not what i thought!
"When arrived at woolacomebe sands i was very disapointed, the site needs a makeover, the roads have potholes everywhere the shower block was filthy and smelt vile the worse i have ever been too,the bins were always full, also the indoor pool was freezing and also dirty only went in once. i cant believe all the good reviews it has but then again alot were staying in statics. Will not be returning here again."

"Came back from a short break, stayed in a static carvan over looking the sea. Was fab, it was lovely & clean with lots of space.
On site has lots of things to do, with the night time entertainment just as good. Food is nice, although their is not much on offer.
All in all a lovely break away"

Great Camp Site
"Have just returned from our 5th stay at this site with our trusty trailer tent.
We are drawn back by the wonderful view and the constant sound of the sea, do be warned however that all the upper pitches get all the wind as we know to our cost.
Don't be tempted by the Wi-Fi, it does not work for the camping pitches, only for the statics.
Despite these couple of drawbacks we will be back later in the year!!"

A good family holiday park
"Just returned from 2 weeks at Woolacombe Sands, this is a great holiday park and has something for evey age group from swimming in the indoor and outdoor swimming pools,to sunning yourself on the wonderful clean, sandy and stunning beach. This beach is wonderful for anybody who wants to experience body-boarding or surfing and is only 15-20 miutes from the holiday park (which saves on your car parking fees!!!) The on site supermarket is superb and very well stocked, on of the services this shop offered a wonderful bakery from croissants to fresh baguettes and pastries and can order a whole chicken and they will put it on a rotiserrie for you (which were cooked to absolute perfection).
The club was good value for money the food served in there was an enormous portions.
The staff were always very happy to help you.
The entertainment was good and a variety of different acts. One down side to the campsite was that the toilet block across from the football pitch could do with revamping as this block looked alot older than the rest of the toilet blocks, and also the campsite could do with wifi as there are alot of young people and would be beneficial.
We have really enjoyed our holiday and we are looking forward to visiting this campsite next year!!!!

Woolacombe Sands Caravan and Camping Site
"Please note this review is for Woolacombe Sands and NOT Woolacombe Bay as some of the others are slightly confusing!
This was my 5th year of going to Woolacombe Sands, I always camp with either just friends or friends and their children, it is a great campsite for everyone. The view is the best you could have from where ever on the site you are staying there is a seaview, it is the only campsite in the town that you can walk into town/beach within 20 minutes. The facilities are clean, there is always plenty of hot water and I have never had to queue for a shower even at peak time! The club house is brilliant if you have kids, the food is great value for money and Woolly Bear is a god send for keeping the children entertained so that the adults can have fun too!
there is a heated indoor and outdoor pool which are always clean. The onsite shop/bakery is great, you get fresh bread, cakes, pastries everyday and I believe you can order a roast chicken to collect from there for dinner!
I really have not a bad word to say about it, which i know is hard to believe, maybe the small hill to walk up or down dependant on where abouts you are staying but that is about it! I will be returning atleast once more this year!"

We have just returned from a week campin...
"We have just returned from a week camping at Woolacombe Sands, we didnt book a pitch beforehand but because we were in low season had no problem getting on the campsite. The pitches were a little soggy due to the weather which has been very wet and windy. But despite this we have had one of the best out of season breaks ever.
This campsite is in a stunning location with views accross woolacombe and is nestled in the valley with adjacent views accross the valley looking onto lots of devon sheep. It really is a very clean kept campsite, the toilets and shower blocks were kept immacculate by the staff. It has an outdoor pool which was so warm we even used it in this weather also an indoor pool. The club complex is great for families and the staff are so friendly and polite.
At first I thought the pitches were quite expensive for the out of season prices, but I didnt mind as the campsite offered everything we needed and I didnt mind paying extra for a nice welcome from everyone.
I have stayed on this campsite in peak season and it can get very busy in the summer months, but if you are looking for an away from it all break it certainly is peaceful at this time of year.
Would recommend this 100 percent to anyone touring in a tent motarhome or caravan. It is very steep so make sure your breaks are in good working order. Full marks Woolacombe Sands!!!!"
