the del mar.
You cant use the facilities at the Lindo and the Maya which are the other neighbouring hotels but you can go in their pools (there is a wave pool and a lazy river) you just cant get drinks at these hotels. I would definitely recommend this hotel and if you want trips out then Chitchen Itza and Tulum and Coba (Mayan ruins) Xel-ha and Xcaret (eco parks) and swimming with dolphins are fantastic. There is also a jungle tour for the more adventurous of you."

Excellent! Love IB Playa Paraiso
"My husband, my self, and our two college-age sons just returned from a 5 night stay at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach. This vacation could not have been better! I will admit, on the afternoon of our arrival, we were thinking the resort was just too big. However, after two hours of being there, we knew where just about everything was and actually thought the walking was not near as bad as we had heard on other boards. The rooms were gorgeous, first class all the way. The food, in our opinion, was wonderful. Especially the buffet. They actually have stations where the food is cooked freshly in front of you for every meal. The specialty restaurants were all excellent, but we actually thought the buffet was as good. Great variety every time. My husband, myself and my older son are not extremely picky eaters. However, my youngest son has a very sensitive stomach and is picky, picky, picky!
Even he thought the food was excellent and suffered no stomach ailments the entire trip. We have traveled extensively, normally booking through Sandals resorts. Our last vacation was to Sandals Negril, Jamaica. It was excellent as well. The reason I mention this is to give you a small word of caution. Don't go to Mexico expecting it to be like Jamaica, Bahamas, Bermuda, etc. It is different. Not better or worse, just different. The value in Mexico cannot be beat. Our Sandals Jamaica trip cost us $500.00 more for just my husband and myself than our Mexico trip cost for all four of us, with two rooms! You will love this resort. I would not, however, recommend this resort for anyone with walking problems. The size was very manageable for us, but would not be enjoyable for someone who has a hard time getting around. Awesome place and great for families
"Just got back last night (June 13) from Iberostar Paraiso Beach. It was fantastic, we brought our 7 and 10 yr old, and they loved itas well. The hotel grounds are fantastic and the walk is not that farunless you are over weight or have a broken leg. We stayed in building 33;perfect location. The grounds are well kept and beautiful, with peacocks walking around. the pool is huge, with 3 swim up bars, pool games played throughout the day, and a band in the afternoon. The ice cream bar was great for the kids too. The drinks were very good with plenty of liquor in them. The pool bartenders work ther butts off in the heat but do a great job. we tipped them $2- $3 everyday and got the best service, and they always took care of getting our children virgin pina coldas. The food was very good at the buffetts, it does get repeative after awhile. However, the Japanese, steakhouse, and mexican were excellent restarants. The rooms were perfect size, very clean, and we tipped the maid $2 everyday and we had a frig full of xx equis, water and soda everyday. The childrens club was excellent, and believe it or not the kids wanted to go back. They met friends at the kids club and participated in plays every night with there new buddies on stage at 8pm. The stage shows were pretty good, about what you would expect. From my perspective the entire staff worked very hard, and were always very friendly. They were great and really interact with the resort guests. The beach is nice for laying out, but not for swimming. There are very large rocks under the water, the water was very choppy, and filled with seaweed. I think we only went in twice. Really unfornunate!!There were a few topless ladies at the beach not a big deal at all, but not allowed at the pool. Overall it was a great trip and really set up well forcouples as well as families. Even thou it was 91 everyday and 70% humidityit was perfect at the pool or beach. Oh yea they have two whirpools in themiddle of the pool, the water is so relaxing. We had a great time and would highly recommend!! Have fun."

"Went to the Iberostar for 7 nights in October 02. Great resort, but very large, a lot of walking. Beach was beautiful as well as the pool, which had a waterfall on one end of it. The food was good but a little repeticious. It's a very preatty resort, but I found it too big."

"This was the first trip to Mexico for my wife and I. We had some trouble getting out of the airport but when we pulled into the gate at the Iberostar it was very relieving. This place is great. The grounds, the staff, the food, and the pool were superb. I have been reading other comments for the past six months and all I can say is those people that had alot of negative things to say about the Iberostar would not be happy anywhere. We had a few minor problems, but hey, we were on vacation and let those things roll off our back. I will recomend this place to everyone."

Beautiful Resort but not a great vacation
"We are just back from our 25th wedding anniversary trip. We stayed at Iberostar Paraiso on the beach side. No words or pictures can accurately describe the beauty of this resort. I have never seen anything like it. The grounds are breath taking. You can take a photo with every turn you make. The lobby is open air and has very pretty décor. We were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink. We got exactly what we requested via e-mail a few days prior to our arrival. We wanted a king room on the second or third floor facing the pool. Our room was located very close to the waterfall area of the pool. We had read that the resort is very big and it really is a lot of walking but the grounds are so lovely, the walk was not an issue for us. The beach surprised us a little. I thought it would be bigger. However, we live on Lake Michigan and our beach is miles and miles long and very wide. We had red flags every day. I am not a good swimmer but love to be in the water but it was impossible with the huge waves coming in. There appears to be enough chairs for everyone but the towel on the chair thing is a bit ridiculous here but worse at the pool. I heard people taking about putting towels on chairs the night before. On the days we went to the beach, we got up very early and got a prime spot. Early morning is a very nice time to be there. It is nearly impossible to find a chair by the pool in the afternoon however. The weather was a huge disappointment. Our arrival day was picture perfect but the next three days were an unpleasant surprise. I do not know what the temperature was but I do know we live in a cold climate and anything above 60 degrees is pleasant enough to take your jacket off. Everyone had jackets, jeans, and sweatshirts. It was very cloudy with frequent sprinkles of rain. It was a huge disappointment after an extremely cold Michigan winter. We canceled a catermeran trip because of the bad weather. We took few warm clothes in spite of the recommendations from the board and were very sorrr did not allow it. We did enjoy a trip to the Talcum Ruins. This site is amazing. I cannot even describe the beauty. I know there are many fans of this resort so I will try to be gentle when I talk about the food. I just do not agree with the reports about the food. We are not fussy eaters but I expected better. I am not sure what people mean when they say the breakfast is great. The food is so cold by the time you get to your table. They do serve freshly squeezed orange juice and that was fantastic. This was our first all- inclusive so maybe it is good in comparison. We ate at the Mexican on our last night, GREAT! We had a shrimp dish in some sort of cream sauce. It is far down on the menu and I would highly recommend it. It has a great atmosphere too. Our waiter was adorable. On Tuesday night however, we tried the Brazilian. The served a variety of tasty meats brought to our table. The day after we ate there, my husband became violently ill. I thought it was a virus but I am now convinced it was food poisoning. We spoke with many people who had the same symptoms after eating there. I have concluded it was not the main course because if it were everyone would have become ill. I think it was something on the appetizer table. The start serving at 6:30 and I just wonder how long that food sits out. I guess that is why I am not a fan of buffet style meals. After a spell of bad weather passed, and two days of watching my poor husband sit on the toilet and vomit in the waste basket, we enjoyed the last two days. We missed our reservation at the steak house due to the illness but we just went there on Thursday night and got in with no problem We talked to one couple that ate at all of them just by showing up and asking. The steak house was very good also with a great casual atmosphere. The rooms are very comfortable. We did not find the beds to be too hard at all. The slamming doors however are a problem. It is too bad they dont do something about that. The drinks were very good. We loved the lobby bar. They ng if anything. I had fun trying to speak Spanish with the staff. They can all speak some English but I feel if you are a visitor in someones country, you should not expect them to learn your language. You should learn theirs. In conclusion, these are just our views as first timers to Mexico. We will not be returning but that is just our opinion."

Unbelievably Amazing Holiday at the Iberostar Paraiso!
"Absolutely amazing! Is an understatement After reading all the reviews prior to our trip I was convinced it would be a great holiday and would exceed our expectations. It did. Tennis was fun, water activities entertaining. Never went to the evening shows because we were totally exhausted from the full day spent sunning and eating. We didn't feel like we missed out on anything. The weather in January wasn't the best (24-26 degrees Celcius) because it was that week where all the cold we were trying to escape from where we live (in Canada) was making it's way all the way to Mexico. Hey, but was still 40 degrees warmer than home. Good food, unbelievably beautiful property, immaculately kep and exceptionally friendly, courteous staff. Easily the best resort I've ever stayed at - and I've been to several all-inclusive's We plan to return again and again."

Best All-Inclusive in Mayan Riviera
"My girlfriend and I just got back from the Iberostar Paraiso Beach on Feb.09/2003, and we thought it was the best all inclusive we have been to. The beach is nice, the food was to die for and the service was excellent. There were quite a few families there, but there is still the party crowd.....They had all the premium drinks there (Bacardi,Smirnoff,Jonny Walker,Jose Cuervo,Beefeater,etc....)The pool at this resort was huge, all you will want to do is drink in the pool all day at one of there 3 swim up bars....For food I strongly recommend the Steakhouse,Japanesse,Brazillian restaurants.......The buffet restaurants were excellent as well.....we didn't have a chance to try all the restaurants, but the ones we did, we loved....and my girlfriend and I like the finer restaurants at home, so trust me on the food........The rooms were nice, minibar was stocked everyday, which included (bottle water, coke,Douce XX beer).....Overall I would recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a kickass all inclusive .....They have a nice disco, and 8 restaurants....."

Our best vacation
"We spent a week at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach in October 2002. It is a secluded facility that is even more beautiful than the pictures. The beach is beautiful, well-maintained, and private. The meals were delicious and offered a lot of variety. There were numerous available activities. You could stay quite busy or relax at the huge pool or beautiful beach. The room was spacious. The staff was excellent, and this vacation exceeded our every expectation. I would definitely recommend this beautiful facility. We made our choice based on comments from other vacationers, so thanks to others who took the time to share their experiences."

An All-Inclusive Dream!
"This hotel isn't just a hotel, it's like an amazing experience that you couldn't forget. It's all inclusive and the drinks are forever enjoyable. There is supreme entertainment that will keep you wanting more and the nightlife is always so alive you'll never want to go to sleep. I've been to Mexivo two times and this hotel is the best resort to stay on, you don't even need to travel or go sight see! It's all on the resort!"
