What a fantastic, individual place to stay.
"Coastal Fringes is a beautiful B&B, run by extremely welcoming hosts. We were met at the door as we arrived to be welcomed into a warm & inviting first class home from home. The Fontaine Suite is huge, well decorated with photos of Joan. A large bathroom with separate shower was a pleasant surprise. Homemade biscuits & fresh milk for tea & coffee added to a great arrival. Our stay was capped off in the morning with a large wholesome breakfast. Bring on Exmoor to walk it off. Overall 5 stars throughout."

If I ran an hotel this would be the standard to try and attain
"Lovely personal welcome, and the room was as described, spotless, beautifully decorated, and included comfy chairs and up-to date flat screen TV and DVD player. The meals were home cooked, plentiful, using all fresh produce and would have graced a 5 star restaurant, and the hosts had remembered our request with regards to our preferences for skimmed milk. The stunning array of graceful figurines and the decor made dining a really pleasurable experience. The hosts also provided a fund of information for where and what to visit. We cannot praise our hosts enough and would wholeheartedly recommend Coastal Fringes as outstanding in all aspects including value for money."

Best B&B we've ever stayed in! Exquisite decor & hospitality.
"We only had one night in Ilfracombe, but the minute we stepped foot in the 'Joan Fontaine' room we wished we were there longer. The attention to detail at this B&B is so impressive, the breakfast was extensive in choice and delicious, the room was stunning, very spacious, and more like a 5* hotel! Marianna was extremely helpful, and so welcoming, we look forward to our next stay very much!"

"This establishment is first class in every way. Attention to detail and personal service is second to none. The warmth and friendliness extended to us by David and Marianna was incomparable. Neither of them could do enough for us, they had thought of every possible way to help and assist their guests. The food was plentiful, varied, cooked to perfection and served very gracefully by Marianna. Every need was catered for, particularly the printouts prepared by David of trips around the local area by car and on foot and the additional brochures and leaflets made available of the local bus services, attractions and entertainment. The beds were extremely comfortable and the imaginative 1930's/40's movie star themes for their rooms created a magical and dreamlike ambience to this extraordinary establishment. We have visited many hotels, guest houses etc. over the years but this particular one is truly outstanding. Congratulations to Marianna and David for a unique experience and long may they continue to entertain far into the future."

absolutely awesome b&b ..the best ive ever stayed in over the years !!
"Firstly if we can start by saying the owners are extremely friendly and the house has an excellent atmosphere . The rooms are just amazing . Attentative to every detail . Beautifully decorated and a massive flatscreen TV too . The owners have spared no expense with the decor , we were gobsmacked when we entered our room . Themed to the memory of Anne Harding an actress from the black and white film days . Full with loads of interesting pictures . The bathroom was also lovely and extremely clean as is the rest of the house. Little attention to detail like little soaps resting on the towels and home made biscuits in the room with the usual hot drinks /kettle affair...though they even asked if we'd like fresh milk instead of the cartons for our hot drinks!! As for breakfast ? we couldnt eat it all and i like my breakfasts!!! all cooked to perfection. Enough of my blabber , try it for yourselves. If your after a few days in Ilfracombe or a romantic hideaway for a couple of days ... then you just gotta try here !!! you wont be dissappointed!!"

A welcoming, quietly elegant and relaxing place to stay
"From the moment you walk through the door David and Marianne make you feel at home. Both are thoughtful and charming hosts. The rooms are spotless, comfortable and quiet.
A short walk brings you to the Harbour and the shops as well as the scenic walks around the Ilfracombe coast.
Would I recommend Coastal Fringes to a friend or family member? Absolutely, although I might be tempted to keep it a secret!

"What a lovely bed and breakfast, probably one of the best we have ever stayed in. It is tastefully decorated, comfortable and very clean. We stayed in the Joan Fontaine Suite, which is a lovely, bright room, with a sitting area with two comfortable arm chairs. The delightful home-made biscuits are a lovely bonus on the refreshment tray. The considerate and helpful hosts, Marianna and David Holdworth, made the stay extra special with the little things like delightful home-made biscuits on the refreshment tray and star shaped fried bread with breakfast. If you touring North Devon, and are looking for a comfortable base, this is the place for you."
