Excellent Birthday Weekend!!
"Stayed at Urban Beach for joint 30th Birthday celebrations and found Urban Beach excellent base for our little party. Could not fault the Owners and Staff as everyone was very friendly and provided top notch service. Extremely comfortable rooms with very tasteful decor. Quality of food was good as were the bar facilities!! Look forward to returning again in future, a view shared by everyone who stayed."

Fabulous Time, Will be Returning!
"My husband and I and our new baby boy visited the Urban Beach last week, first impressions were great from the garden furniture outside to the stylish bar and lounge area, as stated on their webiste the hotel is under renovation so not all rooms are A1 as yet, however they have been de-chinzed and are very clean and tidy (we were in room 12, yet to be given the full works!) and you can get the feel of what the owners are aiming to achieve over the next few years. Mark the owner was a fabulous host, not only did he make us feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble, he even sterilised my little boys bottles for me..very impressive! as every little helps when you have children. Oh and the home made bluebuerry muffins are gorgeous as is the breakfast! We will definitely return in the future to see what progress has been made. Good luck to Mark and his family, you have a real gem there!"

Tip Top Time !
"Our stay here during a conference in Bournemouth was absolutely amazing, with extremely friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast (as well as the rest of the food), and a great contemporary bar with a great TV for watching football! The hotel was a mile East of the city centre and overcrowded beaches, and in a fun area with a 3 minute walk to a stunning section of the beach which also boasts a pier and bar or two but without all the massive crowds taking up all the beach space! It's a great walk to the city centre along the beach and the views (as it is in a cliff top area) were amazing! Although the hotel is under going a re-vamping process and some of the bedrooms are not quite finished, the ground floor dining, bar, and outdoor patio are done in a really nice and sophisticated way which was really relaxing after a long day at the conference. I would really recommend this hotel and can promise that the staff will be wonderfully helpful and fun while you are there!"

"With the World Cup on at the time and penalties again denying England, a topical way to sum up the Urban Beach is SPOT ON! More than anything, it's the personal touch from Mark, Fiona, Ben and Jane that makes it the ideal home from home, from the handshake to greet you on arrival and the smile at the foot of the stairs every morning to fixing the satellite reception on the tv (our fault) or dishing out alternative directions to get to a certain destination, nothing is too much fuss. We took our little girl Francesca (6) and found a more than comfortable family room with king and single beds and all mod cons with the additional bonus of a flat screen tv and dvd. Breakfast, as described elsewhere, is excellent and the bar very welcoming. Mark is mid-way through his project to modernise the hotel and it has to be so far, so good."

"After spending ages on the net trying to find a suitable hotel to stay in, we came across the Urban Beach Hotel - we are so glad we did! We booked Room 11 for a couple of nights, which we found to be spottlessly clean, nicely decorated and kitted out with all mod cons (LCD TV,& DVD player). Our room was modern, bright and had plenty of space. The Breakfast's are delicious, with plenty of choice and the bar/lounge area looks great & has a really friendly atmosphere. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the beach and we were recommended a fantastic restaurant just down the hill from the hotel. Mark & Fiona's hospitality was wonderful and they couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. The Urban Beach Hotel is such a great place that we have just booked our next stay there!"

A Grand Hotel at a very reasonable price
"We visited at the Urbanbeach in June, and enjoyed our stay there immensely. Mark & Ben made us feel very welcome and gave us tips on where to go and which restaurants were worth a visit. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the breakfast (included in the price) was well worth getting up for. A laid back atmosphere, close to the centre at a price which is hard to beat. Keep up the good work guys!"

"After searching through a million weird websites for B&Bs/hotels in and around the Bournemouth area, we stumbled upon the Urban Beach Hotel's website - which is really impressive and informative. This hotel is run by Mark and his wife Fiona who recently bought the place. You can appreciate how much hard work and love they have already put in to getting this hotel off the ground - and they still have more renovations in mind. From the offset of making a reservation, we were told that the only room left available was one that still needed renovating (which was reflected in the price). This room was clean, basic yet furnishing was contemporary and stylish. Mark and Fiona could not have made our stay more enjoyable, they are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. This little haven is 5 mins from the beach (very clean) and is near to lots of places to visit. Their bar is open to the public too and has a great atmosphere - really relaxed, lovely furnishings - no rowdiness at all! Breakfasts are great too - all ingrediants resourced from local produce and all organic. We would definately come here again and wouldn't hesitate recommending to anyone. Mark and Fiona are still working hard to get this place off the ground and it already is a cut above the rest."

"Less than 5 minute walk to the beach, and a lovely walk into Bournemouth this is a fabulous hotel The owners couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing. Rooms very comfortable and well decorated. Great bar/lounge area. They are just about to start serving food throughout the day. Good value for money. Can't wait to go back there one day."

"Date 4th June 2006 We took advice from other Trip Advisor reviews on this hotel and it was an excellent choice. The hotelier Mark greeted us with a big beaming smile and could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. He explained about his three year plan to upgrade and refurbish the hotel with his wife and was very honest and full of enthusiasm. He seems to have moved mountains to do as much as he has since January and we were very impressed. He provided an excellent breakfast too (good quality food and drink) and gave us endless advice on which places to visit during our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the room modern. We highly recommend this hotel look forward to seeing the progress over the next few years. We wish him and his wife (plus Big Ben) all the success they deserve."

Don`t take an un-renovated room
"Don`t take an unrenovated room here-if our experience was anything to go by it will be a great disappointment. The public spaces of this small hotel under recent new ownership have been done up in a pleasant modern style. Some of the bedrooms have been fully refurbished and are probably OK-I didn`t see them. Breakfast is good- varied choice, well cooked and china is stylish.. However , our room, described as a standard double room, was very sub-standard. New bed linen, curtains, headboard and lamps could not redeem the badly stained carpet and walls, peeling wallpaper, tacky furniture and rug and well worn shower cabinet. In this day and age a room such as this is not fit to be let and should have been mothballed till renovation was possible. So be warned, check out the room fully before parting with the £50 deposit requested on booking."
