21 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
"This hotel is very clean, there is parking (although people are complaining??? Don't understand why they are complaining do they expect a garage!! a car parking space is a space???) Very friendly staff, lovely full English breakfast, walking distance to the center of Blackpool, Perfect. Stayed here 5 years on the run. The only reason not a 10 is the rooms could do with a bit of a refurbishment, but very clean and comfortable. Just booked to go again next week. "

"We stayed at the Lawton on the Friday and Saturday night and loved it. There were a few stag and hen parties there but everyone was so friendly it was like one big group of friends. There were also older couples and they seemed to enjoy it. It is nosey sometimes but thas the noise outside and thats no-one fault just the fact you are in blackpool on a street filled with hotels.
We enjoyed the company and location of the hotel in relation to all the amenities. The rooms can range in size but they are all we really required (somewhere to wash, change and sleep) everything was clean although some rooms need a little attention but nothing disgusting. The breakfast was nice even after a few too many drinks and really liked the attitude of the people working there.
Altogether loved it! Thank you for making us feel so welcome!
Definately one of the better looking hotels.

THIS IS THE PITS!!!!!!!
"This hotel was the pits!!!!!, me my wife and son stayed here for one night, one night to long. The room was a disgrace, there was a large stain on the carpet where someone had been sick, not cleaned properly could still see it and worst than that still smell it. The shower temp dial was broken so you could only shower in boiling water which was dangerous. The toilet door would not shut when you sat on the toilet. the breakfast would not have fed a moose, and was bogging, i would never go back to fawlty towers, all what was missing was basil and manuel."

"We had a fantasatic time and would definately book back into The Lawton on any return trips we have to Blackpool. We had a triple room which was clean and big enough to accomodate the three of us and all of our stuff.
The staff were all friendly and helpful and went out of there way to ensure we had as good a time as possible ...which we did :)!
Now...I'm just wondering....how did "Mr Natwest" get on at his rave? lol"

Dirty! Dirty! Dirty!
"I was booked in for 6 nights ( 3 of us ) one twin and one single, on arrival I asked to see the room before I checked in. was taken to room in a very dogey lift the receptionist said he thought it was just about to break down!! The room had three beds in it and you could barely move, the beds looked dirty creased bed linen valences stained (badly) fitted sheets lifting off to reveal incontinence pads!!! the minute shower room Dirty!! I said it was dirty he showed me another room it was worse...apart from the filth there was a crowd of drunken youths in reception area ..the hotel specialises in stag and hen parties...(lovely) on this I left and found another b&b over the road clean and quiet.....Only stay here if your on a hen or stag and want to get drunk and vomit every where they wont mind they dont clean anyway...."

A very enjoyable stay!
"I can't really understand the bad reviews left for this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights (Mon-Thurs) and would definitely go back. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean (although rather small but we didn't find that very important) and it was very quiet.
The only complaint I would have is that on the morning we were leaving, the shower wouldn't heat up. No problems with it any other time.
Unfortunately, we never got to sample the food but I heard from others that it was lovely."

doss house by the sea
"upon arrival we were asked to pay £5 each for a key to the room. ok so we gets to our room and it stinks of drains, we are reluctantly moved to another room. the room is so small that you get claustrophobic in the toilet.
some rooms have a larger bathroom than our full room
this is a hotel looking for the hen/stag parties who dont care where they stay.
well let them have it
we wont be going anywhere near the place again"

We Will Be Back - Full Marks To The Lawton !!
"We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Lawton. This hotel caters for everyone - families, couples and groups. Its also situated perfectly for all the amenties, shops and bars.
We booked in for a long weekend break and loved every minute, the staff were always friendly and helpful and would always find that extra time to make sure our stay was a memorable one !!
We`d like to thank the staff, particulary - Alexis and Amanda for treating us to a fab weekend.
The rooms are comfortable and plenty big enough, and the lounge and bar areas are lively but not to the extreme.
We would recommend anyone looking for a short stay in Blackpool, whether it be for the illuminations with the family or a weekend away with friends, the Lawton Hotel !!
We will be back in 2009 for definite.
Keep it up guys...see you soon !!"

Just the job
"The hotel is very well placed within the centre of Blackpool. Great for all the attractions and nightlife. The staff are very friendly and rooms are well maintained and clean. Rooms are competitly priced compared to other hotels in the area.

Fawlty Towers is giving them a compliment
"The hotel is well placed for all the "attractions" of Blackpool. That's the only thing going for it. Rooms are not very clean, beds are substandard, windows either did not open or one we had did not close. The water wasn't hot and the electricity kept going off. Wallpaper hanging off the walls. Full of stag, hen and parties with people partying in rooms all night until 8am and running around slamming doors. No consideration for other guests. Staff were miserable. Tea & coffee making facilities in room with one teaspoon for the whole room! Breakfast was swimming in grease and largely inedible. This place is disgusting and doesn't merit the three stars it gives itself. Do yourselves a favour a book the Travelodge instead!"
