"Just got back from a weekend away with family and friends in Cropton Forest Lodge. This is the third time we've stayed in the cottages in the North York Moors and wouldn't stay anywhere else. Had a fabulous time, the cottages are spotlessly clean and it feels like you're the first ones to stay there. The hosts Ben & Sue are lovely, very friendly and couldn't do enough for you - including organising tee times for my hubbie who didn't quite get round to it before we left. Would recommend Cropton Forest Lodge to anyone looking for a weeknd/holiday in the North York Moors, it's beautiful, the pictures really don't do it justice."

"This place is a set of self-catering units in an old farmhouse - the rooms have been very well converted with great attention to detail. The hosts Ben and Sue are welcoming and helpful. They have done most of the conversions themselves and are passionate about their business. The location is perfect for getting away from it all - it is in the middle of the forest."

"We have stayed at Cropton Forest Lodge four times in as many years. With a group of friends, we cycle nearby and in Dalby Forest. But there are many things to do and places to visit in this beautiful area of countryside. If you wish to dine out, there are many, wonderful country pubs/restaurants in the nearby villages. However, the most important thing to mention here is the quality of the accommodation. The hosts, Ben and Sue, have created a collection of the most delightful, beautiful and comfortable units of accommodation that you could ever hope to encounter, and they are available at a reasonable price. Standards are very high - in design, cleanliness, quality of fittings etc. Ben and Sue are great people- ever so friendly, helpful and great fun. You will never forget your stay at Cropton Forest, and, like us, you will probably return again and again."

"Very peaceful setting, with lovely views. Ben and Sue make you feel very welcome, nothing is too much trouble. The area round about has plenty of scope for many types of activities e.g. walking, mountain biking, visiting historic houses and gardens."

"Quite simply 5* with all the luxuries. Sue and Ben are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble. The cottages are superb and we should know we have stayed in all of them. We have now been 6 times and will definitely return soon. The forest location is perfect for hike or bike and the moors are within walking distance. A very relaxing place to be."

"We have just returned from a wonderful short break in 'Willows End' Cottage. The cottage was spotlessly clean and decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard, worthy of its five star rating. Fabulous comfortable beds and with everything you could wish for, from the well-equipped kitchen to the brilliant bathrooms. The cottage was warm and inviting with lovely views from all the windows. Sue and Ben were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend Cropton Forest Lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful break in a beautiful part of the country, and hope to pay a return visit soon."

"The cottage is set in a fabulous location, right on the edge of the woods in a quiet, secluded valley. As someone who loves the rugged scenary of the North of England, it was perfect for me. The owners (Ben and Sue) have clearly put a great deal of time and effort into the cottage. Every room is very tastefully decorated and in excellent condition. The whole place has a cosy, homely feel to it. The kitchen is fully equipped and spotlessly clean. The living room is great to relax in, with a home cinema system (iPod friendly) for entertainment and a wood stove for atmosphere. Ben and Sue were superb hosts - friendly, welcoming, approachable and helpful. I can't imagine a country cottage gets much better than this. I would definitely go back if/when I get the opportunity."

"Cropton forest lodge is in a beautiful, peaceful location and Ben and Sue have renovated the property to very exacting standards. The cottages are excellent and the local walks, straight from your doorstep are in the forest and these too are very good. The North Yorkshire Moors steam railway is only a 2 mile walk from the lodge. We have very high expectations of a holiday cottage and since we discovered the lodge we have returned about 6 times now.Ben and Sue are the perfect hosts, jovial, attentive when you need them and always on hand should you need them."

"Stumbled across the cottages as we searched the net for a peaceful week together away from the treadmill. What a find! The accomodation was first class, Sue and Ben, the owners, were on hand when we arrived to help us settle in and were always available if we needed any help with anything. The cottage we were in, "Meadows End" was spotlessly clean and well supplied with everything you would need for a self catering holiday. The situation could only be described as "paradise"...couldn't sleep one morning so got up and went for an early walk in the forest, came across partridge, grouse, and because I was downwind from them, not fifty yards away, two deer feeding....magic moments. We'll definitely be back....but next time I'll bring the mountain bike for the moments when the wife wiles away the the time with a good book ! ( The bookroom at the cottages is well stocked with a variety to suit all tastes. ) You will not be disappointed. George and Theresa Brannan."

"We booked this at very short notice hoping to get away from it all and relax and what can we say. Our standards are very high and they were exceeded. From the superkingsize bed to the 32"LCD TV with home cinema it was amazing. The decor is so tasteful, furnishings of the highest quality and the kitchen had everything anyone could need. Sue and Ben are fantastic hosts and nothing was ever too much trouble. Needless to say we would highly recommend it."
