A little gem!
"Beautifully clean and comfortable accomodation, very friendly and helpful hosts, excellent breakfast - we were delighted with our choice! Off road parking was a bonus and a short walk to the main attractions of Stratford - Shakespeare birthplace, Holy Trinity Church and the Theatres - meant we didn't need the car again until it was time to leave! We didn't check out the walking route to Anne Hathaways cottage which runs along side the property, the sign says it is just 1 mile away. If we'd had more time we would have given it a try. All together we had a wonderful time, albeit a short one. The memory of the RSCs 'Hamlet' will stay with us and we will definitely be booking into the Woodstock again whenever we're down here again."

Great B & B, good location and excellent hosts
"We stayed in this B & B in August following a recommendation from another B &B in the locality. It is centrally located with parking. The room was well furnished and cosy with a TV and a great shower. The breakfast was lovely with choice of cereals , fruit and a good old fry up!! The hosts were wonderful, full of advice on where tto go and where to eat - "the lambs tavern" is a must on sheep street. Stratford is a beautiful quaint place with lovely boutiques ,shops and of course Shakespeare!!! The theatre is still up and running in another building following refurbishment in the main theatre. Straford is for a weekend retreat and highly recommend staying at woodstock who seem to be open all year round. Have no complaints other than we wish we could have stayed longer!!!"

Very comfortable and friendly house
"If you're looking for a base from which to explore Stratford-Upon-Avon, this is it. All major sights within walking distance and rail station a couple of minute's walk away. Situated in the busy-with-B&B's in Grove Rd, it's ideally located for a walk to the theatres to catch the Royal Shakespeare Company presentation of the Bard's work. My room had twin beds, basin, cupboard, and all the standard amenities of a guest house of this callibre. Decor is old fashioned, florals and lilacs, and that suits the house and area perfectly. Had an en suite bathroom just outside the bedroom which was carpeted, with a power-shower. A quick walk through the park sees you at the centre of town and the attractions there and its right next to a route to walk to Willy's Wife's House too! Proprietors were very welcoming and friendly and have a collection of tourist information and books on Shakespeare and the area. Breakfast is made to order with full continental breakfast and as much (or as little of) a full English breakfast as you desire. House also has beautifully well-maintained garden and was a pleasure to return to after night-fall. Would recommend highly to travelers, even if just for Jackie & partner's hospitality."

"Lots of B&B in Stratford but the Woodstock was certainly an excellent chose. Very central to just about everything, all within walking distance. Hosts Denis & Jackie were very friendly and helpful. (I understand from our conversations they have only been there about 17months, they are doing a fantastic job )Room was very clean, light and welcoming. Breakfast was wonderful. Will certainly be back soon and will recommend to all. Many thanks C & J"

Stay here, you'll love it!!!
"Our stay at the Woodstock Guest house was simply wonderful. My 9 year old daughter and I stayed here for two nights and felt right at home. The location is perfect. You can walk easily to the train station, town, and to Anne Hathaway's house. The owners are very warm and friendly. Our room was spacious, kept very clean, and the breakfasts were fabulous. We will definately stay here again on return holidays!"

What a beauty!
"We stayed here for 3 nights over Easter weekend; my husband, myself and adult daughter in one room. Decoration was a too fussy for our taste, and the room was a little small for 3 adults, but these small inconveniences were overshadowed by the fabulous location, and the friendliness of the hosts. They were very welcoming and helpful, and couldn't do enough for us. Off street parking was provided (although drive-way was quite narrow) and we were able walk into beautiful Stratford Upon Avon. Close enough to Cotswalds for a beautiful day's outing via car. We organised a hire car prior to our visit, and were able to pick it up from Stratford Upon Avon train station. It is a short drive to Woodstock Guest House. Situated on quite a busy road, maybe exacerbated by the beautiful weather and Easter holiday during our stay, but none of this would put us off staying there again or recommending this venue to friends. Lovely cooked breakfast, plus cereal and fresh fruit included in cost."

Small and comfortable
"This is a small guest house but my room was quite spacious compared with some places I have stayed at in a similar price range. The room was clean, the facilities were good and the breakfast was was a great start to the day. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Woodstock is a little further from the centre of Bristol than I expected but with a bus stop just down the road this did not present a problem. Overall a very enjoyable stay marred only by a ferocious thunderstorm on the first night."

Not bad, but not superb...
"Having stayed at numerous B&Bs, I have to admit this was not my favorite. There were a few things about this place that were great. The hosts were very friendly, offered advice, and made us feel like guests in their home. The location is excellent as well - within a short walk of both the town's attractions and the train station. There were a few things we weren't excited about. The overall appearance of the B&B was quite worn (e.g. carpet in rooms needs to be replaced) and the rooms are quite small. It felt like the bathrooms were added in to the corners of the rooms as an afterthought. We also had some issues with the service - missing towels and sheets. One caveat - I believe there are new owners of this B&B as of a few weeks ago, so maybe some of these issues will be ironed out as they settle in."

went that extra bit
"wonderful, friendly, helpful hosts (Roland carried our bags up for my sister and myself - then turned our car around in the restricted space) Would have given it an excellent rating if the rooms weren't so small."
