A comfortable and welcoming haven at the end of a long day
"Thanks to Jim and Alison for a warm welcome and a very comfortable stay - just what we'd needed after walking from Brighstone! Best breakfast we had during our long weekend on the island. Never been offered fresh fruit salad with greek yoghurt before."

Lovely place - Great Hosts
"Jim and Alison run a lovely little B&B and are a charming and hospitable couple. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast a superb affair. Jim and Alison spend time chatting to their guests and make you feel as though you are friends in their home. Highly recommended."

Superd accomodation, service and food!
"Situated in the heart of Sandown, close to all amenities and the Beach, the Belmore far exceeded my expectations. I travelled to the IOW with my elderly Mother for a short break to surprise my sister for her Birthday and needed suitable accomodation for a disabled guest. The downstairs room was excellent for my Mum who needed ground floor access and made her stay comfortable. My room was of the same excleent standard and equally as comfortable. The rooms were exceptionally clean, with little touches that you would not expect from a Guest House/hotel and were decorated to a high standard throughout. Breakfast was wonderful , with a lovely fresh fruit salad, cereals, yogurt, toast , AND a huge cooked breakfast, which you just couldn't finish! Jim and Alison , the owners, showed incredible generosity and made us feel truly welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. Wonderful service, with a true dedication to ensuring you have a great stay is the aim of The Belmore, and I would recommend it to anyone travelling to the IOW, whatever their age, or group size."

Comfortable room & awesome breakfast
"I stayed during the Easter break in Bellmore. Jim and Alison are really great host. It is very close to the High Street, just 3-4 min walk from the Bus Stand and Sea Beach. When we entered the room we were pleasently surprised by its cleanliness and ample space. The bed was well prepared, Coffee table was well laid with Coffee, tea, sugar etc. Though coffee biscuits could have been a welcome addition. The wardrobe was spacious. Room had an iron board, iron, hair dryer, electric kettle, tv (albeit a very small one :( ). The bathroom was very neat n tidy. Had a collection of bath gel n shampoo from M&S. Bath towels were very clean and of good quality. There is a also collection of books, novels and games in the lobby. Breakfast was very good and high quality. I enjoyed the full English breakfast and loved the crispy bacons. My wife enjoyed the veggie breakfast. We have stayed at a number of B&Bs and never got good veggie breakfast. But at Bellmore it was too good. Jim and Alison are very hospitable and enjoy what they do. Highly Recommended."

Superb stay - clean, friendly, good food
"Service was outstanding - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the island The room was extremely clean, possibly the cleanest place that we've ever stayed at. The room had nice little touches, like wine glasses and a bottle opener as well as the usual coffee cups, biscuits and tea and coffee. There was also surprisingly, but very beneficially, a fridge. Perfect for storing wine, cold drinks and snacks. Stayed in the 4 poster room which was a good size, with large wardrobe, hairdryer, TV. Shower seemed to be connected to other things within the house, as occasionally would not be very strong and would go very hot. Not a major deal, as happened rarely. Location was good - everything is easy to get to, but it is close to restaurants and pubs, the seafront and easy to get anywhere really. Lots of information at the B&B about places to visit. Food - very good full English breakfast, with plenty of other options available. Really pretty dining room that was a pleasure to eat in. Incredibly cost effective to stay here. Seemed cheaper than the B&B that is close by, yet seemed much nicer. Would definitely recommend for either families or a romantic break and will definitely return."

Very good standard. Lovely owners
"It had been about 3 years since I had been across to the Isle of Wight, and longer than that since I had been back to the Belmore. Not because I had had a bad experience there, far from it. The past owners had sold up and I just hadn't got round to going back, and really thought that nothing could compare with their ownership. I was extremley pleased to find that the Belmore is in the best of hands again. Alison and Jim are doing an excellent job and are to be congratulated. All their rooms are clean and bright and fresh, and the twin room I had was decorated to a very good standard. with the ensuite being exceptional. Breakfast was served between 8-9, and was really very good indeed. It was lovely to see fresh fruit being served as well as cereals and yogurt. I had the full cooked breakfast each morning which comprised of sausage, bacon, fried egg, tomato, beans and mushrooms. There was plenty of choice of other options including haddock and poached egg. Plus as much toast and tea and coffee as you wanted. If I had one quibble, and it was only one it was that my bath towel was a little scratchy, but apart from that there was nothing to pick fault with. The Belmore is in a good location, very close to the front and the amenties including public transport. Well done Alison and Jim."

best shower ever but couldn't take it home
"See there website for their guest comments and you will see how good it is[-----------] After staying in so many B&B's with no hot water, mildew shower curtains it was a delight to see fresh clean rooms, en-suite's, and with thermostatic controls and with door's on showers, and can Mick cook a breakfast .A+++"
