"This hotel is reasonably cheap, however, rooms not available till afternoon and checkout still 10 am. (this is maybe not the hotels fault but we were not aware of late check in at time of booking)

Rates seemed a bit random - we were a party of 5, one double (with working shower) cost 66. The other (without) shower cost 75.

The single room had cockroaches. (although, we didn't get a change to advise the hotel of this to give them a chance to respond).

Breakfast was a buffet, with only one person working. Poor service, had to wait for food. - they needed at least one other person to help out. Therefore no one on reception on check out to let them know about cockroaches!"

Overpriced

"Although the hotel has a lovely garden, the interior needs a bit of loving care. I was in a group of 16 people and when we arrived the hotel was in chaos - bedlinen everywhere. Our rooms were only just ready and it was almost 3pm. We also found that we were one room short resulting in two people having to sleep in camp beds in other double rooms, although they did receive their stay free at least. Our room had a bath but no shower attachment and for £110 was way overpriced. I would recommend staying at a travel lodge - much better value!"

A different Yenton...?!

"All I can say is that if you are planning to stay at The Yenton:
1) ask to see your room before paying - they are all different and yet all seem to be charged at the same (not cheap) rate. We paid £110 for what can only be described as a cupboard of a room with a 'bathroom' the size of a wardrobe. I'm not kidding! Our friends on the other hand paid the same for a room that was 4 times the size, with a balcony - go figure!
2) Take flip flops to wear in the shower. And on the carpet. On second thoughts, also take rubber gloves and a bottle of bleach. Our shower came with a free pubic hair stuck to the wall (at head height?!) - NICE!!
3) don't go expecting anything nearing customer service. The owner (I assume) ignored us for as long as possible and then was just rude when he did have to acknowledge us.
4) Lock your windows at night - two of the girls in our group had a male hotel guest climbing through their window in the small hours (the proprietor did not seem overly concerned when told about this - just said he must've slept right through it all as his room was directly below theirs!).
5) Do yourself a favour and stay at the Travellodge 5 minutes down the road - cheaper, cleaner, better service."
