The Sands - Sea Front Apartments

"We stayed for two nights in a two bed apartment, overlooking the Scarborough North Bay. Apartment is lovely, with good quality bedding. Everything is new and clean. Showers are great. Everything is great. The only draw back is the kitchen and the living room is an open space area. We tried to cook breakfast one morning and the fire alarm keeps coming on. It is impossible to cook something without swtiching the fire alarms on, so why bother putting the kitchen on. It is okay for making coffee and tea but you cannot really cook, and at the time of our visit, there is no place to eat nearby for breakfast. Hopefully all the shops on ground floor will be developed soon."

"We spent a short break here and loved it. Much better than staying in a hotel as it had a fully equipped kitchen so you can make your own leisurely breakfast and eat it gazing out to sea through the large patio doors or watching the large flat screen TV on the wall. The master bedroom was spacious with its own shower room and flat screen TV. There is also a separate bathroom (and a second twin bedroom which we did not use). There is even a PS3 in the living room and an ipod docking station not to mention an XBOX in the small bedroom. The apartments have their own gym and secure car park. There were a couple of small hiccups. The heating failed but a very friendly concierge came and sorted it for us and we had to chase up the dressing gowns which were promised in the brochure. Didn't see much of the housekeeping either - we had to make the bed ourselves! And a very poor mobile phone signal. But overall a great place to stay."
