"I stayed here with a friend and noticed a week later this money had been takEn from the bank account account without my knowledge. When i rang to complain the lady said it was for cleaning the carpet of dog muck and the towels friend supposedly gave the cleaner (which he never did !!!!!! If you have ever stopped here before you will realize the carpets needed a good clean before we even stayed there I received no refund ,no receipts from them To prove any work had been carried out and to top it out the money was taken the day we departed so i suggest you pay with credit card or cash but not A DEBIT CARD as you can see what may happen to you too.PLEASE READ EMAIL BELOW AND MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND Dear Mr. Spence, I have had no reply to my letter of 13th July 2014 so I will copy it here…… “ WITHOUT PREJUDICE”. Room 309 had to have specialist cleaning because of traces of dog poo on the carpet and the towels had to be thrown away for the same reason. This was because the dogs were left alone in the hotel room with no exercise. Also the room could not be let for several days because of the smell. You have been charged a nominal figure of £50 although if you wish to pursue this matter further the exact figures which are much higher will be provided for you, best wishes, Cynthia @ Ambassador, Blackpool "

FAULTY TOWERS

"When we arrived the staff was confused as to how many rooms we order and said we needed to pay which we had already done so before our arrival. There was a party of 8 of us. When we arrived at our room it smelt of the sewers. The room had not been cleaned. The carpet was filthy. The lino in the bathroom was torn. The windows was sealed shut. We was told to go down for breakfast between 9-9.30am for a buffet breakfast. We arrived down there at 9.15 and there was nothing left and no more food was brought out. We checked out of the hotel at 10am and was still stuck in the car park at 11.15 with the staff not knowing who the cars belonged to and what rooms they was in. They was no help what so ever. We will definitely not be returning again."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in Blackpool at the Ambassador Hotel. We found our welcome extremely friendly, the rooms were lovely and very clean - great view over the sea. Breakfast was great and super efficient and again friendly check-out too. We're telling all our friends to stay with the Ambassador. We were delighted when some friends returned and thanked us for our recommendation. They were told that the hotel are currently is programming a refurb - this'll be great for when we next plan our trip to Blackpool ."

"We do not normally write reviews after staying weekends away, however there are times like this one where we feel the need to speak out about exceptional customer service. We both had a wonderful stay over our weekend last month. The staff were genuinely attentive from the moment we arrived through to the moment we left. The great location let us explore the nightlife (shows) easily, but we were able to get 2 nights sound sleep in a roomy comfortable room. We plan on visiting Blackpool again soon and will definately stay at the Ambassador again. Thank you to all the staff."

"Although we did not stay at this hotel whilst attempting to book a number of upsetting and off putting occurances happened. On the first call in which we were attempting to book my boyfriend was trying to find the card to pay on the response from the staff member was "ill have to leave it"...she then immediately put the phone down. I then tried to get a complaints number or address from her to which she said "no,sorry" and "it doesnt matter how many times you complain we are privately owned it wont make any difference" .As you can imagine this woman came across as very rusde and i would not consider going anywhere near her hotel if this is what she considers customer service."

Fawlty Towers is a 4* compared to this hotel!!!!

"We booked a 4 night stay and only stayed for the one night, we arrived and first impressions look a nice hotel, on walking in and seeing wet paint signs everywhere and a few holes in the ceiling did start to wonder but thought give it a go as they looked as if they where trying to make improvements and the receptionist was extremely polite and helpful. Once getting to the room however it went down hill, we had to nearly ram the door to get it open and nearly fall over the bed as it was quite small, though the bathroom looked like it had just had a makeover and was quite nice though floor was slanted. We went back to reception and asked to be moved but the gentleman couldn't and needed to get hold of someone for approva, so we popped into the centre had a look round and coming back to the hotel 2 hours later, same gentleman said he had 2 rooms for us to have a look at one on 2nd floor which looked nice for what we looked at and then one on the 4th floor but as soon as you went up the smell was awful and it even surprised him. We stopped for the evening meal and it was fine and talking to other people stopping in the hotel the even told us it was more like Fawlty Towers but the food was lovely and they'd probably come back next year WHY!!!!! After going back to the room noticed that floors was uneven and the floor boards need nailing down, and then in the bathroom the shower was held together with string there was mold along the floor under the sink and round most of the floor edge and the walls are very thin as next door decided to make loud noises in the very early hours ( and yes i know thats not the hotel fault) And once morning came round you can't find anyone at reception util after 9.00 once breakfast has started which is hot at least. But one speaking to the lady on the desk and telling her we wanted to check out and have money back she wanted to see the room. And she didn't now what to say about the shower, she did try to persuade us to stay by giving us another room but we just couldn't contemplate staying any longer, and we went and booked into the Savoy hotel and it only cost us an extra £70. So i would definately would not recommend staying at the Ambassador"

"The front entrance was clean, dont be fooled. We were on the fourth floor, lift not good. Room 407 smelt, carpet dirty, cup stains all over dressing table, could not see out of windows. Curtains hanging off rail. The water came out of the taps very slowly. Hot water took at least 15 mins to come through. TV did not work properly, supposed to be freeview only get one channel, if lucky. Really disappointed."
