"Visted the Ascot House Hotel on Saturday night staying in room 6. The hotel is a very nice building with a long history and has been very well refurbished maintaining a period feel by the owners, one of the most impressive features being the grand staircase.
The rooms are very comfortable with high ceilings, quality linen, flat screen TV and en-suite our room was a superior double.
Breakfast is very nice with a wide selection of choice. The full english breakfast is well presented and fresh. One of the things I really liked was the quality of the cutlery and the bone china crockery.
The hotel is clean with very pleasant owners and I would have no hesitation in recommending it."

"We stayed in The Ascot House Hotel last night, myself and my wife and our two children agred 6 and 2. We had the top floor suite with the Sea View....and my what a view it is complete with a set of binnoculars to view the ships sheltering in the bay. The room was v clean, spacious, lovely large bathroom/dressing room. The host Terri was lovely and couldnt do enough for my children,,,she even made my little boy a special cup of hot chocholate in a Thomas the Tank Engine mug for breakfast today, The hotel is well located, v clean, and the breakfast was something like i have never had in a small hotel...it was fantastic with a range of cereal, toast home made jams, and a english fry up cooked to order. Will definatelty be returning to the Ascot House Hotel....Highly recommend it!"

"A Great Hotel that felt like home, the room we booked was the superior room and it met all is expectations.
The breakfast that was served up every morning was second to none; I would also like to point out that the room was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay.
You can park your car in the Hotel car park and walk in to town or stroll to Tore Abbey
We would highly recommended that you try this Hotel"

"Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for two nights, Terri and Bernard are great hosts and the rooms lovely. Its in a good location, close to town, seafront and harbour. Breakfast is the best that my partner and I have ever had at a hotel and the fruit platter is a wonderful bonus. Also a little thank you to Bernard for good directions to Bath, it was much nicer route than the motorway."

"This was a superb find. Only booked the standard room as this was all that was left but at £60 per night compared well against others available. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly Terri and shown to our room which is at the top of the house and the only one which has a separate bathroom as opposed to an en-suite. This wasn't a major hassle but there was only 1 dressing gown supplied for "modesty". Room was very clean generally, the only dust seen was on the space under the dresser where we could put our case and a little bit on the table lamps, but this is being fussy! Comfortable bed with good array of pillows to get comfy. Breakfast was offered between 8-10 am and we have to say it was superb. The fruit platter Terri brings out fresh, when you come down is a really nice touch. The choice of full english or any other configuration is great along with cereals, muesli toast etc. Quality of breakfast was excellent on, and on the second morning Terri remembered how you like your drink, strong coffee etc. All in all a very good stay and would look to take one of the suites next time as caught a peek at on of the suites and looked very nice indeed. Will be recommending if anyone I know is visiting the area. Thank you Terri and Bernard!"

"Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner and 2 other couples for a friends wedding. On arrival we were taken to our room by Terri, we had been upgraded to the top suite, and another couple to the gothic suite, both these rooms were fab.
The top suite has views of the sea and a huge bathroom, the gothic suite had a seperate front room and access to the balcony which was lovely to sit out on in the sun. The other couple had a superior room which was nice as well, just a bit smaller.
The breakfasts here were brilliant, we had fresh fruit on the table, and then you could have a cooked breakfsat to order, and cereal, toast etc was help yourself. The hotel was also in a really good location to have a wonder round, 10 mins walk to the seafront, shops etc.
The only slightly negative thing was that we had quite a bit of noise durng the night with traffic and people going past etc. and we were on the top floor. Of course this cannot be avoided by the owners, and didn't ruin our stay whatsoever (and it was the first england game).
All in all this was a really nice hotel and if I ever return to torquay I would defenitly stay here, its very good value for money considering the breakfasts are included, and if you can , its worth upgrading to one of the suites in you want the wow factor.

Many thanks for accommodating us Ascot house"
