hole in shower cubicle ceiling
"This is the complaint I sent...no response ...take you money then ignore you..disgusting
My partner and I were recently guests at the Lyndene for 2 nights in July during our trip
The entire experience ruined our entire vacation/my Birthday and we will never be staying at your hotel or recommending it to any of our friends again.
The room was not at all what we booked and had we have known the state of the bathroom we would have never chosen to stay at your hotel. the bathroom shower cubicle had a large hole/part of panel missing in the ceiling. Making it very uncomfortable to shower and use the toilet, we felt our privacy was violated.
We would like a refund for our total stay.
We feel that we were completely miss-led via your website, booking process and the very positive feedback that we had received from our friends.
Awaiting your prompt reply,
KCurran and ABarnlsey"

"I have just returned from staying at this place and was never happier to get home. The decor was drab and very dated, even the curtain rods in the bar were just so rusty. Everything was tacky.
The car parking was horrendous and once we were eventually parked we were blocked in and could not get out again The waitress in the in the Connaught dining basement had the most miserable disposition, it did not smile once. If you dislike the job so much honey? Get out and give your job to someone with less grump. The so called bathroom was smaller than my wardrobe.
The whole experience was dire a and depressing. NEVER AGAIN."

Shocking staff and Manager no time for you!!!!!!!!
"Booked this hotel for a family stay, 8 rooms for 15 of us, originally called and checked the hotel for a price then 2 weeks later book through late rooms as it was £500 cheaper than the original price the hotel quoted, after 5 months and only 2 weeks before we went we were informed by the hotel that any money we had paid had been put on the original inquiry and that we had to pay £2000 for our stay other than the £1566 we got from late rooms!!
After many phone calls of anger and never getting to speak to the manager the only offer they gave us was to pay the full amount or cancel and lose £150 to which we had no option but to, I then said to the staff member that I will just go and re-book through late rooms and his answer was do that if you want but we will not accommodate the disabled person as when you book through these sites its the smallest doubles room we have that you will get and we will not accommodate a wheelchair user.
Will never even look in the direction of this hotel never mind visit it again.
£150 for admin fees...!!!!!!!!! It's a joke. "

Comfortable, Clean and Good Value
"I had booked this hotel simply as a cheap place to stay overnight when in Blackpool for a concert - only £28 for the two of us! It was definitely aimed at the more mature age group when we stayed, with evening entertainment and excursions available. Lots of information provided in room and a process for parking which involved arranging with anyone you block in for them to get out. Stayed in room 129. Had a double bed and two singles to ourselves. Decor and furniture generally so, so but everything was clean and functional. Absolutely giant remote control - assume this is to help for mature people's eyesight and dexterity. Shower was fine. Tea & coffee making facilities (although if you use the sachets and milk up you are supposed to have to pay for more, but the late night barman gave more to us). Didn't stay for breakfast. Mealtimes appeared a bit 'butlins' with set 'sittings' but again can't comment on food because didn't eat any. Would stay again."

"This is our 4th visit to the Lyndine in the last year and we have always had an enjoyable time. The rooms were average size and were cleaned daily, clean towels were left and linen mid week. Food and service in the restraunt is always good. Being in our 40's with two teenage children the entertainment on an evening could be a little bit more up to date but overall is enjoyable. There is a nice friendly atmosphere and is well worth a visit !"

would not return
"We had checked this hotel before we arrived and did not have any great hopes for it but it seemed ok and was very cheap. We were going mainly for the entertainment which was very good.
The hotel is let down by the state of the interior and the food which was dire. We went up to the third floor in an ancient lift which was dirty. We had a sea view room which was very small, the window handles had been broken and not repaired. Although the bathroom had been newly refurbished it was also extremely small. The room door had been forcibly broken in sometime and was repaired with a few screws into the door casing, not a very inviting beginning. Most room doors were in a poor state of repair.
The food was made with very cheap ingredients although many people seemed to enjoy it! We managed part of one breakfast and part of one evening meal, after that we ate out.
One entertainment room has been newly refurbished and was lovely, the other is very dated and worn.
If you dont mind poor quality food and very small rooms and can put up with some of the interior then you get a very cheap weekend with great entertainment."

"We stayed at the Lyndene Hotel in Blackpool in November 2007. The room we were allocated was exeptionally small, there was no room to move around. The furniture was very shabby and did not match at all. We only got clean towels on arrival, the maids came in daily but did not leave clean towels daily.
The entertainment was geared up for elderly people. We are in our 50's but felt like we were in a pensioners club!! Very disappointing indeed.
The food was average, the waiters were very pleasant."
