The perfect place to be
"St Augustine Villa is the place to stay . The accommodation was exceptionally clean - the cleanest hotel we have ever been too. Bed was super comfy & even had an electric blanket. The views from all our windows were gorgeous overlooking the seafront. Breakfast was just right, which can be served either in the sunny conservatory or in the dining room. You really cannot beat this place! The proprietors Bob & Esme are very friendly and welcoming, and gave plenty of advice about places to eat and visit. The hotel is within very easy walking distance to a pub and restaurants along the promenade and also within easy reach of the town where there are more restaurants. If you enjoy walking (quite steep roads) and eating out, St Augustine Villa is ideally located. The coastal walks are out of this world."

Spectacular Views, Welcoming Owners & Quality Accomodation
"We stayed here for a Week in Room 6, the Superior Room which is at top of hotel and overlooking harbour and seafront. Room was very luxurious, and had its own whirlpool bath en suite and just up a few steps we had a great size bedroom with a king size bed and very tasteful decor throughout. The views are triple aspect and you have an absolutely amazing view and you can hear the sea all night long :) Bob & Esme are very friendly and welcoming, the cooked breakfasts are impeccable and Esme is a most attentive host. The only gripe I had was the small car park, but, it was no problem for us as we used the local bus network for the week so the car had a good rest :) I highly recommend the hotel and would definately return again should we holiday in Ventnor in the future :)"

Great Base for visiting the island
"We stayed here for a weekend break from London, we couldn't have made a better choice. Esme and Bob are wonderful hosts, the room (a Superior with a lovely sea view) was nice, clean and spacious, the shower room unremarkable, the double bed was so comfortable you didn't want to get up in the morning..and when you finally did, you would be served a lovely breakfast...we went by motorbike, there were another two couples with bikes that weekend, we all managed to park in the small car-park at the front..A good restaurant nearby is the Ale and Oyster, better book in advance though, avoid the "Rex piano-bar" at all costs, nice location but very slow service, with a waiter who got extremely aggressive and even insulting when we politely pointed out that we had been waiting for a long time for our dessert (we were one of only two parties left at that point)."

Victorian and charming
"This is a very good b and b situated just before Ventnor seafront and just under the Winter Gardens. Its worst aspect is the parking as it is limited and cramped, but you cope! The room we stayed in was spacious and comfy with a sea view. Breakfast was lovely and Esme a relaxed hostess. The front at Ventnor has lots of places to eat and idle and if weather permits sunbathe!"

Excellent location with sea views
"My husband and I stayed in Room 6 which is located in the tower at the top of the hotel. The ensuite room is unusual in that it has two floors - bathroom on lower floor and bedroom on upper floor. We liked this feature. The accommodation was exceptionally clean - the cleanest hotel we have ever been to! There is parking at the hotel but limited spaces - this was not a problem as we were there in March. It was very quiet in the hotel and fantastic to have sea views from all of the windows. The cooked breakfast was excellent with very generous portions. The proprietors Bob and Esme Williamson were very helpful and friendly and gave plenty of advice about places to eat and visit. The hotel is within very easy walking distance to a pub and restaurants along the promenade and also within easy reach of the town wher there are more restaurants. If you enjoy walking (quite steep roads) and eating out, then Harbour View (St Augustine Villa - is reverting to original name) is ideally located."

"This hotel has recently changed its name to St. Augustine Villa, but the owners remain the same as mentioned on Harbour View Hotels website. It's a very clean and really tastefully decorated place with some stunning pictures and furniture. The views are wonderful! Having breakfast overlooking the sea and harbour every morning was a delight. We booked a superior room a few months before our trip and were advised on the phone that they were about to redecorate and remodel their two top rooms. So when we walked into our room it was a very pleasant surprise! We had a spacious bathroom/dressing room with a lovely jacuzzi bath. And up a quaint staircase to the bedroom, which was great! Crisp white bed linen and a great big comfortable bed - surrounded by sea views all around! Esme and Bob were very welcoming and friendly and the hotel was quiet and filled with well mannered guests. If you're looking for accomadation close to the beach and restaurants in Ventnor I'd reccomend this hotel. Good value for money and exceeded our expectations."

Wonderful Views and Great Breakfast
"A really wonderful bed and breakfast. The couple that run it are really friendly and happy to help you with any questions you may have. We stayed in room 8, which had the most amazing view of the sea. The breakfast was great with lots of choice. It is near town, which although is not full of pubs and restaurants there are a few decent ones. Try the 'Ale and Oyster' house just down the road from the BnB. We cycled there, watch out for the hill in to Ventnor, but the BnB is well worth it and thankfully the shower was nice and powerful!"

Great hotel,...best location....excellent staff!
"Just had a very enjoyable few days on the Isle of Wight ( and had originally intended to stay at a different hotel every night)...our first night's stay (by off-chance)was at the Harbour View Hotel in Ventnor (room 7) and because we felt so comfortable and so much 'at home' in this beautiful Victorian building which had all the charm and atmosphere from a different era...we could not stir ourselves to go anywhere else! The 'sea-views' from our bedroom reminded me of being on board a 'luxury cruiser'....but without sea sickness! .... the building is tastefully decorated to a very high standard. only 2 complaints....the breakfasts were too delicious and I put on a few pounds!...and my wife would have preferred to have had a bath in the en-suite bathroom...to give it its due the existing double 'power shower' unit was excellent but my wife would have preferred to have had that additional facility. ...also....a couple of days running the newspapers arrived a bit late (we are early risers).... ...in the end we stayed the whole 5 days in Ventnor and thoroughly enjoyed it!...nearly forgot...the six foot width super king size bed was an incredible experience."
