"My Holiday dates were Fri 08Jun18 - Sun 10Jun18. On Friday afternoon I have contacted Pontins customer service to inform about my late arrival between 11 to 12 pm on Friday. Customer service advised me to contact Camber sands branch and they gave me the 01797223058 & 01797228310 contact numbers.
I have called the above numbers and spoke to Micheal I think, sorry I don't remember the name properly and he said that he will be available late night and took my name and booking ref number.
We have arrived to Camber sands at 11.30 pm (2 hours 30 minutes drive from my home) and took the apartment number 474 keys. When we entered into the apartment found that their is no bed linen and the sofa was full of dust and hair. My family was not happy with the cleanliness.
Immediately reported about this issue to reception and the above mentioned person said that he will inform to Duty manger and he will sort it out ASAP.
I have waited till 12.20 am and no one turned up, again contacted the reception, he said same thing informed to Duty manger any time he will turn up.
My kids were desperately looking to sleep, I have waited till 1.20 am and again called to reception, he said that he left voice message to Duty Manager and he may come any time, I really gone mad with his reply and I asked him when he is gonna come can you give me the certain time, then he said NO, I said may be he will come tomorrow morning and do you want us to wait till morning then he gave his apologies and he can't help on this as this has to done by only duty manager.
I told him that we are not staying any more here and want to return home which is again 2.5 hours drive then he replied sorry I can't do anything only I can give my apologies.
I have handed over the apartment keys to Reception at 1.30 am and reception guy said that he registered our complaint and asked me to contact customer service regarding this issue.
Finally reached home at 4.00 am
This is my first horrible holiday trip to Pontins and never seen such irresponsible customer service. I have driven complete 5 hours in the night, it was really a nightmare. Don't want to see Pontins for ever. Pontins doesn't give any value for customers, in my case they would have given me the bed linen or another apartment which is ready made. They did nothing. Duty manger not available at site.
Finally they refused to refund my money"

"Honestly, this place is fucking terrible. On entry, it looks like a council estate, a terrible 90's aesthetic thats clearly original and at the same time a hellish kids theme park. The rooms are filthy, most of the furniture either broken or hanging off the wall, the furniture hasn't been replaced in 30 years, locks broken on toilet doors. The part that comforted me the most about the room was that on entry i noticed that the chest of draws was bolted to the wall and on further inspection so was everything else, even paintings. It was cheap and i really wasn't expecting much but this is something else. With some of the other residents here it literally felt like a council estate, random abuse being shouted, kids screaming constantly, loud music until the early hours of the morning etc. Staff unfriendly but i wouldn't blame them, they're being overworked and underpaid. The pictures on the website are extremely deceiving, showing only close up pictures, only the best accommodation they have(about 5% of housing) and really does not show the horrific reality that is Pontins. After doing a small amount of research, it looks like the company itself was looking to refurbish most of the older accommodation back in 2010, but in that same year the company at the time went into administration and the new owners must've abandoned the idea as here we are 8 years later and its proved to be as terrible as all the reviews suggest. Please, for the sake of your own health and wellbeing, never visit this shithole."

"We booked this break for a fun short break last year.
The place was filthy and I wanted to turn and leave immediately. We stayed because my child was so excited to be away on a break.
I wrote to complain, even sending the destroyed socks I insisted we wore indoors and I was offered money off our next stay. There is no way we will stay here again.
I have asked time and again for a refund.
Has anyone received a refund or is it their practice to just ignore?

Don't go save your money or go elsewhere
"My name is Charlie ****** and the reason I am writing is because after weeks of excitement of looking forward to having a week away at Pontins Camber Sands I regret to say I am disgusted and disappointed in how my time went due to bad service from staff as well as lack of cleanliness (health and safety) in my room ( yellow zone 346.)
Upon arrival I felt I was going to have a fantastic time with lots of family friendly activities as well as a family friendly environment. All was well until I opened the door to my room (yellow zone 346) on 1/8/2016 at around 4pm, the first thing I noticed was a 3 inch hole in the bottom of my door in which mice and rats can easily fit through. Although I find this unacceptable I was willing to bite my tongue and not allow it to ruin my time at Pontins camber sands until I had noticed that the bedding in my room was incorrect.I was given two double quilts and one single instead of two singles and one double, not a major problem for myself but i can't help but question the competence of staff if they are unable to get something so simple wrong. We were also given one old and worn pillow each which were as thin as a sheet of paper I then proceeded into the bathroom to find human feces smeared on the bathroom walls. On top of all this the tv provided in our room was more static than the picture as well as the furniture being inaccessible due to damage prior to our arrival. After finding the state of my room and being unable to unpack my suitcase due to damaged furniture I had just had enough and had to leave the room as I did not want it to ruin my holiday. I went to get something to eat for dinner I went to the Queen Vic Pub for a drink and something to eat I asked the barmaid if they sold food and she said yes I asked if she had a menu and she replied it's about somewhere, as she looked around the room after about 3-4mins of walking around looking for a menu I gave up and went back to the barmaid I spoke to and asked what food they sold just to be given a very blunt answer of toasties and nuts, as I wanted something more substantial i decided to wait until mamma's pizza shop opened ( meant to be 6pm) so I just ordered a drink for myself and my family in which I ordered a desperadoes a j2o and a cranberry juice. The barmaid gave me a small glass bottle of cranberry and did not offer to put a slice of lime in my desperadoes so after having to ask the bar maid for a glass with ice for my cranberry and a slice of lime for my desperadoes as well as being told I have to look for the menu myself I decided I wont be going back to the queen vic, as i felt staff was rude, unprofessional and more interested in chatting to colleagues than serving paying customers so i had my first and my last drink in there before having a walk around and going back to my room to get ready for the evening entertainment. That is when I noticed there were no fittings on any of the taps in the bathroom and the kitchen. After getting ready we went back to the mamma's pizza shop around 6.30pm to find it was still closed so instead we went to the fun factory to get some bingo tickets and two pens, half way through the bingo 1 of the pens I had just bought for Â£1 run out which meant I fell behind on the numbers on bingo which effectively cost me Â£10 pound on the money I spent on the bingo tickets potentially costing my up to Â£1200 if the ticket I had was a winner!
Due to me being unable to continue with the bingo thanks to being sold a broken pen ten minutes prior to this I went to get my dinner back at the pizza shop at around 7.30 in which I had to wait approximately ten minutes to get served after placing my order of two margarita pizzas at Â£7.50 each totaling to Â£15 pounds. I asked roughly how long it would take in which I was told approximately 15-20mins...45 minutes later the man who was serving and cooking presented me with two burnt pizzas and asked if they were ok I replied no but they will have to do as now it was around 8.30 and neither myself or my family had not eaten since 10am. I was not prepared to wait another 45mins for him to re cook another two pizzas after spending an hour away from my family of what should have been 15mins. I finally got back to my family in the boiling hot
unconditioned fun factory where we all grabbed a slice of burnt pizza. My 6 year old daughter took her first bite and instantly screamed and dropped the slice were the pizza was so hot it blistered the cave of her mouth. In the UK there are legal requirements and legislation's put in place to prevent businesses from selling food above a certain temperature to prevent children burning themselves, which is exactly what has happened in this case. After an extremely disappointing first night we decided to go back to our room for an early night to have a fresh start the next day 2/8/2016. Waking up on the Tuesday morning was extremely unpleasant as we had a horrible draft in the room as the air was getting in through the big hole in our front door as well as all having sore necks from each having only one wafer thin pillow each and also having bad backs due to the mattress having nearly all busted springs.The kitchen utensils were filthy and there was much to use in the kitchen just a baking tray 3 spoons and a fork. That morning we went to see what there was to do (not much) due to weather (light drizzle on and off ) most activities were no longer available and no alternative activities were put in place we were left with little choice but to go to the arcade to be greeted with yet another Pontins disaster. All the 2p and 10p change machines were out of service and there was again no alternative option to get change so yet again this resulted in having nothing to do but go to the restaurant near the arcade to get some lunch yet again like everything else so far even this became a problem. We paid for 2 adult meals and one child meal totaling Â£18, we had no issues with the kids meal but unfortunately I can't say the same for the two adults meals. We ordered two jacket potatoes which was meant to come with both chips and salad, when the lady serving gave me my order all she gave me was the two potatoes. When I asked her if it came with salad and chips she looked at me with a blank face and said I don't know then asked a colleague who said yes. I then asked for it and she replied that neither chips or salad was ready. I was extremely dissatisfied and as I paid full price I expect to get a full meal not half. Once leaving the restaurant I went straight to reception to lodge all my complaints I was refunded the money for the two adult meals and one kids meal and ensured that my room would be sorted ASAP. This how ever was not the case. After so many problems at Ppontins I felt I had little option but to seek entertainment and look for something to do near by in Rye and Hastings. Later that day we returned to Potins to find our room had not been sorted there was still human feces on the walls a hole in the door and the room was still in the same disgusting way as when we left it. After two very bad days on what was meant to be a relaxing break at Pontins we decided to have another early night we woke on 3/8/16 to find a giant puddle of water in the bathroom running all the way to the front room, weather the water had came in from a burst pipe or leaked in through the 3inch hole in the front door I don't know all i know is that the first two days i had experienced bad service from staff disgusting cleanliness in the room and no staff taking complaints seriously. I had paid a lot of money for my stay at Pontins for 5 days 4 nights but on the 2nd morning of being there I had enough and went straight to reception to check out. The lady at reception did not care nor question why I was leaving the resort 3days and 2 nights early. I find this extremely unprofessional and if I were at potters Center Parcs or Butlins I believe staff would query why I was checking out so early and insist on rectifying any issue from preventing me from leaving the CAMBER SANDS PONTINS RESORT. I have very fond memories of Pontins from when I was a child as we used to go every summer, I wanted to give my child the same enjoyable memories I had when I was a child at your resort but unfortunately it seems as if standards have dropped so much I had to leave 3days and 2 nights early and me and my family have to wait another year before we get to go on holiday again and I ensure you I will never stay at pontinS again nor would I recommend it to anybody. We may try Center Parcs were I might be made to feel welcome and be shown good customer service.
I hope to hear from you soon with a possible solution and a sincere apology.

Avoid at all cost
"We arrived in Monday purchased tokens ( because most things have to be paid for )
We still have the tokens as nothing is open, we did check this before booking and were assured it wasn't end of season . The rooms not very clean but could have coped with that by giving a clean myself if the kids had been entertained . There is nothing for any child above the age of 8/9 and what is free save your money and take them to your local park
Even the fact we have to pay tokens didn't bother me but paying Â£5 for 12 minute session on something a joke , there is no security seen and even at the children show at night it has now been taken over by gypsy's wanting to be the ones called onto stage and staff not wanting to tell them no .please people with kids think very carefully before booking here it's so not worth the let down and I promise you it will be. "

"Went along to Pontins Camber Sands with my family, our 1st night there my two girls daughter and daughter in law were attacked by a drunk woman claiming they stole her mobile phone, she was seen going around earlier in evening being abusive to people and security did not think , my daughters stood up to her to defend them self's security dragged the woman away and by doing so came to close to me and my grand son who was in the push chair so i stood in front of the push chair and took a boot in the side of my stomach while security went by, my main thought then was to get the baby's to safety i was guided into games room got my mother to push other push chair in there to my amazement security had took the woman in there, i turned around and said to the blue coat i cant believe you've sent me in here when you said your interest is the safety of the children, after we got the baby's safely out the way i asked security to call the police they said were busy right now, i sat down with my family waited no one bothered so i approached security again, i asked if the police have been called yet he just said its no need to call the police its been dealt with, with that I called the police myself. I told them what happened, they spoke to my daughters and my self the police went of to talk to the woman who attacked my daughters, and returned back at 1am in mourning and said the woman in question is being evicted from the site the next mourning as she has children, she was still there 2 days later calling us snakes behind our backs as we walk pass for calling the police, my reason for telling you this is to let you know the security is very poor left us feeling at risk, and yes the apartments are dirty and the entertainment was very poor for the 12 -16 year age group and who were bored stiff never go back again."

"All 3 families that went 6adults 6kids had a great time. entertainment A1 . stall great park brilliant . Right chalets do need bathroom upgrade. Cleaners need sacking and people that know how to clean need bringing in.
Other than them 2 bad points it was great ye we were one of the families that stayed up till 2-3 in morning but hey holiday. And no we wasn't load just having a chat and drink with others that we met there that is having a good Holiday. "

" Got back today, went with my husband and Granddaughter, aged 8, I was stupid enough to read the reviews before going, and we were considering cancelling after reading the negative reviews on here. So glad we didn't !!!, yes, we were lucky with the weather, so got Camber and its beautiful beaches in its full glory. But even if the weather had been awful, I know we would of been ok, and our Granddaughter would have been kept busy and happy, with all the entertainments on offer. We found all staff to be cheerful and helpful at all times, even though the extreme heat they were all working under. Don't take any notice of the reviews, go and enjoy !!! Thanks to all at Pontins !!! xxx "

AVOID CAMBER SANDS AT ALL COSTS
"All I can say is we were all in shock on arrival and pretty devastated when entering the apartments. They were filthy dirty, both cookers, dirty, rusty and not fit to cook on. Showers were disgusting, filth, hair balls all round plug holes . We wouldn't has considered cooking on the cooker but had we wanted to there were no pits and pans. One apartment didn't even have handles on taps so couldn't use the kitchen taps. All floors were dirty, bedrooms I cleaned, it was bloody terrible . The chest of drawers we had in both apartments (if you can call them that) had no front on the drawers and wobbled about. TV on top were out of the ark, 12 inch screens if that. Punch hole in front door, windows didn't lock, our chalet should have been two bedrooms but our settee had been removed and two single beds put together in the lounge in its place, they were both different heights... The pillows were disgusting dirty And smelly. Plastic covered mattresses and then nylon type sheets so they didn't stay on . The Queen Victoria pub was also dirty, you stuck to the tables if you lent on them and when we asked for something to wipe them with, the bar lady got the hump. Only one member of staff on duty which is ridiculous.. My husband got bitten 5 minutes after walking in there. Says it all really. Restaurant was like school canteen. We arrived on the Friday at 4pm and booked another hotel that night and left the next day.. In the process of complaining and determined to get money back, no.vouchers as we would never set foot in that place ever again even if it was the last place leftover n earth. DON'T GO THERE EVER. "

Uck - could have killed my son
"My email to Pontins Camber Sands!
So we've been to some pretty awful places before but its safe to say our tent has more luxuries than there was in an "upgraded" apartment at Pontins Camber Sands. flaky paint, badly filled walls, punch marks or similar in the door which didn't fit, mold, damp, rust, filthy windows and I don't think the floor had ever been cleaned. We were welcomed by a family of ants in our "suite." Much to our 6 year old amusement they stayed the weekend with us free of charge. We did the usual wonder round the site and have a nose at whats going on (not a lot so it seemed except many many parents strolling around with alcohol). A little bit of British weather and everything goes into lock down (or maybe that's because everyone was so high on the smell of weed). The shops on site and the restaurants serve practically nothing for my allergy baby. This was one of the worst bits of the weekend as not being able to feed my 11 month old hadn't crossed my mind. The takeaway pizza on site we would recommend for us obviously not for my poor son. We set this aside and decided a couple of days of crap food and snacks bits would be ok. So off we went to the pool: lovely and warm, intact floats and pool toys. On the ball lifeguards who in the space of 10 minutes caught two kids of irresponsible parents from taking a dive. I say kids but they cant have been more than 3 years old. The same life guard was refusing a couple of kids aged around 10 from entering the pool until they could prove to him they could swim its width. Bonus points to this lad he was obviously amazing at his job. Praise too for the rest of the pool squad as they quickly cleared and deep cleaned the baby pool after some kid shat in it. Further irresponsible parent fail! Swim nappies: use them! The beds actually weren't to bad to sleep on but when you have 2 single beds shoved in an L shape to sit on in the living area, things become very awkward to sit and feed a baby, my back hurts in places I didn't know it could. The out dated signs in the apartment had us worried the electric would turn off but the hubby did risk attempting to cook on the rusty antique of a cooker. Thankfully we found a beautiful little old pub in Icklesham which I couldn't rate any higher and in ended the day on a good note. The beach is stunning and even after being sandblasted it didn't deter the hubs, kids and I from having a lot of sandy and wet laughs. But alas there was another let down from Pontins when we returned to the ants who had decided to stay home. Picture 2 adults, very windswept, sandy and damp. Picture 2 kids, soaked through and sand stuck to them like glue. Then picture a shower that resembles that of a drinking fountain. I refer back again to the fact we love camping but had I wanted to live like this for the weekend my massive tent wouldn't be packed away and we'd be in it! Im a long way from being posh but this place was just to much. This site has so so much potential, especially with the nearby beautiful beach and pleasant friendly staff but it needs knocking down and rebuilding!
We came home a say and a half early to shower properly and eat. Even my hubby and I couldn't live on the food on site let alone my poor allergy baby, who has been screaming for hours now and having reaction poos. Nothing we have given him has been unsafe so this would go to show your allergy information is not correct! I am seeking a refund and will not be returning!
I was offered 30% off another stay there to visit their new and improved park!
"New and improved park" you are joking right. We returned from here on Sunday (less than 2 weeks ago). Our stay was until Monday.
We left early to avoid further the disgusting conditions and issues of my almost 1 year old son who couldn't eat anything. Unless you suggest I feed him food he is highly allergic to and he then has a hospital stay! No thank you. Not only can this cause him great distress but possible death should his airways before blocked.
I could list many many for faults in your park than the immediate ones I have listed. We shall 100% NOT be coming back and unless a monetary figure is agree as a refund I shall be furthering my complaint not only with the ombudsmen but environmental health and the food allergies standards agency.
I was then offered 50% off of a stay at the park. Which I have obviously declined.
I will not accept 50% off. I am not dragging my kids 3 hours again to experience the same awful rooms, site and a holiday where I can not eat out with my son! Do you really think this is acceptable!
No amount of discount off any holiday with Pontins will resolve this.
I want a refund!
