"We have just returned from a short break at the Hotel Ambassadeur. This is the second year running that we have stayed at this hotel having last year got married in Jersey and we staged our wedding reception at the Hotel. The food is superb with a good choice, the bar is nice although reasonable small, however, there is additional seating in the restaurant or lounge to relax. The staff are pleasant and polite and always willing to help. The hotel has an average sized pool which is only accessible through the hotel itself making it safe for children. The rooms are reasonable sized with en-suite facilities, tea & coffee making facilities and TV. The hotel is a 5 minute drive or a pleasant 30 minute walk from St Helier Town Centre and the bus stop is a 100 yards from the hotel. The beach is opposite the hotel and is clean, perfect for an evening stroll after dinner. There is ample parking behind the hotel and a games room with pool table and games machines. The only downside to the hotel is that it is on the main coast road which can be difficult and sometimes dangerous to cross.
All in all, it is difficult to find many faults with this hotel and you will be pleased with the choice should you stay here. I will be visiting this hotel again and the island itself is superb."

"We have just had a wonderful 5 days at the Ambassadeur Hotel. Our family room was spacious, cleaned everyday, fresh towels etc. We overlooked the swiming pool, which was well maintained.
Food was outstanding - full english breakfast , four course evening meal which was a mix of a'la carte and good english fare.Childrens special menu available on request.
There is an excellent games room to keep children happy whilst you have a quiet drink at the bar. Entertainment was every evening in one of the lounges, but there was no pressure to attend by staff, if like us you require a quiet holiday.
I must mention the incredibly hard working staff, as they always greeted us with a friendly face and couldn't have been more helpful.
The Greve d'azette bay was only across the road from the hotel, but you have to check the tide times everyday , as somedays the tide was out in the afternoon until 5pm or later. ( excellent place for a game of after dinner cricket or boules with the children, on a lovely summers evening).
A bus stop was a minute away from the front of the hotel and runs every 30 mins, all over the island, if required.
We have stayed four times on the island and this hotel was by far the best value for money, and makes a great base for your family holiday...... Going back next year - enough said!"

A great stay at the Hotel Ambassadeur
"Myself & my elderley mother have just stayed at the wonderful Hotel Ambassadeur! We were recommended to this hotel by our tour operator and what a great recommendation.
From the moment we booked everything that could have been arranged was from the ground floor room to the hire car waiting for us at the harbour on arrival.
From the moment we arrived at the Hotel Ambassadeur we were made to feel welcome with nothing being too much trouble, the staff and management were excellent.
We were staying on half bord as our tour operator have a free half board deal when we booked and the food was excellent with a good choice and decent portions.
One final thank you to the staff at 3X Travel who we booked through they were extremely knowledgable and couldn't of helped us more.
I would not to recommend this hotel and our tour operator to anyone thinking of going to Jersey.
All in all a superb holiday."

"Stayed at this hotel for four days at the beginning of February 2006. The weather was exceptionally cold and so was the atmosphere in the hotel. We were the only couple in the dining room on the first evening and needless to say with no heating and no background music it was very cheerless. The rooms were dated, one smelt strongly of smoke and both could have done with a lick of paint. The only friendly member of staff was the very nice waiter. One got the feeling that this hotel should not be open until the warmer weather. Will not be visiting again, sorry."

"We have just returned from a week's holiday and had a superb time. The hotel is very clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and as for the food......divine!
The bar is quite small to accommodate all guests at once but additional seating is in the adjacent restaurant if needed and you certainly wouldn't feel "left out". There is a lovely comfortable "quiet lounge" also.
We would book this hotel again."

Worth a stay
"Food excellent, service excellent, staff excellent especially the restaurant, rooms big, nice sea views. Only drawback is the heating if weather is cold. (the timeswitch needs adjusting and the radiators in the larger rooms are too small, also the bathroom heated towel rad didn't work)."

first time out-of-town
"The standard of cleanliness in both the rooms and restaurant were of a high standard, however I felt that there was something missing. The quality of staff left a lot to be desired. It seemed to be too much trouble to greet guests with a smile. The table allocated to my husband and myself was supposedly to be for the week but on two separate occasions when coming down to breakfast and on one occasion for dinner someone was sat at out table. The head waiter didn't seem overly bothered and left it to a waitress to sort out. Thank goodness she was more efficient. All in all disappointing"

good hotel for both couples and families
"Found it very good for self catering facilities but is now not available, walking distace & very short bus ride from outside to the town center, great beach across the road, and accomadation and hotel facilities very good.
this was a few years ago but looked the same when we went in 1998"

Wonderful holiday in Jersey at the Ambassadeur
"Just spent a fabulous week at the Ambassaduer with my family, located ideally in St Clement's Bay, suitable for everyone. Very welcoming, by all the Staff. The Ambassaduer has had an upgrade since we last visited fifteen years ago, it was good then but now excellent. Bedrooms quite large, furniture good, lots of space to put your belongings. Beds very comfortable, bathroom spotlessly clean, shower powerful, quality TV. Choice and quality of food excellent, always something on the menu even for non-adventurous eaters(like myself). The Staff were just fantastic, they were so professional and yet warm and friendly, we loved them all. After dinner entertainment was a plus, especially Rob, Eddy and Damien, three different acts, worthy of any theatre or television, fantastic. The games room and swimming pool were a bonus for our two teenage grandchildren. Only downside, should have booked for two weeks!"

"Just returned from a 4 day stay at this hotel. Pleasantly surprised. Good location opposite beach and within a very short walk to the bus stop into St. Helier. We had a room overlooking the beach. Some road noise but mostly quiet during the night. Staff very welcoming. Food whilst not spectacular was very good. Ordered omelette one night a couldn.t eat it all as very large!! (but very nice). Hope to return."
