"Only just got back and I thought that the hotel, the cleanliness the food and the staff were absolutly fablulous, the pools were wonderful and the mix of Polish, Russian, German, Franch and Egyptian guests seemed to work so well. It is a quiet resort so if you want wall to wall English, chips and discos-go to Spain. One word of warning is that you will need shoes for the sea-also the diving centre was not open due to 'problem with the manager' best check if that is what you want to do."

"I called Room Service for 2 pints of Stella. I was advised to use the Mini Bar, but it was almost empty and the previous guests had left things in it, such as areoplane tickets. He gave me two bottles of warm Peroni. As they were both warm, I said I would prefer the Stella from Room Service. He sighed and looked annoyed, but finally agreed to get them. I was told "I donât normally get orders during the day" and "Donât worry, I have a drinking problem too" and asked "Do we sell stella here?" . He brought the drinks which were spilling all over the tray & told me that the hotel did not sell Stella, so he had got us 2 pints of Bud instead. He poured the spillages in my bathroom sink & asked me for £5:70. I asked if I could charge it to the room, he said I could not, even though I had preauthorised a credit card to my room. I was charged for items I did not have from the mini bar. When I wrote to the manager, finally 9 months later he responded âWe still will not be offering a refund for the consumed minibar itemsâ Not even an apology!!!! "

"I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this hotel was. I knew it had won awards for its service but it really lived up to its reputation. Decided to go for a quick break and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel itself was lovely, the rooms were equipped with everything we needed and I thought the Harbour Club was an added bonus, really loved relaxing in the hot tub and having a steam before going out."

unimpressed by service
"A group of 9 stayed. We paid £140 per room. We arrived at 3.30pm and were told that one of the rooms was not ready as house keeping were still in there. (Check in is allowed from 2pm)No apology for this inconvenience. We were just told to come back later. We put our bags in 1 room and left for a wander round the centre (extremely busy). The rooms were a decent size with a nice en suite. Blacked out curtains were great and kept the room dark up until my partner got out of bed at 11.30am. Check out was a nightmare. This process took us 40 minutes. They had put us in the wrong rooms and were trying to get us to pay for things we hadn't even used such as minibar and breakfast. (£50 extras) The fact it took them 40 minutes to sort out the invoices was a joke for a 4star hotel. The lady even left us in the middle of sorting this out to go and deal with another customer complaint. To sum up: Positives: was a nice clean hotel. good sized rooms with a nice view over river. Check out not until 12pm. Location was definitley the best point Negatives: service provided by staff at reception very disappointing. Not quite worth the money despite the location being ideal."

"My wife and I stayed for 1 night during the Matthew St Festival and found the hotel, especially the staff, excellent. Our room, although booked as non-smoking, had a smell of tobacco and I found a fag had been stubbed out in one of the water drinking glasses but when we mentioned this to reception, they immediately dispatched a cleaning team to freshen up the room. The staff on the whole were excellent especially at the front desk and in the health club. Mind you the Liverpudlians are incredibly warm and friendly which is so refreshing as I normally live in London so appreciate the natural warmth of northeners. Oh and the breakfast was probaly the best I've had in a hotel - the lady frying the eggs knew how to do cook a proper fried egg! Marvellous!"

Absolutely great hotel!!
"Out of my whole stay in england this is by far my favourite hotel. it was just great. i stayed with my family and just loved it! the outside was very well kept and well presented and looked very fancy. the reception is just lovely. it is large , open and very modern and the staff were very friendly. the bar is extremely nice and you get a free bowl of a variety of nuts!!! although the coffee is quite expensive. the elevators and hallways to the rooms are very warm and welcoming . the rooms are very cosy , warm and attractive. all facilities are there with excellents bathrooms, the rooms are clean and you get complementary chocolates and bottles of water aswell as a bathrobe. the leisure facilities are brilliant . everything is as clean as clean could be. the pool is lovely as well as the jacuzzi , steam room and sauna. and finally ,,, the breakfast was the best i had on that stay . everything was well laid out ,, they had cereal , fruit , youghurts , hot food , breads , pastries etc...... ( try the scrambled egg !!!!!! )"

Fabulous hotel!! Friendly staff! Would stay again & again. The best!!!
"This was the best hotel I stayed at during my 11 day tour of the United Kingdom. The hotel was immaculate and the staff was so friendly and helpful. I felt that they truly went out of their way to ensure my stay was pleasant. It was so nice to be in a hotel where everything seemed new and clean. The room was big and bright. The location was perfect. Very close to Albert Dock and the subway station. I can't begin to tell you what a delight my stay at the Crowne Plaza in Liverpool was!!"

Great family break
"We stayed in a family room during the recent half term break. Central location opposite the Liver Building, fronting the docks. Leisure facilities brilliant - the children (age 12 and 10) loved the pool, sauna, steam room and spa. Restaurant first class with excellent, friendly service. Dinner (2 course) bed and breakfast £160 per ROOM per night excellent value. Highly recommend."

a number of stays, all good
"I stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions in May/June 2006. Shortest stay was one night, longest 3 nights. All stays were £101 (advance purchase rate) a night, booked on Priorityclub. The rooms were uniformly good - most of my stays were in 4th floor rooms with river views. These rooms do have larger windows than room on the other floors. One stay on the 3rd floor, to compensate for the smaller window (!), this room had a plasma TV and DVD player, as well as a full desk. Excellent staff and location as well, recommended"

Clean and Friendly
"I stayed overnight on business at a price of £119 B&B. The hotel is spotlessly clean, I booked non-smoking and the room did not appear to have been smoked in previously, staff are really friendly and helpful, TV has terrestrial and Sky Sports channels, movies at a cost. the pool and gym facilities looked great although I did not use them, the breakfast was superb, and the location really central, just a short taxi ride away from the nightlife. I would not hesitate to return. I cannot comment on car parking as I did not have one."

"I stayed for one night mid-week. I had stayed on one previous occasion. Although not cheap (£140 bed and breakfast, plus as people have noted £5 for parking) I could not fault this hotel in any respect. It is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The restaurant is excellent. The breakfast is, in my opinion, without equal. Above all it is the consistent friendliness, efficiency and attentiveness of the staff that stands out. I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation at all. I noticed that Malmaison are building next door, but I just cannot see how they can hope to offer any serious competition in terms of quality."
