Excellent hotel and service
"Positioned on the outskirts of Helston this hotel is an excellent base for exploring Cornwall. Comfortable rooms and friendly staff, Breakfast in the adjoining May Tree restaurant sets one up for the day. Stayed 3 nights, excellent service very friendly staff. Only down point 30 minute walk into Helston."

So nice we stayed an extra night!
"We originally booked for two nights at this Premier Inn, but we enjoyed our stay so much we added an extra night. Our room was very clean and comfortable and included everything you could wish for. Perhaps there could have been a little extra tea and coffee (only 2 sachets each), but nearby supermarkets enabled us to buy our own so this wasnt' a problem. The location is quiet and the view from our room was over farmland which was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and during our entired stay we never heard any other guests, so the soundproofing is very good indeed! We dined every night at the adjoining May Tree, mostly because we were unable to find anywhere else to eat in the area. The May Tree is in the Table Table chain and we found the menu to be a bit unimaginative and the cost and quality of the food not fantastic, although the service was very good. Breakfast was always excellent though. One thing that puzzled me slightly was that when adding an extra night, the cost per night rose to £80 from £70! Originally we'd booked for a night at another Premier Inn in Wiltshire which was going to cost us £54, so the price difference is very perplexing! Finally, I'd like to echo the comment made by another reviewer about the lack of free wi-fi. In my experience no Premier Inn offers free wi-fi, and this can cost as much as £5 per hour. If the Premier Inn chain sorted this out, I'd never stay anywhere else!"

Clean and comfortable basic hotel. Good value for money.
"My wife and I stayed here for a short break in March. The room was clean and comfortable and very good value for money. The WiFi was not free at this particular Premier Inn, which was a minor irritation. I don't know if Premier have sorted this out yet but worth checking if you need this facility. The welcome at reception when we arrived was good, but we noticed that it wasn't permanently manned while we were there. Breakfast is served in Table Table which is in an adjacent building and was fine. Would be happy to stay here again."

Brand New Clean, very modern and the shower is amazing.
"After driving non stop for 3 and half hours from West Berkshire with 2 boys aged 12 and 6 we checked into Helston Premier Inn. We were greeted by a very pleasant lady called Karensa. Rooms are new and modern with a flat screen TV's with all the freeview channels, very clean and tidy and ample space with 2 single and 1 double bed. Bathroom looked brand new and very clean. The shower is out of this world and could stay in there for hours on end. We asked for more pillows and coffee which arrived in minutes We used the pub next door for our evening meal and breakfast which was very good and the staff also were very helpful. I'm due back to Helston in the next 4 weeks and will be hopefully be staying there again if they have any availability. The only fault I had was the pillows were too puffy for me but I assume this is because they are new. If you are on vodafone there is no 3G, GPRS signal in the hotel room or in the pub, if you need to make a phone from a vodafone mobile we had to go in the car park at the front of the hotel there must be a black spot or something around there. This is a vodafone issue and not Premier Inn"

Quiet Location, staff need training
"We stayed here for a family event locally. It's a brand new hotel so the rooms are nicely decorated and clean. However, we were surprised as a family group who'd booked together to be in rooms far away from each other. There were only 2 teabags in the room and I had to go and ask for more. Also, the entrance door to the rooms had to be opened with a key card and we were struggling to get through with our luggage, yet no one from reception helped us, they just watched us struggling! One of our party had their car knocked and the staff said they couldn't help us, even though they have CCTV. The breakfast was in the restaurant next door and it was very pricey for what you got. All in all, OK for one night but basically accept it's a budget hotel. You can probably find a better B and B in the same area for less."

Good Hotel, Friendly Staff, Good Value
"We spent 2 nights here during a trip to Cornwall. All the staff both in the hotel and the adjoining Maytree pub were very friendly and helpful. The room was modern, clean and spacious. The breakfast in the Maytree was excellent with the hot food all being freshly cooked on demand. All in all a good budget hotel to use."

Excellant budget accomadation
"Following a long drive to Cornwell, we were greated by very friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacious and clean. We had taken our own travel cot which there was plenty of space. When we arrived the staff were concerned they had not put a cot in our room when we booked in with a baby and they were all set to go and arrnage us one! (We had not asked for a cot as we knew we had our own). The communal corridors etc were all clean and well looked after too."

Good Night Garuntee is a farce!
"This hotel was recommended to us by a family member living in the local area. Due to a late flight we arrived at 2am. The hotel knew we would be late arrivals. When we got to the hotel we were all completely exhausted. There were four of us checking into 2 rooms. The gentleman on reception obviously did not know how to operate the check in programme on his computer, kept making inappropriate chit chat while he was trying to figure it out. it took him half an hour to check the four of us in. By this stage we are asleep on our feet. The rooms are clean confortable and basic, but the noise from water pumps above the room awful. It kept us awake on both nights that we were staying there. Our travelling companions were staying on the same floor a few doors down and complained of the same problem. At a budget hotel you are paying to sleep and wash and that's pretty much it. The shower had no shower gel.shampoo in the despenser bottle. Something which is ever more important to provide now that traveling on planes with liquids is highly restricted. All in all I would not recommend this hotel."
