Absolutely the BEST!

"We have only stayed in a Bed and Breakfast one other time and if they are all this good, then we will stay in Bed and Breakfasts from now on! We stayed for 3 nights during our visit to Stratford (my husband, teenage daughter, and I) and every review that we read about the Emsley is exactly right. Keith and Val make you feel as though you are at home during your stay at the Emsley and the moment you step into the house, Keith gave us maps to the town and suggestions of things to do. We stayed in the Gloucester Room which was very nice. Keith even gave us change for the laudry mat. (When we asked him the best place to go to get change to do laundry he said "here!"). The breakfasts are so large that you don't need to eat lunch and you have a nice variety of items to choose from. When Val found out we were going to Warwick Castle, she brought us out vouchers she had clipped from various food labels and it saved us 15 pounds (almost $28) off of our admission price. I just cannot say enough about the Emsley and about Keith and Val. What a GREAT place to add to your vacation if you can!"

We loved the Emsley!!

"My boyfriend and I stayed at the Emsley for the first two nights of our six weeks in England, and we couldn't have made a better choice. First of all, it's the closest B&B to the train station, and boy, were we thankful for that! It really is right around the corner. We were met by Val, who showed us the lounge and sat us down to catch our breath, while she very helpfully orientated us with a map and some recommendations of things to see and do. Her tips were spot-on and her directions couldn't have been easier to follow. She even offered to help us with our luggage, AFTER seeing how many suitcases we had to bring! We had the Norfolk room, with two twin beds, and it was lovely. We found the size to be cozy, but not too small, even with our excessive baggage. Both the bedroom and ensuite bathroom were spotless. The breakfast was excellent -- a wide selection of offerings, all very fresh and cooked very well. All in all, it was the perfect place to spend a couple days and get our wits about us. We can't wait to go back!"

"I have to agree with the other reviews. This place is a find. Val and Keith are wonderful guests. When we arrived my husband ran in to see where we should park, and Keith came right out and drove our car to the garage for us, as the roads in Stratford are a bit congested mid day. The room was extremely clean and perfect for what we needed. And breakfast...amazing. Truely a great place to stay."

"My wife and I stayed at six different places in our three-week trip to Britain, and this was the best of the six. The couple who run the place are very nice: they leave you alone if you wish, but are also very helpful when you need them. They helped me park our car in the tiny spot right in front of the house, and they also helped us with the luggage. The room was spotless, quiet, and nicely decorated. Breakfast was outstanding, and they offer you various choices. The house is on the edge of the tourist area in Stratford, an easy 10 minute walk to the theaters. Overall, outstanding, and not a single problem we could think of."

"Val & Keith were wonderful welcoming hosts, spotless accommodation, linens immaculate, everything perfect, lovely breakfast room, good location security parking around the corner which was available to us all the following day even though we were checking out. These hosts are perfectionists and it shows!"

"I had the pleasure of staying at the Emsley Guest House, the reviews of this establishment are spot on. The owners make you feel extremely welcome and nothing is too much trouble. My room/ensuite was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The location is great, within easy walking distance to the town centre. Internet access was available without any fuss and free. Saving the best 'till last THE BREAKFAST is superb, and worth the price of the room alone. If you are in the area (its worth travelling for) you won't be dissapointed."

"We stayed at the Emsley Guest House for 3 nights. Keith & Val made us feel like we were in our home. They could not be more welcoming & helpful. The Emsley is situated in a great part of Stratford. One minute walk and you are in the heart of town. The laundry-mat (brand new & clean)was just around the corner which is a big plus when you are travelling for a long time. We also recomend that you do the S-U-A guided walk which Keith & Val can advise you on. If we ever make it back to England we will make a bee-line straight to the Emsley!"

"Stayed in the large room, which was quite adequate for myself and three other friends who wanted to spend our first night in England together. Full bath inside and full bath outside for our group only. Guest house was super clean. Breakfast was wonderful. Keith and Val were super helping us out with information, while helping another couple who had to take one of their group to the hospital. The location was just perfect. We would definitely stay there again!!"

"I would recommend the Emsley Guest House to anyone wanting accommodation in Stratford. My husband and I stayed there for a long weekend in July 2003 and returned the following year for a longer stay. The couple who run the Guest House are so friendly and helpful, they let us use their garage for the week as we were going on from there camping and our car was therefore full of equipment. They parked their car in a car park so we could store ours in their personal garage!! The told us about the theatre shows they had seen, local restaurants and gave us maps and plans for things to do which we wouldn't have known about. The breakfast is out of this world and cooked fresh exactly to your order. The rooms are immaculately clean and offer TV, clock radio and telephone which is a luxury in some guest houses. there are about 4 rooms but one of these is a large family room whcih is lovely. The Emsley is 2 minutes walk from the centre of town and perfect for reaching all the attractions. We certainly intend to revisit later in the year as we would like to see stratford (which by the way is beautiful) during the Xmas celebrations. Have a great time !!!"

"Our stay at the Emsley House was one of the highlights of our vacation. The owners, Keith and Val went out of their way to make us welcome in their beautiful home. Val was not at home when we arrived but had remembered from our making reservations months in advance a village I wanted to visit and had left driving directions for us! We highly recommend the Emsley House."
