Ocklynge Manor Excellent!!
"My mum and I have just returned from a 3 night break at Ocklynge Manor and will certainly be returning as you could'nt have wished for a better place to stay. On arrival we met Wendy and she helped us in with our luggage and showed us her lovely home and amazing garden and then to our room which was beautiful and showed us some useful information and offered us tea and coffee which came with homemade cake, heaven. Breakfast was plentiful and Wendy takes pride in her cooking and her homemade jams and bread are amazing. This is a truly delightful place to stay and I can assure you that you wont be disappointed as the whole experience was a pleasure and Wendy and her husband David are really lovely people and very helpful so dont just read the reviews book a room and your be amazed..... Thank you Wendy and David."

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast
"We have just spent two nights at the beautiful Ocklynge Manor. The owners, Wendy and David, were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Their dedication to guest comfort was paramount. The Manor itself is absolutely immaculate and furnished with stunning antique furniture. From the moment you enter, you will be made to feel like you are part of the family. Our 5 year old son was delighted when he was caringly given a hot water bottle, as we had just returned from a brisk walk down the seafront! Wendy prepares beautiful breakfasts and her cakes are, simply, to die for. David is equally talented in keeping the house looking spic and span. Our room was very spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished and we can't wait to go back."

Charm and Elegance
"If you arrive late afternoon, the first thing you'll notice is the wonderful smell of bread baking. Then hostess Wendy Dugdill brings you tea and cake (silver pot) to a sunny upstairs nook where long windows overlook the beautiful old trees and spring flowers of her lovely walled garden. This is just one of the extra special treats of this wonderful B&B. Wendy and David have thought of all your needs, including robes and slippers in the room which doesn't have an ensuite bathroom, just in case you've forgotten your own. Everything seems new and fresh and shiny clean. What is also rare is to find space on tables to put things! Pretty decorations abound, but are always tasteful and never overdone. White linen on the very comfortable beds, big fluffy towels, a fabulous breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon with Wendy's homemade toast and jams - we were in heaven! Warmth just radiates from owners Wendy and David Dugdill. We would recommend them and their manor to anyone."

Everything I could think of and more...
"A lovely B&B with absolutely everything i could have thought of and more! Run by a lovely couple who are extremely friendly and welcoming. A beautiful building with an amazing garden, all with a lot of history and relevant artefacts around the house. The owners made us feel at home and exceeded expectations with service. The property is immaculately kept and I would recommend staying here to anyone. Breakfast is amazing with a huge range of tastes provided for. Good location, a 5-10 min walk to town and another 5-10 mins to the Eastbourne beach. Off street parking is safe and secure, I also felt very safe in the hands of the owners. An unbeatable experience! An extremely attractive place to stay for an equally attractive price! Worth every penny!!!"

"This was the second time we have stayed here. We have family living in Eastbourne but with limited accommodation. This is a wonderful sanctuary after a day spent with our two highly active grandchildren. The quality of the rooms, garden and breakfast is first-class. The location is excellent, quiet but close to the town centre. The best thing is the friendly reception from the proprietors. It's just like visiting long standing friends. We shall be back!!"

What a wonderful place
"What a little gem. This place is very special. Welcoming, perfectly done-out, lovely garden, good breakfast, huge rooms (ours was, anyway) and the host and hostess are very friendly. Probably not the cheapest place in Eastbourne, and it's not on the sea front either, but other than that, I can think of nothing to say against it. Would go again at the drop of a hat and would recommend it to anyone."

"We stayed at Ocklynge Manor for four nights in December and couldnât have wished for a better base from which to explore the delights of West Sussex. The house is in a quiet residential part of Eastbourne but within easy reach of the town centre. It is a very comfortable old building with all mod cons, having been upgraded by the owners Wendy and David. They provide a very warm welcome and have a wealth of local knowledge to help you enjoy your stay. Our bedroom was very well equipped and very comfortable and, as Wendy was kind enough to show us around, we saw that all three rooms were to the same high standard. Breakfast was a relaxing experience with the added benefit of a real fire to tempt one to linger. Wendy has justifiably won accolades from both the AA and Visit Britain and we will be returning in the Spring when we hope to be better able to enjoy the benefit of the large garden as well."
