A great night's sleep!
"We stayed in one of the new rooms at the back of the hotel & very nice it was too. Yes, it was basic, no toiletries, basic facilities- but it was spotlessly clean & comfortable, and very spacious.
The bed was very comfortable, and most importantly, the room was quiet! I had a great night's sleep & was ready to face the day the next morning! My daughter slept on the pull out bed and said it was comfortable too. I noticed a previous reviewer said that the blind did not block out the light, we didn't find this at all, but maybe this was because we were at the back of the hotel & it was not on the sunny side in the morning.
The bathroom was nicely appointed with a great power shower & plenty of towels. The bedroom just had a hanging rail & small shelf but this didn't matter as we were only staying one night. One of the best things was opening windows!! It was a hot day & the room was nice & cool when we arrived!
My husband & son stayed in one of the older rooms at the front of the hotel, this wasn't so nicely furnished and the shower leaked!
We paid £68 for each room, and, although it is basic, it's clean & quiet so good value!"

Flat screen tv, otherwise pretty basic
"Stayed in one of the new rooms, directly facing the petrol station which is open all night. Best ask for a room at the back ..... The room was clean, but basic. i.e. double bed; instead of a bedside table there was a hole in the headboard on each side - narrow, shallow, didn't hold much and wasn't easy to reach; small bendy, not particularly effective reading lamp on each side of the bed; flat screen tv on wall opposite bed; desk with one plastic chair; 2 plug points adjacent but mirror some way away on wall. I didn't find the pillows very comfortable and would have thought they might have used fitted sheets to avoid wriinkles. The shower curtain didn't reach the shower base, which meant that the bathroom floor and towel (no bath mat) which I'd put down ready to step out onto were both soaked. I also wasn't happy, i.e. felt somewhat insecure because I couldn't get a phone signal in my room, although obviously this wasn't down to Travelodge. At a cost of £65.00 for one person, excluding breakfast, I don't think this was particularly good value and will look elsewhere in future. I"

great value hotel
"Just spent two nights here. The hotel looks as if it has recently been refurbished, the rooms were very basic but spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed, good shower, flat screen tv and tea and coffee supplied. All the staff we met were polite and helpful. Only gripes with room were that curtains have been replaced by window blind that let in daylight and no plug for hairdryer near to the mirror. We normally avoid Little Chef restaurants but the one on this site looked fairly new and we were pleasantly surprised. We ate breakfast both days and it was very good, staff excellent. Also on this site is a 24 hour petrol station with Spar shop that has alcohol in chiller cabinet, very handy to take back to room. Because of the petrol station i would recommend requesting a room at the back of the building. Must mention the 'Bridge Inn', this pub is about 1 mile away next to Acle bridge. Very good food and lovely location next to the river. Gets very busy so would book the restaurant or get there early in the hieght of the summer. Taxi from hotel cost £8 return and was well worth it. All together a great location for touring the suffolk and norfolk villages we will definately return."

Excellent value hotel
"Spent two nights at the Travelodge in Acle. There is a Little Chef across the spacious car park which offers reasonably priced breakfasts (and other meals). There is also a petrol station with shop very near by. The hotel itself has no eating facilities but does have a snack vending machine.
Staff were all very pleasant and helpful, providing extra pillows/towels as needed.
The room was clean and comfortable. You don't get all the freebie toiletries in Travelodges but they do provide kettle, mugs, teabags/coffee/sugar and milk sachets in the room. Towels are provided and hand soap.
Our room had a smart flatscreen tv on the wall with only BBC1, BBC2, ITV1 and Ch4 though. There was no wardrobe or drawers for clothes but a small hanging rail and shelf is provided.
The bathroom had no bath but a power shower with plenty of hot water, sink and toilet. All were spotlessly clean.
We booked three weeks in advance and paid only £29 per night for the room. Excellent value for money.
Acle is placed between Norwich and the East Norfolk coast, very convenient for the Norfolk Broads, Great Yarmouth and Acle has regular trains to GY and Norwich.
Overall, if you want a basic hotel which is clean and comfortable but are happy to do without luxuries this travelodge is ideal. Would recommend it."

Travelodge goes even more downmarket
"We stayed in a new room which was very basic to say the least - adequate - but basic. Travelodge rooms have gone even more downmarket. There was a bed, a short shelf, a short 6 hangar rack (no wardrobe), a very small TV (not widescreen) high up on the wall so it hurt your neck & a tiny shower room (you could barely sit on the toilet squashed between the door & the sink). Cheap furnishings. No toiletries (although they do tell you this on the website). They only provide one set of towels - if there are two of you you have to ask for more.
They are going cheaper & cheaper in quality. We paid £39/night saver rate so it was OK but I would have been peeved if I had paid full price of £65.
As with most of these places a bit of traffic noise wakes you up in the moring at about 7.00am."

Good location and local facilities
"There were some building works to extend the hotel, but overall minimal distruption. Rooms were decorated as you would expect, clean and staff friendly. Location great for local area and not far from train station/local village (5 min walk)"

"We really enjoyed our overnight stay at Acle on the way to Great Yarmouth. The staff were really friendly and helpful, we got 25% off vouchers to use at Little Chef next door which was handy for our breakfast on the morning we left. And the small village of Acle is just a few mins walk away, we had a meal in one of the local pubs which was also very friendly. It was great value for money as we got the room for £26 and everything was spot on!"

"We stayed here as a family of 3 visiting the nearby horse sanctuary Redwings.
It's a very easy place to find and is set back off the main road, a good base for discovering Great Yarmouth. We had a side room which overlooked a grassy area and the rooms were all double glazed and nicely furnished with a sofa that changed into a bed for our teenager. Usual facilities like kettle, TV etc. Receptionist was very pleasant and helpful and the booking in process swift. There is a garage with a Spar on site and a Little Chef also. Travelodge will give you a voucher to hand into the Little Chef which gives you a discount of 25% to use. We had both breakfasts and dinners there and found them to be lovely meals.
We booked on a Travelodge supersaver rate, £15 a night and so had 2 nights for just £30. Excellent value in a hotel which you are always confident will be clean and comfortable. Would definately stay there again."

"This Travelodge is an ideal base for visiting the Norfolk Broads and central for Norwich City Centre. We drove to Postwick Park and Ride approx 10 miles from the lodge where we caught the bus into Norwich. This took the strain out of parking, the buses ran every few minutes to and from the centre of Norwich.
The lodge is very clean and the staff are very helpful and courteous, will definitely use this Travelodge again."

Handy to explore Norfolk
"We were touring East Anglia (using Travelodge's Saver rate offers) and stayed her for one night. Being mid-way between Norwich, Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads, it is a good base for exploring much of Norfolk.
The lodge is clean and tidy, but does look as though it will need refurbishment in the next few years. It was a benefit that the Lodge was only a few minutes walk from the village centre, and there is a Spar shop, petrol station and Little Chef on site.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and overall we were happy with our stay."

"Great break. We only had room basis but thatâs all we really needed somewhere to crash out after our superb days out. The room was spacious and clean and well decorated. The staff were friendly and polite.
Great Yarmouth is such a fun place for all ages, from the piers and arcades to model village and tea rooms. There is something for everyone.
Pleasurewood Hills theme park is only a short drive away and was a huge hit with the kids. In the evening we wrapped the kids up warm and traveled down to the sea front to show the kids all the lights, they loved it. There is so much to do here, you will never get bored."
