Like going Home
"We spent 4 days at this hotel and had wonderful service, the food was excellent, the rooms clean, warm and comfortable, we were made so welcome by the owners and the staff, all the staff were happy at their work, thatâs something you don't see often these days, there was no pressure to tip anyone, although we did, because they were worth it. I can't recommend it enough, if you are going to that area then it's the place to stay and tour round."

Will visit again
"This is one of the best hotels i have stayed in, ever! The hotel is kept to a good standard of decoration and cleanliness, the staff are friendly, helpful and well trained. The food was a good as it gets there were 17 people in our group, not one complaint about any of it, you just couldn't fault it."

"Spent 3 nights at the Virginia Court, working in the local area. Our work schedule meant working from early evening untill 4am. As this would mean sleeping through breakfast the hotel staff were happy to lay on bacon / sausage sandwiches and serials at 11am for free. They scheduled the housekeeping around our working hours. This typified the professional and friendly attitude of the staff. Pleasant rooms and a relativeley quiet location made it an ideal stay for work. Free reliable WIFI to boot ! Cannot comment on the price of meals or drinks but I will certainly be using this Hotel again should we have to return to Cromer."

Everything a seaside hotel should be
"Stayed here for a family reunion; myself and brother in 2 single rooms and parents in a twin. All rooms clean, tidy, not worn or needing maintenance. Looks as though has been brightened up in the last few years. Lovely building, staff very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfasts, nice rang of food in the evening, well located. I am always very dubious of the quality of hotels such as this in seaside resorts, but thought Virginia court was really a very sweet place. Would stay again."

A fabulous time!
"Fab location, near the beach, local park and only 5 mins from town. Superb service, excellent meals with a good choice and menu changing each night. Breakfast offered a superb range of food from cereals and fruit to kippers. The pancakes are delicious! The majority of the guests were older than us but there was no problem with well-behaved children sitting in the bar or lounge and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were scrupulously clean with ample towels and toiletries and plenty of tea/coffee etc. Beds were comfortable with toasty duvets and scatter cushions for a little bit of extra luxury. All staff were friendly, helpful and very personable."

What a gem!
"Again, I chose this hotel following Trip Advisor reviews and I am so glad I did (thanks fellow Trip Advisors!). The hotel is situated in a quiet road, but only five minutes' walk from the sea front, via the North Park. The car park is ample, which means there were never problems parking the car (something we value enormously). We received a warm welcome from Mary on arrival and were shown to a classic room (the owners are in the process of redecorating the rooms and some are in a more contemporary style). The room was absolutely spotless and there were generous provisions of tea, coffee, biscuits etc and the bathroom supplies were Gilchrist and Soames shower gel, soap and body lotion - what a treat! There was good wardrobe and drawer space too. Free WiFi is also available, although the best reception is on the landing (but a laptop and desk is provided there, should you need it). Meals were taken in a large, airy dining room, with lovely white, crisp tablecloths. The waiting staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good and with very generous portion sizes (in my opinion). Breakfasts were a delight too - do try the American pancakes. There is also a large lounge and bar area, again all beautifully decorated. It is also pleasing to note that the hotel has 5 stars for food hygiene in the Scores on the Doors scheme. Martin and Shaun only took over the running of this hotel last year and are already making a splendid effort and should be congratulated. I feel I should particularly mention how good the staff are - they really made the holiday - special praise particularly to the multi-talented Mary (again) who was not only receptionist, but a waitress as well!, Naomi (receptionist/waitress) and Ruth, a delightful young lady so full of enthusiasm, who waited on the tables. We were very fortunate that our visit coincided with Cromer Carnival - which was very enjoyable, especially the Red Arrows. And to top it all, the weather was great! I wish Martin and Shaun and their team every success for the future - they have a real gem of an hotel!"

Not the best Sunday lunch i have tasted
"Had Sunday lunch at this hotel because their own website says that it serves Norfolk sized portions of food. The food quality in general was fair, but four of us shared one bowl of veg which was impossible to split between us easily. The dish was small and piled too high, and some veg was way undercooked. The meal size was a little small . Dessert was better though, but overall the quality was about average. Didn't stay at the Hotel so i can't comment on the rooms."

Great from start to finish
"This is a great place to stay from every angle. The check-in was the best I've had for a long time; one of the partners came out from behind the desk to welcome us with a map of the area and lots of useful information up front, in spite of a large party booking in ahead of us and we were whisked up to our room without delay. The food and service were so good we decided to eat in on both nights of our stay and were rewarded with excellent local Cromer crab. The bar is a pleasant place to start the evening, the bedroom was a good size and very comfortable. The location is perfect for a short walk into the centre (through a park) or up the cliffs to the nature reserve and lighthouse for a great view of the town. The farewell was equally professional and warm. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends."

"Virginia Court Hotel Cromer Norfolk May 2009 My husband and I have just returned after a three day break at this hotel. We found the service excellent, the room was lovely and spacious and the food superb. We would recommend this hotel to all our family and friends as we could not fault it at all."
