If you want to be spoiled, stay at Bay Tree House B & B.
"This was the first time for us to use a B & B and not a hotel and we were not disappointed. We stayed in a standard double which was very comfortable and extremely well equipped with all of those little extras that you normaly have to pay four star hotel prices to receive. Robes, slippers, toiletries etc... Breakfasts were exceptionally good with a choice of freshly prepared dishes that easily beats many four and indeed five star hotels. We stayed 3 nights and look forward to our return. Our hosts, Alan and Tom provided a very warm welcome and did everything they could to make our stay an enjoyable one. We have no hesitation in recomending Bay Tree House to anyone looking for accomodation in this area."

"We really enjoyed our stay - you could see that a lot of thought and effort had gone into everything. The rooms were brilliant, clean, well decorated and furnished and all the little 'extras' made for a wonderful experience. Absolutely Fabulous"

Nothing is too much bother.
"I stayed here for 5 days with my mum and my 11 year old-it suited all of us. From the minute we arrived we were made very welcome. I had a different breakfast every day and my only complaint would be that i saved the best to last so couldn't repeat it- the pancakes, bacon and maple syrup are to die for! Alan and Tom are the perfect hosts-would not consider staying anywhere else in Southport."

Another great stay at Bay Tree House
"My friend and I just had our second visit to the Bay Tree House and again experienced a warm welcome and comfortable stay. A lovely new addition was the fresh milk in the fridge, which is a great addition to already fabulous tea tray (different teas & coffees, penguins, kit kats, jelly babies, smarties). The breakfast is great here and Allan and Tom and Sam the dog really do provide home from home comforts."

Quality, Friendly, 'what you see is really what you get'/ hotel.
"Returned home today after one nights overnight stay with partner, sister-in-laws and their patrners, (party of 6). Allan accommodated us all on the top floor of the B & B which was good as we were all on the same floor. From the second I booked it I knew it was the right choice. His phone manner was excellent and throughout the stay remained the same, nothing was too much trouble. Allan even rang the night before the stay to check the booking. He took suitcases up stairs for us and all the extras in the room (free chocolate, sweets, tea, coffee) was something alot do not offer. Loved the idea of being honest and putting your 'tip' into a porcelain piggy bank on the dresser for any items that you consumed from the mini bar, nice touch. The whole place was spotlessly clean, the bathroom had not one hair or one spec of dirty grout within the tiles, lots of extra toiletries, shoe cleaner, ironing board, slippers, bath robes etc., all fresh sheets and towels and the morning full breakfast was excellent and second helpings were on offer!! Breakfast actually finished at 9am, but he made it for us at 9.30am knowing that we all have small children and said he was 'enabling a lie in' for us all - excellent. I have stayed at Thistle's, Raddisons, Hilton Hotels etc., and this was by far the better of them all, it is the small personal touches that matter. A superb stay, will be recommending you to friends and family and hope to see you again soon. Thank you so much for a quality stay Allan. Best wishes to you, Mel McBride (Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria - overnight stay 01.07.2009)."

Exceptionally good quality with a very warm welcome
"We decided to book the whole of the hotel so all the family could celebrate a 60th wedding anniversary together in Southport. The tailormade package included accomodation, an evening meal and breakfast the following day for everyone. It was the best decision we could have made for the occassion and we have discovered a true gem in Southport's B&B scene. Tom & Allan (the owners) were helpful right from the start - they reply quickly to any email enquiries you may have and were on hand to welcome us when we arrived. The rooms are very, very good for a B&B-style hotel. Excellent quality fittings and furnishings, with modern en-suite bathrooms. Thoughtful little extras - such as top-of-the-range toiletries, selection of books and DVDs, biscuits and sweets - make this seem much more like a boutique hotel than a seaside B&B. All rooms are individual and the property itself has lots of character. The bright and airy lounge area is very comfortable, with a bar available (complete with 'honesty box' for payment!). If you ever want to leave the property then it is very centrally located for both town centre and beach. But what really sets this hotel apart from the competition is the quality of the food on offer. For our 5-course family meal in the evening, there was a choice of 4 dishes per course which were served by dedicated waiting staff. The food was truly fantastic - really restaurant quality - which is testament to the talent and passion Tom & Allan have for their business. Breakfast the next day was similiarly impressive - a choice of breakfasts, complete with self-service fruit and cereal, as well as a wide selection of juices. Absolutely amazing start to the day. In conclusion, every single member of the family could not recommend this property highly enough. It really does have everything, and little surprise it has featured in The Guardian's list of best British B&Bs. Go and stay to see for yourself - you won't be disappointed!"

Best English B&B we have stayed in
"Our Hosts Matthew and Alan were most welcoming , we were able to take our small dog. The room was small but tastefully decorated and very clean. There were lots of extra little touches which made a difference such as a selection of dvd's to watch, slippers and housecoats, plenty of drinks and sweets with plenty of fresh milk for the coffee available in the fridge. The breakfast was absolutely first class ! We will certainly return if we are up that way again"

Excellent and outstanding
"I stayed at Bay Tree House whilst visiting my father in hospital. The accommodation is of a very high standard. It is immaculately clean. The quality of the bedding and fixtures and fittings are superb. The hosts provide an extensive bar in the room, along with everything you could need. The breakfasts are out of this world - that porridge with cream whisky , demarera and honey-- heavenly!!! The hosts give a wonderful welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. I wholeheartedly recommend Bay Tree House."
