Cornwall has long been a popular place for British holidaymakers due to its great beaches and warm summer weather. It is also very popular with surfers, especially the city of Newquay which is known as the surf capital of England. There are a variety of coastal paths to walk featuring some spectacular views, especially around the Lizard. Bodmin Moor also attracts hikers and mountain bikers due to its numerous trails and stunning scenery. Other sights that should not be missed are Tintagel Castle, said to be the birth place of King Arthur, the Eden Project and St. Michaels Mount, to name but a few.
Due to its southerly location, Cornwall benefits from a slightly milder climate than the rest of the UK. The best months to visit, weather-wise, are the summer months of July and August, but it should be noted that this is when the area is at its busiest due to the school summer holidays.
