Value for money
"We have stayed at Pontins 3 weeks out of the last 4 and we really enjoy it,over the last 4 years we have stayed
over 20 times Mon -Fri . We read bad comments about Pakefield but i can honestly say we have always had a clean chalet,ok it's basic but what do people expect for what you pay.The last three chalets had recently been redecorated and everything was new including floor covering .The meals recently have been ok and although you may have to wait in a que there is always enough .Entertainment team excellent and Annie on the organ gets people on the floor,There is good access for disabled .We recommended it to friends two weeks ago and they booked to stay another week and their chalets were clean both weeks.£99 FOR TWO half board Mon -Fri its cheap and cheerful."

"The chalets are very very basic and where not very clean, lots of noise from younger people in other chalets although advertised as adult only. that was rubbish. were calling security nites after mid nite because of the noise and could not sleep. last evening it was still going on till 3am. reception really interested. we would never ever go again. i know it is budget but we called our slum."

Below par even for a 'budget' stay
"We didn't pay much for the break so I was expecting it to be cheap and cheerful but it wasn't very cheerful!
The good points were that the park was nice for young children, there was direct beach access and the crazy golf was free :)
However there were also of negatives. The accommodation had a lot of maintenance issues, the windows didn't shut properly (some didn't shut at all), the furniture was pretty beaten up and very old, water leaked over the floor when you showered as the bath wasn't sealed, the front door was hanging off it's hinges. Cleanliness was poor, there were toenails from a previous occupant still on the floor, mold in the bathroom, dirty cutlery in the draw. The bed linen was all 100% polyester and we paid extra for that! We had to go and buy sheets! It was very small and dingy in the chalet, the TV didn't work and bizarrely wasn't in the living area but in the double bedroom. The other bedroom with bunk beds in didn't have any plug sockets at all. We didn't complain about our room during the stay as there was a large sign printed in reception saying that they were fully booked and not to ask to change rooms...they are probably used to complaints!
Breakfast and evening meals were included but they were very stressful. If you went early the queues were ridiculous, we waited an hour at the children's food station for my daughters meal and then had to queue again at the adults food station for a further 30 minutes...there was even a queue to get ketchup!!!!! If you went a little later there was nowhere to sit as all the tables were full. If you went very late they had run out of food!!!!! We gave up in the end and got all our meals off site. The food wasn't very good. Most of it was deep fried and the things that weren't were very poorly cooked or still frozen in some cases. We took our baby who is weaning and resorted to shop bought baby food and snacks for her because there were so little fresh food and we were a little concerned about the food hygiene standards.
We couldn't wait to leave! "

"Yes we booked a cheap and cheerful holiday and the activities we did and visits to the beach were great, even the evening entertainment my son (6) loved. However, the chalet was really small and absolutely covered in dust, there was moldy seal round the bath with holes in it and grime like you wouldn't believe. It was smelly in the chalet and the floor definitely had not been mopped either. I found old sweets on a mirror ledge and there was food from the previous occupants use on cutlery (which there was a minimal amount of anyway). The microwave was barely accessible due to where it was placed on the wall! On arrival there were maintenance guys in our apartment fixing a draw apparently, when I went in the draws had no feet on the front and it was all tilted and dangerous as the draw could just slide out and whack you. The dinner menu was terrible and I either barely ate or had to have jacket potato. The ATM's are useless and you are charged as they are pay point ones not bank ones. All in all we had a nice time but the filthiness was my main gripe! "

"Five day holiday with majestic tours for £130 pounds Monday to Friday and trips every day with a brilliant driver andy, bed breakfast and evening meal the chalets maybe be basic the food hall a bit crazy at times but the chalets were clean and the food was good and so was the entertainment we had a fantastic week with a lovely coach of people. One good thing about the week was adults only. Great value for money would certainly go again. We don't expect 5 star for that price but some people do really enjoyed it."

Stay at own risk *Pakefield pontins*
"Upon arrival *June 2016*it was very clear it was not well loved the only clean place was the reception we got our keys after a lengthy wait but that's to be expected in half term went to our rooms to find dirt on the walls skirting boards window ledges TV toilet the floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years and we had to have shoes on constantly the tiles in the bathroom where all cracked dirty with moldy sealant around the bath the light flickered on and off constantly the curtains where half hanging off and the beds needed burning paper thin and not looking so great, the entertainment was ok the arcade was ok and I got poorly the first night after eating in the restaurant followed by my 2 year old and then my husband so we couldn't use the facilities but from another mum I got talking too we wouldn't want too anyway she commented on how unsafe and dirty everything is, the indoor play area and messy play room was lovely the one day we could use it on our last night we found out that a lot of families had become poorly at similar times and some actually left we will never return disgusting place, the staff if they acknowledge you seemed nice enough more so the kitchen staff then the blue coats."

ignore the bad reviews pay for a 2 star resort get a 2 star resort
"Myself and my daughter have stayed at Pontins several time over the last few years ok the place is not a 5 star holiday resort its about 2 and a half but look at the price the food is very edible the bingo is enjoyed by 99% of the people playing
and the entertainment is to to a good standard
ok so it only has a small pool with only one slide and the main club room decor is a bit out of date but think if they raised the standards to center park you would be paying around £2000 for a week in august instead of a few hundred pounds."

"We were looking forward to this adult break with my parents, we traveled from Cornwall and parents traveled from Lincoln , what a waste of time, effort and money. I wish I had read the reviews first to save the £500 for two chalets (club, ) supposedly their top accommodation! The chalets were dirty, one tap was barely attached, bathroom had no lock , the sliding doors were a joke, you'd need to be Arnold Schwarzenegger arms to open and close them. The chalets were more than dated, the mattresses painfully uncomfortable, the bed sheets were shiny nylon on a plastic coated mattress, the double bed might have been classed as a double in the 1950s, what a joke. the cutlery provided still had food from the previous users on.
The food, after traveling several hours, we were hungry, the choice was limited, over cooked, tasteless and Awful, the plates were cold and gritty , some still had crusted on food from the previous meal time. The deserts had been there way too long, the ice cream was more ice and gritty. Needless to say we didn't eat, breakfast , we'll stick to cereal, bacon over cooked, but cold,in fact all the hot food was not hot. I never thought it possible to muck up custard but sadly, I was wrong, it was colored water, disgusting... This is the only time I decided school dinners were not so bad after all!
Entertainment... Bingo , expensive shambles, need I say more. The pianist/organ player Annie was good, people enjoyed the dances etc, as for the rest of the entertainment laid on, don't bother. We were supposed to be there from Monday till Friday, we left Wednesday as soon as it was daybreak. Take my advice.. Do not go to Pakefield unless you like wasting ur money... The only positive ..it's great for loosing weight!"

our over 50,s visit to pakefield
"The Chalets were dated and the mattresses tired and worn, shower had not been cleaned properly..the food was awful, and the dining room did nothing to wet your appetite, it was like a school dinner hall, waited 40mins for a jacket potato and salad,,breakfast was possible, bacon was awful, plates cold...thought this sort of dining had gone with the earlier images of holiday camps, went to Mill Rythe Hayling island, was like a 5 star hotel up to this...entertainment was more suitable for disco,s one comedian fair, and a magic act, the other two ..a girl singer Karmella cleared the entertainment hall she was flat and too loud, the two lads again loud and not for the over fifties nites, the bingo was chaotic, broke down, so were given fresh tickets, which was a shambles as some people were waiting for 1 or 2 numbers on their previous cards...all in all a disaster..never again for us a Pontins break....."

"We enjoy Pakerfield been twice 2013/2014 half board with my husband and two sons ,the accommodation has been clean, the breakfast is good but the evening menu could be better. There isn't much to do in the day time on the park, but the evening entertainment is good. The blue coats work hard to keep the kids entertained. your holiday is what you make it, if you want a five star holiday book elsewhere."
