Superb in every way - what a find
"We went to Rye for the day but as there was so much to see in the area we decided to stay overnight. Hayden's had a room available and it was superb and pretty much every detail had been thought of - and more. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant and whilst organising our room gave us complimentary tea and delicious home made cake. Our room was large, light and airy and the design was beautiful combining old with modern really beautifully. The refreshment tray included a variety of teas, drinking choc. and a cafetiere and ground coffee, some green and blacks choc. and fresh milk had been put in the fridge for us and also complimentary bottled water. The huge bed had lovely fresh white bedlinen and plenty of pillows and cushions. The bathroom design was lovely too with a wide curved bath and the best shower we have ever had in a hotel/b&B - towels were huge, soft fresh and fragrant. The room had a great view and there was a large flat screen tv on the wall which we did not need for a night's stay but good nonetheless and also a good radio. We were really impressed and happy with the business' environmental credentials from the products used in the bathroom to the sourcing of the organic and/or local food and fairtrade products. The coffee shop was fantastic with a lovely selection of homemade cakes etc. Wish we had been there longer to try more of the food including an evening meal. The design of the coffee shop was as stunning as the bedroom with really subtle, welcoming and fresh colours and furniture. The terrace was great with lovely views and we had our tea on arrival there and also our breakfast in the sun. What a terrific find Hayden's is. Congratulations to the owners for such a great business with great staff which we will recommend to all. Wish we had a branch of Hayden's in Farnham."

"This charming B&B completely exceeded our expectations. Hayden's seeks to source local, organic and fair trade produce as far as possible, uses eco-friendly cleaning products and toiletries and recycles as much waste as reasonably possible and composts a lot of their kitchen waste. In addition to that commitment, it's a comfortable, quiet, clean, stylish and friendly retreat situated in the historic part of Rye town centre, a few paces from the museum and town walls. The owners, Kate and Richard, are wonderfully helpful and hospitable and the staff were all warm, friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Chocolate Room, which was wonderful, clean, comfortable and a fantastic retreat. The breakfasts were excellently cooked, fresh, warm and tasty and we were offered the opportunity of finishing with coffees on the terrace overlooking the hills - a wonderful sunny finish to a great meal. We had a fantastic stay and would happily visit regularly, if only our budget and timetable permitted it."

The best place to stay.
"We stayed here for my husbands birthday in april 08 for two nights. The room was beautiful and the resturant was lovely. It was very luxurious and had all the finer details down to perfection. It was worth every penny and by far the beast place to stay in Rye. Am currently planning our next stay."

Haydens is perfection!
"This fabulous B&B is family run and has just recently been renovated to the highest standard. Everything has been carefully thought out and there are many little touches that make this a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in the Silver Room, which was just devine. The room is very large and serperate to the restaurant/coffee shop which makes you feel like you have the place to yourself . The room is furnished with ultra modern fittings and the bathroom with the double sink and oversized bath is fantastic- we also loved the extras like the huge fluffy towels, chocolate in the room, tea and coffee. The food is just delicous - the mouth watering breakfast is included and so is welcome cake (which is homemade) and tea/coffee (which is so much better than any coffee you will find in London). The location is right on the High St of Rye and central to everything you would want to see in your visit to Rye. The Haydens are WONDERFUL hosts and ever so friendly- you will definitely be impressed with your stay here."

Wonderful place to eat in Rye
"Myself and my boyfriend drove down to Rye for the weekend and went to Hayden's for one of our evening meals. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. From the elegant and comfortable interior to the delicious food it is the perfect place for a reasonably priced yet high class meal. The gentleman who served us was extremely helpful and was happy to try and find alternative options for me as a vegetarian who is allergic to wheat. Their gluten-free bread which they make themselves was the best I have ever had and the gluten-free chocolate brownie I had for dessert was fantastic. Everyone is catered for at Hayden's and my meat-eating boyfriend also thoroughly enjoyed his sausage and mash and sticky toffee pudding. This was one of the best meals I have had out in a long time and would recommend that anyone visiting Rye puts Hayden's on their must-do list."

A perfect 10, centrally located to visit Rye
"We thought that this B&B was the best we have stayed at in a long time in the UK. The little differences such as free tea and cake on arrival and chocolate in the room! The customer care was excellent from all staff. The rooms are excellent and good value. A smashing breakfast menu for anything you need to get you on your way. The eco credentials are also important and help to make it more luxurious."

A rare find!
"Hayden's was recommended to me by a good friend who raved about their stay, and as soon as I entered the door to this beautiful luxury B&B I understood why. The friendly husband and wife team have a real eye for detail, both with the way they have dressed this property, and with their excellent levels of service. I loved our room; it was elegant and immaculately clean. We slept soundly in a beautiful sleigh bed with top quality bed linen. After a great night's sleep we were treated to what has to be one of the best breskfasts ever. The food is gorgeous, and Sheila and Kate are both wonderful cooks. To top it all, everything here is as environmentally friendly as it can be - from the local organic food, to the ecologically sound cleaning products, so you can have a guilt free stay as well. I really can't recommend this place highly enough, this is exactly what Britain has been crying out for for decades!"

A fantastic find
"What a lovely place. Hayden's is a coffee shop, restaurant and a B and B and all of it is a really high standard. The room we stayed in was worthy of a top boutique hotel and had an amazing view. Even during a busy lunchtime the service was friendly and efficient and the food is wonderful. It's so refreshing to eat somewhere where you don't need to worry if the eggs are organic and the bacon free range or if the drinks are fairtrade - Hayden's really pays attention to these sorts of details and rightly so."

Loved this little gem!
"This is a lovely establishment right in the heart of Rye's High Street. The decor and ambiance are beautiful, with lots of attention paid to detail - the rooms are very comfortable and clean with Aveda products in the bathrooms and breakfast is included in the cost of your stay. The food is delicious - fresh (they say 3 hours from boat to plate for the fish!), homemade, local and mostly organic and the espresso coffee is the best I've had outside of the NorthWest! They seem to have a real commitment to environmentally-friendly and sustainable living, which is still quite unusual for that part of the world. The back patio has a great view out to the sea and is a charming sunny spot for a drink or meal. Judging from the constant flow of customers while I was there, this is a great favorite with the locals - a sure sign of a good thing! There is even private parking available just a short walk away for guests spending the night, which is a real help in a medieval town with few parking spaces in the center."
