A very warm and friendly hotel.
"My Wife and I stayed here last year for our honeymoon. I can not say anything negative at all. The food was lovely and the bedroom was clean and tidy as was the hotel itself. A big thank you to Phil the restaurant manager and his staff, we hadn't told anyone we were on honeymoon. Other guests told Phil, and we were treated very well indeed. We are definatly returning this year. This hotel is brilliant if you are disabled, as my wife is."

You can't please everyone
"Stayed for 2 nights and found the food very good, having stayed here some years ago I noticed there had been a change in some of the old staff and the new staff were much nicer and helpful, that is except the doorman/porter who watched us struggle with our luggage and was too busy chatting to even hold the door for us. We didn't see him do anything except chat or lean against the front desk all the time we were there.(Take note management I wouldn't pay them in washers) The rooms are basic but for a short stay adequate and lovely and warm. Be warned the parking is a nightmare and traffic wardens are patrolling from 9am we saw several cars with parking fines on them."

"The ruskin hotel was terrible, the assistant manager was a joke, i even managed to find a towel with excrement on it, then when a complained i was basicly called a liar by the assistant manager. the towel had obviously came out another room but they refused to accept this, was extremly annoyed considering i had a 1 year old with me, and at the time my partner was expecting! the food was terrible, the room was not clean, the tv was fuzzy, the double bed was infact two beds stuck together, they werent even the same height! the shower had lime scale all round it, the windows were dirty and it was too loud at night due to there terrible entertainment, one of the days the room was not hoovered, i complained, so the same asst manager came up and hoovered, looked under the bed and found a chip, then told me i was untidy!!! all i could do was laugh! when i returned home i reported them to the environmental health, best advice i can give you is just DONT GO!!!!"

nightmare on albert street
"what a nightmare stay at the hotel. states it it a family and couple orintated hotel, but when we stayed a coach party stayed and the noise was on until the early hours, will the entertannment on until 3am, the we had the guests from the entertanment bang doors and shouting to the early hours. we made a complant to the manager but told to book at other times of the year " i dont think we will". if you like noise then its for you, but if its a quiet break stay away."

Turkey & Tinsel
"We enjoyed two very enjoyable Turkey and Tinsel holidays during December 2008 and January 2009. Both were very enjoyable and very good value for money. We have booked again for this year. Food and staff excellent John B North Wales"

"We have stayed at the Ruskin the last 4 years at Christmas, but this year we were really disappointed, standards appeared to have gone down hill, the menus have never changed in the past 4 years, everything was so predictable, we have even had the same bedroom, while new customers have been allocated an "upgrade", our bedroom is now so very outdated and shabby - the wardrobe is a recess with a curtain - not exactly worth the £380 ..on a positive note we did know some other people therefore the company was appreciated..Come on Ruskin, you may lose your staunch regulars"

disappointed regular visitor
"have spent christmas at the Ruskin for the past seven years and have made some nice friends.. This year the staff were as always, friendly and helpful particularly reception. Restaurant staff very friendly and food excellent as always. However standards of cleanlines have certainly deteriorated . Our room (badly in need of refurbishment ) and rooms of other members of our party were not cleaned properly and lounge area was not cleaned properly. Such a shame to see standards dropping like this. Am undecided about returning."
