Travelodge Sheffield Richmond
4 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
Usual travelodge standard, fine for price
"I'm surprised at some of the reviews here as I had a good experience on the Friday before Christmas. We were in the last room on the bottom floor, next to the Little Chef. Was a bit annoying having to drag suitcases through the twisty corridor with heavy doors but not a major prob. Could hear music from Little Chef but not loud enough to be annoying - the heating system was more noisy. Used taxi phone on wall in reception which arrived very quickly and friendly driver gave us ideas on where to go in town. Taxi stewards in street also friendly and got us return taxi after having a great Indian meal at Nirmals scruffy but delightful restaurant.
No problems with cleanliness at all."

Great hotel, not so great location
"I stayed in this hotel with a group of girls for a concert at the Arena. The hotel itself was very clean and the room was a high standard for a travelodge. Some list this hotel as 2* but it is certainly 3*. They didn't provide any towels but there was tea / coffee facilities in the room. The reception staff weren't terribly helpful, but that might be the 'all girl group' attitude. The only negative comment I would make is the hotel location - if you are staying here for the Arena - another tripadvisor commented that it was a 'few minutes walk' from the arena - i'm not sure they have got the right hotel (unless a few minutes means 60-90 minutes). The hotel also informed me that the Arena was no more than 20 minutes walk from the hotel. Don't believe it! We took a taxi to the Arena costing £7 one way. Also, unbelievably everything around was closed on a Friday night after 12.00 pm and the travelodge said there were no takeaways open, so the only option we had for food was the Esso garage shop next door! No alcohol either in the hotel or nearby, so that saved on hangovers in the morning. If you don't mind a taxi ride to the Arena this hotel is fine, but if you want to party or go for food afterwards, you need to go into Sheffield city centre - which would cost quite a lot in taxi fayres."

"A newly built hotel offering the standard Travelodge experience, a spotless room and a very comfortable bed.
The reception staff were friendly and welcoming there is a cafe bar area for obtain breakfast, meals snacks and a bar service.
This place is ideally located near the station.
At the time of writing there is a bit of building work going on nearby but didn't detract from my stay.
Would recommend and certainly plan a return visit. "
