Had a great time
"We spent a week there towards the end of February. We booked before checking this website and we a little concerned based on some of the reviews. Our experience was excellent. Check in and check out took 2 minutes each, no surprises. While to hotel is older, the room are clean, large and made up within one hour of leaving for breakfast. The water is purified (we bought bottled anyway)We had a balcony with an excellent view. Breakfast is with a bay view and breeze and is a la carte or buffet, your choice (we were all inclusive). Lunch is by the pool and is a la carte. Dinner is overlooking the main street along the bay and is a la carte of buffet bit I suggest an inner table to reduce street noise. Service was promp and courteous at all times. I can only guess that bad service may result from lack of mutual respect with the staff. If you go to the beach, plan ahead. Acapulco is built into the cliffs resulting about 50 stairs up and down each way. Use the hotel veranda. It is private property and security keep the beach vendors at bay. The hotel staff will carry your bag, get your bed, lay out your towel, set up the umbrella and bring a cold bucket of Corona's with smile. WE ONLY TIPPED CERTAIN STAFF MEMBERS ON THE LAST DAY, service was not based on tips. The water quality seems to vary with tides but this is out of the hotel's control A full business centre is available, 15 minutes of internet use cost me 30 pesos. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Email me with any other questions."

A very memorable experience:D
"Our trip was from January 15-22. The hotel FIESTA AMERICANA CONDESA was great! 3 restaurants, one for each meal and the food was good and so were the drinks. Our room was clean, no bugs, air con was fine, bathroom was nice, balcony was a good size with a couple of chairs and a little table. The view was great. We were on the 10th floor. We were on the 17th floor at first but I asked to be switched to the other side hearing from other Tripadvisor reviews that the side that's facing the discos could be loud at night. They were very nice about us wanting to switch rooms. People that work at the hotel spoke english fine, a few didn't but you always had one that did around anyway. Most of them are really nice and friendly and helpful! Just be nice and patient with them and you'll get the same in return! Tip for good service!! :) Main pool is nice, everyone uses that pool, even the kids. The children's pool didn't seem to be used at all. This is DEFINITELY A 3.5 STAR HOTEL in Canadian Standards and in a really good location:). If you're expecting a 5 star, you'll be diappointed. THere are LOTS of things to do in ACAPULCO!! Tan on the beach, jet ski, parasailing, swim with the dolphins, horse back ride on the beach, shop. Whatever you do, BARGAIN LIKE CRAZY!!! The beach is nice, good colour waters, golden sands, could be a little cleaner but still nice. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me."

Don't even waste your time!
"PLEASE DONT WASTE THE TIME OR YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!We spent 10 days over Thanksgiving and it was a disaster from the start....we checked in and had no air conditioning...it took2 days to fix it..and then the toilet broke, there is NO ONE who wil assist you,no one speaks English, and if they do,they pretend not to. Our Rep from the tour group didnt showup at the desk for the 1st 5days, so we had no way to transfer to another Hotel. The food there is horrible, lacked choices, and many other guests were ill from under cooked food. The room is musty, and as others have stated, the beds are way too hard. Most of the time,we didnt have clean towels, and the minbar wasnt stocked even though you could go to the bar and get tje soda and water yourself.. 5 stars.........give me a break!!!"

Do trust them
"I made reservations through the internet in 2002 for a 10 day stay in 2/2003. When we arrived at the hotel, we first had to wait in line for almost an hour, then were told that they did not have my reservation. I produced paperwork and then they found the reservation, but we were not given the accomadations that were confirmed. Those accomadations would only come with more money and then not until the next day. We were treated very poorly by the front desk. We walked down the street to the Calinda Beach hotel and checked in and then returned to the Fiesta to check out. We asked to speak with the manager, and once again had to wait for 45 minutes before he arrived. We explained our problem to him and he could not have been more interested. Very strange experience. The Calinda Beach hotel was wonderful and I will be returning there in a few weeks for another wonderful 10 day stay."

"Booked through local travel agency to stay 10 nights over Christmas week 2003. Looked forward to relaxing, restorative family vacation with two teenage sons ~ which we did have but only after we switched from the Fiesta Americana into Fairmont Princess... ...after staying at hotel one night. The Fiesta America is located in downtown where pace is frenetic and noisy ~ even on Sunday. While the bathroom was nice, the less-than-clean room was small with small balcony overlooking very noisy beach and polluted bay; beds hard; no clock; no radio; mini-bar with snacks in room but warned by bellhop that those were pricey; also told that the in-room coffee maker and supplies were add-ons price-wise; pool area attractive but very crowded; beach not pristine ~ small, congested and full of vendors. Hotel staff accomodating (although few, if any, spoke English). When we asked for availability of quieter, larger rooms, personnel did show us alternative rooms but these came with an even higher price tag than the $300 per night rate we were charged through travel agency. Very next morning we switched to Faimont Princess Resort where we enjoyed one of the nicest vacations we've had to date. Price tag not much higher for luxury accomodations and full breakfast and dinner included. Returned home relaxed and re-energized... however had we not been "upgraded" out of the Fiesta Americana we would have been bound for home less than 24 hours after arriving in Acapulco."

"While the hotel has a great location, and it is possible to walk right outside the front door to shop, eat, etc., I also found the music from the open air disco at the next property was played at a ridiculously high level that prevented me from sleeping many nights. The food at the hotel was decent and moderately priced, although not cheap. The staff was accomodating and friendly. The room decor was subdued tropical, and not at all luxurious. The bed was as hard as sleeping on the floor. The pool area is quite nice, with a fantastic view. As mentioned previously, the beach area is a series of "nonstop salespeople" trying to sell local items from temporary tatoos to pistachios to silver bracelets to sunglasses to "Acapulco Gold". There will be NO REST on the beach. Best to stay by the pool area. Although it is nice to have the convenience of walking outside, next time I will choose a hotel in a quieter section of the bay area."

"We had a family reunion the week of Thanksgiving, and this hotel turned out to be a wonderful choice. Although the Condesa is an older hotel, it is being maintained well. The all-inclusive package, which includes three meals a day and alcoholic drinks, is a terrific deal. Food was great, and the hotel staff very friendly and helpful (particularly Adriana Garcia at the tour desk). Three caveats: don't get a room on the north side of the hotel (the all-night discos will keep you awake), avoid the weekends (the hotel gets really crowded with people from Mexico City coming for the weekend, i.e. no room at the pool, and don't swim in the bay here (Jet Skis are fine), as the bay water is dirty, even though it looks clean."

Excellent place to visit!!!!!
"A group of us girls went there to relax recently. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is right next door to bars, restaurants and exciting attractions such as the bungee jump. Shopping in stores as well as markets are all within walking distance. If you are there and are young and looking for a good party try the beach, it is a great bar right next door, and also the palladium! Great shows there! We had such a great time there during the day as well. There was always fun activities for everyone at the pool area. The staff at the pool area was excellent as well. We played volleyball, basketball and many other games including water aerobics. The service by employees is excellent as well. They are extremely helpful. The location, food and service overall were excellent at this hotel. I would recommend staying here to anyone."

Excellent, but I think we were lucky
"Great stay at this property. We traveled with 2 kids and they enjoyed each minute of this vacation, we stayed at a room in high floor with an excellent view to the sea and the coast hotels (not the bars and clubs); at night we just heard the sea...balcony with chairs and table, excellent room, average mantainance. excellent staf, kids ate free all meals, breakfast buffet included daily, kids activities, pools for everyone...great. The beach is public, so we were there just for a few minutes a day, with the pools we had it. BUT... I think we were lucky because we asked for the room in that side of the building, the rooms from the other side are different (they will tell you that they are all the same) the furniture looks older, the lower floors are less furnished and the decoration is different, so beware of it. Try to avoid the explanation of the "benefits" of staying there (they will tell you it´s a hotel policy that when you check in you have to speak for 20 minutes with a person that at the end will invite you a dinner or breakfast in order to sell you a time share-like program (they will tell you it is not time share), we broke that in 5 minutes, she went kind of mad and we got to our room. In our stay, we saw that all guests must go there... I didnt like it for in a luxury hotel. anyways... I would definately come back if I could guarantee the same type of room, location, rate and the kids program. Great taste in all meals. We had and and extended stay without any problems."

Will try another hotel next time
"We will more than likely try another hotel next time. The service was great; if we were not satisfied with a part of our stay, they immediately fixed the problem. I have to agree with the other reviews; the food offered at the hotel was not the best. Although the view from the "adult" pool was spectacular, there were so many children. The location of the hotel was great! The rooms were mediocre but had a great view of the beach/city. There were many annoying salespeople on the beach selling anything from jewely to braids. The clubs recommended by the hotel staff were great. This was our first time in Acapulco and probably the last time we will stay in this hotel largely due to the "family" atmosphere and the "poor food.""
