Perfect guesthouse in Whitby

"We wanted to visit Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay but could not find anything suitable in either of these places so we decided to stay in Whitby. We found this Guest House on the internet and it looked like a quality Guest House at a very reasonable price. The booking was made over the phone and this gave a very good first impression as the booking was made efficiently and with courtesy. When we arrived, the owner immediately knew who we were and showed us to our room. The room was lovely - very clean and well furnished, with television, tea and coffee making facilities and a spotless shower room. Two easy chairs and a footstool added to the comfort of the room. Whilst we didn't use these two additional facilities, they deserve a mention. There is a guest kitchen with tea and coffee making facilites, and tables and chairs for eating take- aways; and there is an ironing board and iron available for guests' use. There isn't a back garden but there is a sitting area in the front garden. The Guest House is situated in a very good position, close to Whitby's attractions. We are so pleased we couldn't find anywhere to stay in Staithes or Robin Hood's Bay as this enabled us to find this little gem and we would recommend Rosslyn House to future visitors to Whitby."

"Our family room was clean and spacious. The dining room where we ate breakfast was beautifully decorated in "blue & white china" theme. The owners were particularly welcoming and were happy to advise us on where to eat out and travel plans. The location of Abbey House was good for us - easy walking distance of the town, yet the noise did not carry, and it was very quiet at night."

"Me and my partner wanted to get away for the weekend and with all the choices of guest houses in Whitby we finally decided on Rosslyn House. It was the right choice. We felt instantly at home due to a warm welcome from the owners Kay and Dave. Our room was lovely, an excellent size room with everything you could possibly want. Breakfast choice was vast and we were very happy with the quality and quantity when it arrived. The guest house doesnt provide evening meals but the guests have their very own fully equipped kitchen which is great when having famous Whitby fish and chips takeaway! We would recommend this guest house to everyone and will definitely stay here when we return to Whitby. Five stars!!"

"We had a great stay here. We were made to feel really welcome. We were very impressed with how clean, spacious and well decorated the rooms were. The level of service was brilliant. The breaksfast menu was great with plenty on offer and it tasted and looked fabulous. David and Kay the owners are very nice people with a great knowledge of local surroundings and tearooms/resturants, they made our stay extremely plesant. The House is beautifully decorated and in an excellent location, literally minutes (walk) away from everything that Whitby has to offer including a great beach. I know we will definately be returning and I would recommend this to anyone who is planning to go to Whitby."

"Excellent B&B all round. Friendly staff, fabulous modern rooms, thoughtful extras ( such as a little communal kitchen if you want to cook a bit, or store fridge food), very good cleaning service, lovely breakfast, great location. All at an amazing price! I've never been happier with a place I've stayed in my life, and I shall definitely return."

"We were extreemaly impressed with this hotel. The owners were very friendly and kind to us on our stay. We went with an 18 month old and they were very accomodating. The room was just right for use and a travel cot which we brought with us. The only think we missed with the little one was a bath, But we managed. The room was always cleaned and when we had left some of the babies milk in the room it was removed and taken to a fridge, which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast we had was fabulous with all fresh ingredients. My daughter also enjoyed hers. The service at breakfast was great and we didnt feel too awqward when my daughter began to play up. On our departure day they also looked after the little one so that we could get the car packed away alot quicker. The location was idea for our short stay and with being 7 months pregnant was just a short distance walk from all the sights etc. We realy enjoyed our stay in Whitby and this was added to by the services that were provided to us by the owners at Rossly House and we have already recommended it to other members of our friends and family. We will surly stay there again. Thankyou"

"Me and my fiance decided to stay at rosslyn house with our little girl for 2 nights after a friend highly recommended the bb. We were not dissapointed! The service was fantastic. The owners made our stay extra special (especially at breakfast times!!!! the food was splendid and made to perfection! ) There was plenty of choice to choose from and david, the owner made friendly appearances each day in his apron! We were made extremely welcome and our little girl was made to feel like a princess. We stayed in a family room. The room was immaculate and traditionally decorated. We must say it is the most tasteful and cleanliest bb we have stayed in! The location was fantastic and couldnt have asked for more. Whitby centre is a 5 mins strole away through beautifully winding streets with quaint little shops. We had a fantastic visit and will most definately be returning without a doubt. Thankyou for a wonderful stay"
