"My family and I stayed at this hotel this weekend, had excellent service, well manoured and polite. Breakfast was exceptional and faultless. rooms were very clean with comfy beds. if i had to pick a fault it would be no lock on bathroom door but that is minor, would definetly stay again."

"I booked the hotel for a girls weekend and it could not have been a better choice. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The Hotel had a lovely feel to it, quaint with a modern touch. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Food delicious and meals were served efficiently and food was hot. The position of the hotel is perfect for a range of activities. Axbridge is a beautiful little village, full of interest."

Mainly good but some bad points
"Friendly staff, good breakfast. Comfortable room. Duvet, which was good. Bathroom smelt a bit damp and the extractor fan (if that is what is was) was very weak. Bathroom very small. Don't stay in room 4 as you will be wakened at 5am by the deliveries to the Post Office sorting office opposite. Some noise of music from the bar but it was turned off when we went down and asked."

Couldn't fault it!! - Best Hotel stay in years!!
"We needed a one night stop off whilst we visited the local and famous Cheddar Caves. We were tempted to stay within the familiar Premier Inn chain, but my gosh we were so glad we didn't. The hotel is in the beautiful little village of Axbridge and is the perfect surroundings for a perfect stay. The rooms were immaculate and very modern with a flat screen LCD TV, the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming and the food was out of this world! The Chef apparently specialises in fine dining - and they werenât wrong. His food was amazing! Used local award winning ingredients and the price was reasonable too. Main meal inc starter, dessert and a heap of drinks - for two ;-) came to around £50. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting the Cheddar Caves and local area!"

"I stayed at The Oak House Hotel July '09 with group of work colleagues / friends and we couldn't have asked for more. The rooms are clean, modern, tidy and have a lovely feeling to them. The food is fantastic, better than any other food I had whilst in Axbridge. The general consensus is that the homemade brownies were the best brownies we have ever had, these alone made the trip worth while!! The ambiance of this place is brilliant and fantastic value for money. I believe this place has undergone new management so please ignore the negative feedback from last year as it clearly isn't relevant anymore. All in all if you are looking to stay in this medieval town look no further than The Oak House Hotel, you won't be disappointed."

A quiet comfortable great value stopover
"We stayed for a one night stopover en route to Cornwall. Axbridge is just off motorway and the hotel is centrally located in a quaint old english village square. Hotel has just had refurb. We had a large comfortable en suite double room overlooking square. The staff were pleasant. The bar area refurb is still in progress and we enjoyed a night out with friends in a traditional nearby pub, the Lamb. Full english breakfast was fine. Overall cost was very reasoanble."

A very fiendly hotel
"I spent a week at the Oakhouse with four colleagues whilst on a training course nearby and felt that we were made to feel more than welcome by the staff. The rooms were more than sufficient and the meals were not only reasonably priced but were of outstanding quality. I cannot praise the service we recieved enough and my colleagues and I will definately be staying again if in the area."

very nice hotel
"we looked at the review for this hotel, thought the feed back was very unfair so this is why i decided to write this .this hotel is under new ownership and is 90% refurbished .They have done up most of the rooms to a good moden style, very clean.new lcd tvs .Downstairs is very nice old stone walls and fireplaces, looks like it has all been painted with nice pine tables and chairs.I would stay there if i was in that area again. If you do fancy a stay there find a new review after march 2009 as it seems to have all changed inside and out"
