well worth the money
"Very well received by all the staff. Rooms very clean with comfortable bed. We had a quiet back room facing the duck pond. Restaurant next door, but very run of the mill for dinner or breakfast. Fast food McDonald's on site, also a good car hand car wash. Would stay here again if in the area"

Avoid the restaurant
"The only negative thing I have about the actual hotel was the fact you could hear other guests' (must admit, loud ) TVs on either side or guests moving about above but the very friendly staff sort the noise problem rapidly. It's a below average priced hotel so there are no extras but it's clean and everything is next to new, shower was hot and we had view onto pond. Why I rate this a three overall is due to the restaurant where meals and breakfast are taken. The weekend I was there (ate in the evening) it was under-staffed (don't know if this is a regular occurence) so service was very slow but I must say, the staff are very cheerful and friendly. One piece of advice; it is tasty food but only eat there if you're not in a rush and go to the bar for your drinks if you're thirsty. You need 2 good hours for a starter and main. Places weren't set (without place mats) you have to do it yourself but if they were this would only add to the wait... Other thing, if you order a paper you have to pick it up at reception."

Out of town but nevertheless a good place to stay.
"We stayed at the Premier Inn for the weekend. It was ideal for this purpose, and very much came up to expectations. We would have preferred to have stayed nearer the centre of town but Clacton has a surprising lack of hotels for a seaside resort. The hotel is easy to find, modern, the service was efficient, and the breakfast plentiful and good quality. Reception is open 24 hours which we found useful as we arrived back quite late on Saturday evening. Although the hotel is on the main road into Clacton we had no problems with noise. Everything in the room worked perfectly okay. It is a pity they have removed the children's playroom that they used to have, but that aside we had no cause to complain about any aspect of our stay. All in all very good value especially if you have young children. We will probably stay here again on our next visit."

excellent value for money
"we stayed at the travel inn for only 1 night after booking a 3 night stay at a hotel on clacton seafront, which was discusting, unclean and falling apart, so we had to find somewhere else to stay, which was the travel inn, i had the best nights sleep in days, the room was clean and tidy, also quiet, i have stayed in a few travel inns around the uk and all are as standard and very reasonably priced."

No frills but good for what it is
"I've just had my third stay at this Travel Inn and find that it is does what it says on the packet ie clean, quiet and comfortable with tea/coffee facilities. The children were on put-you-ups and slept like logs. You also have the back up of a full money back guarantee if you are not completely happy. I stayed during a blizzard/snow storm last Christmas - the wind howled in around the windows and my room was freezing. The rooms have individual heating controls that go off during the night but can be over-ridden (which wasn't mentioned by the staff). I complained and got a full refund (which is what the other reviewer should have done!) The staff are friendly and helpful. My only gripe is that Breakfast (which is taken next door in the pub) only runs to 9am during the week, even in Christmas week, but we manged to sit there until 9.30am and the staff were still smiling and friendly!"
