"We have stayed at the Alendale four times and at every stay we were made really welcome. The rooms are beautiful and fresh and the breakfast is beautifully cooked and served. Leslie and Clive certainly know how to make your stay warm and enjoyable. We will always try to stay there. l would certainly recommend the Alendale."

Exceeded our expectations
"Our first time in a B & B and I don't think it could have been any better. My husband & I plus our teenage daughter really enjoyed our stay. The room, en-suite, bedding & towels were very clean. Tea & Coffee making facilities were great with an added bonus of biscuits & bottled water not forgetting the chocolate.Breakfast was fantastic with excellent choices, but their full English did Britain proud I don't believe you could have found better elsewhere. Lesley & Clive were great hosts and were very helpful. We were right by the beach (which we loved) & within walking distance of a very large town center having plenty of places to eat & drink with loads of well known stores. Parking at the B & B was limited but our hosts ensured this did not cause any of their guests a problem. We will be returning in 2013 for a much longer stay. "

An Enjoyable Stay
"We booked this hotel for three nights, because of the great reviews it received. The hotel was lovely, and we were given a warm welcome by Clive when we arrived. The room was an ensuite double and was spotless, with a lovely comfortable bed, tea/coffee making facilities, lovely free bikkies, and chocolate bars. The breakfast was excellent, cooked beautifully by Lesley, and all ingredients fresh. The egg was so nice each day, I felt like finding the hen who laid them, and taking her home! The weather was gorgeous so we didn't really see much of Lesley until the day we left, but we had a good chat then, and as with Clive, was friendly, welcoming and a very nice person. All in all, Weymouth is a lovely place, and so is the Allendale, and its new owners. Allan and Sue"

Great breakfast, lovely people
"This is a marvelous place to stay -- great breakfasts that are custom-made and excellent. Good location that's close to all the bus stops for day trip tours and an easy walk to the beach. The rooms are a good size and the en suite works well. The beds are ok. The owners are thoughtful, responsive, knowledgeable, and polite without hovering or imposing. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat."

Weymouth B+B endorse it (in Dorset) - we'd recommend it to anyone!
"Warm and genuine hosts. Superb breakfast all sourced from local produce and cooked freshly rather than in a job lot. Spotless throughout with personal touches. Real attention to detail - not a run of the mill B+B."

Excellent guest house and hosts.
"Just had a two night stay at the Alendale GH. Everything was perfect, the room, clean, modern and fresh, the breakfast, large, grease free and well presented, the hosts, Jim and Denise Bowie are a credit to the leisure industry, polite, helpful and happy, obviously enjoy having people stay with them. And free wifi. Would highly reccommend and return."

Jewel of the Jurassic Coast
"Selecting a guest house from America can be tough without reliable reviews but we were delighted with our four nights at the Alendale. The location is a level six-minute walk to the center of town or the rail station. Weymouth's beach and promenade is directly across the street. Jim and Denise were extremely welcoming from the outset and showed us to a spacious room with sea views. The bed was comfortable, bathroom very clean and tea making facilities enhanced by Denise's home baking. Breakfast is top-notch starting with local fruit and cereals and then offering the "Full English" or, more unusually, the "Full Scottish" which is a taste treat! The local kippers (for those who like smoked fish in the morning) were probably the best I've tasted. Overall, the Alendale is outstanding value, very comfortable and welcoming in a great location. Excellent choice."

have already chucked ot the chintz
"Stayed at the Alendale beginning of February on a one night flying visit to see the sea. Normaly stay at the guest house next door but was full its 4 diamonds so its a good standard. After having a good look round at what was available and being put off by shabby chintz at other establishments opted for the Allendale as it seemed clean and fresh and chintz freeplus parking The room was on top it was large ( we always seem to get the family room) with a small modern bathroom which had a shower. Shower gel and soap were provided in containers rather than individual saches The furnishing were modern and the bed was kingsize. Nice neutral beddding and white towels. Good tea /coffee making facilities, fresh flowers in room and home made shortbread yummy! also had shoe cleaning kit and sewing kit Mostly pluses but minuses were no central heating in room, just a heater, carpet was alittle grubby and no proper wardrobe just a very low rail in eaves. don't know a faimily would cope for a week. no socket near mirror for hair dryer also extra bed just had a throw on it so looked a bit scruffy. Must say from the hotel pictures the other rooms looked better than the one we stayed in. Think this room could do with a bit of schoosing up. However onwers have only recently taken over and are in the process of updating. Must say that it was great to have white table cloths napkins and crockery in breakfast room and to the onwers credit that breakfast was excellent which choice of fruit jucies, mueseil, cereals, yogurt, fruit compote, full scottish or english breakfast and porridge with cream and brown sugar ,again yummy. Finally orginal art work on walls is for sale. Very good B&B that with a bit of tweeking wouldd be excellent."
