Holiday from hell
"I will never go back to Reighton Sands Holiday Park. Nobody on the staff smiles especially the doormen and the lifeguards in the pool. One doorman called Neil was downright rude and needs the sack. The only pleasant lifeguard was a lovely guy called Jason. The rest of them were miserable and never stopped yawning. The pool is nothing more than a paddling pool. The deepest part is 1 meter and its 65cm at the shallow end. You cant swim in it. There is the Lazy river outside that doesn't even open on Mondays and Fridays. If you like a drink, a pint of lager is well over priced at £3.70 and before you can get one it costs £20 for a 1 week fun pass. A very small portion of fish n chips will cost you nearly 8 quid. Trust me when I tell you its the worst site I have ever been on. never never again. Big Al"

"After having a weekend away at Reighton Sands never will I ever will I eat at the Barrel n Mash. The first meal that we ordered came with the added extra of having a fly cooked in amongst the chips after complaining and been offered a replacement meal after a long wait and the food arriving did we then have another added extra in our food. No It wasn't another fly it was a Pubic Hair!! After calling over the manager and showing the offending Item we were offered a full refund which we accepted, but It leaves me wandering what kind of catering staff are working behind those kitchen doors and have they ever heard of Health and Hygiene???"

"We go to Reighton often, and its a wonderful site. Despite the reviews below, the shop is not expensive and the children's entertainment doesn't go on until 10pm. Geesh, some people. The site is in a great location, access to the beach, either walking or by the little bus that trails up and down and most days (but not on Fridays). There is a coffee shop down at the bottom now which sells ice-creams, coffees, beach toys, snacks and also has a toilet. I've never ever seen that beach left a mess! Its a great beach, quiet, never over-full, has great fossils to look for (and find sometimes if you're lucky). Its a wide beach and really beautiful. I've honestly never ever seen it littered as stated below. Our last visit in a caravan - booked through Haven - was incredibly warm considering it was October, and we all slept very well, even in really bad storms and wind. The slot machines are the same as all slot machines and the entertainment is typical of all caravan parks. It is what it is. It does get full in August - testament to it being a firm favorite with families. Its in a great location for Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington and Filey. The pool are is ok... its usually warm and the lazy river outside is really great fun. I have rated the food down as it can be slow to arrive and/or cold, but the breakfasts are pretty good and that's what you need to set you up for the day. The bar is also expensive, but no more than any other bar in any other similar type environment. The shop is extremely reasonably priced, but for more choice we often go to the large Co-op near Bridlington (10-15 minutes away). We've been several times and will continue to go several times, whether camping or in the caravans. I'm a working parent and Haven offers a 'fun filled' holiday for my daughter, and if she's chilled and happy, then I'm chilled and happy. That's what holidays are meant to be about, quality time with your family and Haven definitely delivers on that! It has everything we need, indoor and outdoor pool areas, games, entertainment, walks on the beach, playgrounds, plus many more! It is what it is. Its not a five star hotel, but it is a nice place to unwind for a few days and get away from it all."

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
"We recently stopped in a private owned caravan at Reighton sands - Haven holiday park owned by a nice couple called Hannah and Steve 07799642532. The caravan was a New Deluxe plus model and was exceptionally well maintained and very very clean. It was on a flat plot that was on a corner overlooking a large grassed area....ideal for the kids to play on whilst we watched them. The caravan had its own private car park space right next to caravan Inside we had a free view TV with DVD player. The 2 bedrooms were very clean and have TV points in each to plug in your laptop if you have a TV card installed. We booked Friday to Friday but they do Monday to Friday and Friday t Mondays too. MUCH cheaper than Haven direct and very polite. HIGHLY RECOMMEND... BUT BOOK EARLY as I am sure they will have many repeat booking. Ring them on 07799642532 "

Will definitely be back :)
"My family and I would like to compliment Reighton Sands Holiday Park :) We found it really clean, and the food was absolutely wonderful. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was fantastic and very clean as were the showers... The two grandchildren and their parents loved the lazy river and indoor pool and us grandparents spent most time relaxing in the brilliant jacuzzi area :) We have been to Blue Dolphin many times but decided to try Reighton Sands.. And im so glad we did! It was much cleaner and accomodation a higher standard. I gave this holiday 9/10 merely because there was dog poo on footpaths which I know is dog owners responsibility as anywhere in the country otherwise it would've been full marks from us! Thank You so much and we will be back next year :)"

WORSE CARAVAN EVER!!!
"We have been to Reighton Sands and stayed in a DELUXE. This was for a 5 day break (3 complete full days to be exact). We stayed in a STANDARD 3 Bedroom. 3 adults and 1 child. After the second day my parents left in disgust they have never done this before. SITTING ROOM AREA The ceiling light shades had a nicotine stain made the light very poor at night (smoking was not allowed in the caravans!) On ceiling again, on one of the corners, the paper was already bubbling up due to damp from the roof. KITCHEN - The fridge light never worked from the day of our arrival. BATHROOM - There was NO TOWEL RAILS OR EVEN A "TOILET BRUSH" provided. The toilet leaked, where it meets the floor, as it moves sometimes so beware as you dont know about it until you slip on it. NO I did not complain as we were only there for 3 days but it would have been a different for a weeks holiday. Yes the Reception were friendly but I was told on departure that THEY DO NOT PROVIDE TOILET BRUSHES. Yet there was nothing mentioned in the Confirmation Letter "Bring your own bedding, towels etc if you do not want to hire them" NOR was it mentioned in the glossy magazine. Hope this review helps? "

Enjoyable holiday in a lovely part of the country
"Second visit to Park. Caravan basic, clean but cold at night and inadequate duvee, mattresses not the best quality. That said staff always courteous and helpful. 9 hole golf course as part of the park a definite plus! Pool facilities excellent. Steep climb from beach but well worth it. Location particularly attractive with easy access to Scarborough, Whitby and North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Our 5 year old nephew thoroughly enjoyed his first time here. Will definitely come back again."
