10 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
Quaint and quiet hotel by the sea
"We stayed overnight in this small hotel the second weekend in October and had a fabulous time. The hotel is very nicely decorated, with a large library, quiet garden, friendly pets (2 cats and a dog) and beautiful ensuite rooms. The service was second to none with our host offering us directions to our restaurant that night and serving a wonderful breakfast the next morning. We were sad we only stayed for one night!"

"My wife and I just returned from spending a lovely weekend in Bournemouth, made all the better by the superb accomodation and excellent hospitality at the Cransley Hotel.
Situated just a few minutes from Bournemouth rail station, the Cransley is a beautiful and immaculately clean hotel which is close to most restaurants and the beach.
Jonathan and Simon are excellent hosts and pay attention to the smallest detail.
The pier and town centre are reachable by foot - just walk about 10 minutes down to the shore and follow the beach towards the right. The town centre itself is full of both old and new shops, with a touch of the high street in places. The Bournemouth hot air balloon ride is right in the middle of the centre."

love this place!
"My husband and I found this little hotel by chance and will definately visit again.
Simon and Jonathan are perfect hosts and make you feel very welcome!
Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to family issues but we thoroughly enjoyed the two nights we stayed there.
The hotel is spotless and the decor if fantastic!
We felt at home immediately and felt very comfortable in the room we were given.
The breakfast was well worth the visit too and even Rupert the dog makes you feel welcome!
Thank you Simon and Jonathan for a fantastic stay and we hope to see you both again in the near future!"

"My wife and I have just had a week in the Cransley Hotel and have had a wonderfull time. The decor, food, attention to detail, friendliness were all without doubt the best we have experienced to date. Well done Johnathan and Simon. We will not hesitate to recomend to family and friends."

What a wonderful, peaceful place
"My Mum and I just came back from a weekend stay at the Cransley after a particularly stressful year and we feel absolutely refreshed!
Perfect attention to detail. Absolutely spotless room and en-suite bathroom. Beautifully and tastefully decorated to match the Edwardian feel of the place and though the room was not large it felt bright, airy and peaceful and managed to feel larger than its actual size. Lovely little touches such as glass bowls filled with cotton wool and cotton buds, various books on the shelves and pretty ornaments .
Great view out to the garden.
There are also two lovely resident cats and a miniature Schnauzer!
Delicious breakfast was served in the elegant dining room.
Simon and Jonathan are perfect hosts and full of useful tips and information about the area.
Great value for money, especially considering that many of the tackier hotels in Bournemouth charge a hell of a lot more.
Highly recommended - I will definitely be staying there again."

"Just spent a week at this Hotel and it certainly lived up to expectations. Simon and Jonathan understand perfectly what their guests require, beautiful tranquil surroundings, more breakfast than you can eat, spotlessly clean, and the decor is wonderful. Recommend."

Very highly recommend this hotel
"We stayed in this hotel for three nights - two couples - our room was smallish but beautifully decorated and equipped, the other room was positively sumptuous! Breakfast was plentiful and excellent, the door of the lovely dining room opening on to a wonderful garden. We loved our stay here and would recommend this hotel without reservation."

Very very nice indeed
"Having just returned from staying 2 nights at The Cransley Hotel we can thoroughly recommend it. Our room was on the small side but very tastefully decorated. The dining room is beautiful. Beware though that is more than the 10 minute walk into town that we were told but never mind everything else made up for it. Simon and partner were pleasant but never entered into conversation too much so could'nt tell you much about them but they were certainly very polite. You cannot really call it a hotel as such as it has no bar of restuarant but it has "hotel Quality " and thats what counts.
As guest house owners ourselves it was a real treat to be waited on for a change- so thank you. We will be back. By the way , don't forget to visit Monkey World ( approx 20 miles away ) whilst you are there - great !"

Elegant, Stylish and Tranquil, Cransley Hotel is Superb
"I booked the Cransley hotel as a surprise week-end break for my wife, following a recommendation from a friend. We were thrilled when we arrived, as the hotel certainly exceeded our highest expecrtations. Set in tranquil and verdant award winning gardens the hotel provides elegant and stylish accomodation in a peaceful setting a thousand miles away from the hub-bub of busy city life. The service was first class, a throwback to a bygone era where customers needs and wants are clearly understood, personal, understated and never instrusive. Simon bent over backwards to help in any way whether it be planning evenings out or suggesting routes for country walks. Breakfast, served in the Edwardian dining room was a triumph and not to be missed. As a frequent visitor to Bournemouth I have to say that we have never before had such an enjoyable stay as we had at the Cransley. I can't wait to go back, needless to say we have already made a repeat booking for the Autumn and I am counting the days already."
