On our return visit we were welcomed like long lost friends by Paul and Linda!
"Cary Court is such a lovely place to stay - so relaxing with comfortable bedrooms and airy lounge. The smoked salmon and scrambled egg breakfast was delicious. We spent two very happy evenings in their byo bar supping cocktails. Can't wait to return!"

Beautiful house, fabulous hosts!
"We have stayed at Cary Court a number of times now, and will doubtless return for years to come. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and clean, and set within a wonderfully maintained home. Our hosts Paul and Linda were warm and welcoming from the very beginning, and nothing has ever been too much to ask. Their knowledge of the locality is incredibly helpful, particularly when we came to organise our wedding in the area. There is a wide variety on offer at breakfast, to suit all tastes I'm sure, then out to the amazing exotic garden and pool to relax in the sunshine. Who could ask for more?!"

"We spent a week at the Cary Court Hotel just before Easter and expected to get good service as we had been before in August 2009 and enjoyed it tremendously. Everything was excellent and everything worked. Our hosts were charming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were a delight and we will certainly go to the Cary Court Hotel again. Many thanks."

Great hosts, beautiful hotel,no hassels just a lovely time
"We experienced a warm friendly welcome our hosts were extremely helpful in guiding us with what to see and do. Our room was clean & very comfortable, everything we needed was there for us. We were ideally situated, just a short walk to the seafront and all Torquay had to offer. We enjoyed having a gym, pool & lovely garden to relax in. In short we loved everything about Cary Court Hotel.....we are planning our next stay there in the very near future."

cary court weekend visit
"we stayed here for a couple of nights as part of a group of friends. Our hosts Paul and Linda could not have made us feel more welcome. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms were bright airy and very confortable with amplle hot water, clean towels etc. Breakfast was the best we have had at any hotel or B&B. Would recommend Cary Court to anyone wishing a homely comfortable stay in Torquay."

Great hotel in Torquay
"We spent a weekend at the hotel with a group from the Gloucestershire Lotus 7 Club. Albeit early in the year, our first impression was one of a staying in a tropical garden with the palm trees blowing in the wind (and rain). We had a warm welcome from Linda and Paul and a guided tour of the hotel to select our room! The four poster bed was superb and breakfast not for the faint hearted. The harbour and excellent local restaurants are a short walk away. A good choice if you are looking for a relaxing stay in Torquay."

What a Wonderful Life!!!!
"Our first childfree weekend beckoned and so we decided to go away ourselves. After having a look at the various typical holiday hotels online, I stumbled across the Cary Court Hotel. Pictures were great, reviews were good, what the hell let's give it a go!!!!! Immediately upon entering the driveway it was clear that the pictures and the reviews didn't do it the real justice it deserved. Paul was outside playing with his bonfire, whilst Linda came and greeted us at the front door with a big smile. We were shown around and then were given the keys to our lovely bedroom... Four Poster Bed, Chaise lounge, beautiful antique wardrobe, dressing table, tv with freeview, CD/Radio, Tea and Coffee facilities, Mineral Water, Biscuits etc.. The En-suite was blissfully clean with crisp white towels and soaps and shampoos. After unpacking we headed downstairs for a G & T which we had already brought with us and sat outside looking at the quite frankly stunning gardens. Linda talked us through the plants and the passion for her house and garden was quite apparent. Paul then appeared not smelling of the bonfire anymore......charming man with a lovely sense of humour (they both did) and such a great knowledge of Devon. We took a walk into the town (about 7 minutes) and had an explore and a bite to eat before getting a cab back ......£3.80 not to be sniffed at, and we knew we had a lot of walking to do the next day. It is hilly in Torquay so don't do as I did and only take your high heels. You do get used to it though. After a great nights sleep dreaming of seagulls and restaurants we woke bright and early and went downstairs for a fantastic breakfast. We both had the full English, one with Scrambled and the other with Fried Eggs....cooked to perfection and made for a great start to what was a very busy day. Came home to be greeted again by a still cheery and welcoming Paul and Linda and sat once again on the Veranda mulling over the day with a well earned G & T. Went to a wonderful seafood restaurant called Man Fridays in the evening. Highly recommended. Our last morning.....:-( Another fantastic breakfast and then upstairs to pack. We were very sad to leave and felt like we were leaving long lost friends. We will definitely be back....maybe with kids in tow next time. Fabulous. A big thank you to Paul and Linda and good luck for the coming season."

If torquay is the English riviera then Cary Court Hotel is the Jewel in the Crown
"This is the second time we have stayed at Cary Court ,Paul and Linda are the host's of host's they make you feel and treat you like one of the familly nothing is too much trouble for them, their advice and knowledge on the local area and amenities are second to none. The rooms we have stayed in are clean, bright and have all the usual refinements you'd expect to find in a hotel room and finished off to a high standard as is the rest of the hotel. The garden is totally tropical and is a real treat to walk around and sit in. The hotel is only a short walk from the sea front and harbour with all it's amenities, pubs, cafes and restaurants etc and close enough to the main town centre if shopping is what you like to do on a break. The best thing we liked was the pleasant, peaceful and relaxing setting and atmosphere of the hotel and yet near to any amenities you could wish for. We found the Cary Court Hotel by chance the first time we visited Torquay and have stayed there ever since and will again this spring and the item we least liked of our stay was of course leaving!."

A beautiful, quirky hotel in an excellent location with the perfect hosts
"The hotel is actually a magnificent house in a quiet location within walking distance (downhill) to the centre of Torquay for the harbour, shops, restaurants & bars but far enough away so you are not disturbed by the noise from the numerous bars & clubs. It is easy to find & is also perfectly located to explore the surrounding areas including the lovely Babbacombe Downs (with plenty of places to partake in cream tea) & the Cary Arms (a lovely pub situated right on the beach) The owners were excellent hosts, ready with a smile & a laugh, making for a very friendly & welcoming stay. They also made excellent tour guides as they gave great advice on where to go & what to see according to our interests, including the many breathtaking coastal walks you could do. Breakfast was second to none & gave us an excellent start to the day (much needed for the coastal walks!) There is a nautical theme in the house with interesting period furniture and the rooms are all named after oceans. We stayed in the Pacific room which had a beautiful, romantic four poster bed. The hotel was spotless & the gardens were amazing, with a veranda overlooking an outdoor pool, surrounded by a variety of trees & plants (though as our trip was the 1st week of March & we were the first guests of the season we could not use this facility!) This hotel is suited to all ages & with a communal lounge area with log fire would be good for larger groups to convene in the evenings as well as couples looking for a romantic weekend away. My husband & I would definitely stay there again."

Really relaxing stay
"Travelled down to the South Coast from Scotland with my wife to visit family. Found Paul and Linda a delight from the outset, very knowledgeable about the local area and enjoyed taking one of the coastal tours they had devised for motorists. Beautiful house, tastefully finished, our bedroom was very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. For lovers of exotic plants, the garden was amazing. We had only booked for one night but ended up staying for our whole trip. Would highly recommend."

exceeded all expectations, definately stay again
"when we pulled up to the hotel and parked our car we were greeted by Paul and Linda like long lost friends. our short break was off to a flying start., lots of useful advice on where to go and what to do, no effort was too great no detail too small. Our rooms which both overlooked the garden and shared a balcony were clean tidy and very well presented, much better than other more expensive hotels we have stayed in. Breakfast was excellent served in comfortable and quiet surroundings and although our visit was in October we were still able to enjoy a glass of wine or two on the veranda overlooking the spectacular tropical garden. All too soon our short break came to an end, but we will definately return again in the spring to a most welcoming, comfortable and freindly hotel."

Delightful well appointed hotel. owners Paul and Linda simply charming
"We have stayed at Cary Court several times and enjoyed relaxing in the tropical gardens or beside the pool. The rooms are spotless and attention to detail fastidious Paul and Linda are charming hosts and their local knowledge invaluable. This hotel is very well appointed and we highly recommend it to those discerning people who have come to expect just that little bit extra from their holiday in Torquay."
