Bodrum Princess Deluxe Resort & Spa
21 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
"Me and my wife stayed end of June into early July.... having stayed in many '5' star hotels we were a little dissapointed. No doubt that the staff are very friendly and attentive but did seem to struggle with communication. The hotel also seems to be orientated towards the European market with very few English couples / families ... at least whilst we were there.
The beach.... its tiny!!
The location means that you are almost certain to be confined to the hotel complex unless you take the shuttle bus to Bodrum which runs twice a day there and back. That said it is a stunning setting.
The hotel is spread over quite an expanse of space (lots of wasted space) and built into a hill .... this should be taken into consideration when booking, as together with the heat it can be very tiring getting from a to b.
Buffet restaurant was very good.... great choice and quality of foods each day. Couldnt fault it. There are 3 further restaurants with the usual unfair booking system but we did expect that. Food again was of good variety and quality.
Daytime entertainment was varied if you wanted to get involved but evening was average..... much better if the resident animation team were not involved...!!
The facilities of the hotel are very good... plenty of space around the pools and the spa I heard was good quality albeit on the expensive side. You dio however have to pay extra charges for use of pool table etc which i felt was a little unfair considering this is an all inclusive hotel.
Rooms are a fair size and clean and tidy..... beds extremely uncomfortable and set inches from the floor....look good but surely the most important thing is comfort? The 'terrace' space was a few squares of patio stone..... just enough for two chairs and no table!! Again a little dissapointing.
Overall we had a relaxing week although when you spend considerable money you expect most boxes to be ticked... on this occasion too many werent."

"My family and i stayed at this hotel during half term and we couldnt fault it at all. The pools were clean and the slide pool was excellent for the children. The staff were excellent friendly and really made our stay a pleasure. The kids club was excellent with a mini disco every night before the adult shows which were ok.We used the watersport facilities several times and i must say these are the most reasonable rates in europe i have come across the guys were really nice there too.The food was varied and a sunday champagne lunch was a lovely touch. The rooms were large clean and spacious the best hotel rooms i have ever stayed in.We will definately be returning sometime in the near future."

A Wonderful holiday
"Having read a hotel review which was less than complimentary I cannot believe that the writer was staying in the same hotel as myself. My friend and I had a wonderful time the hotel was spotless, an excellent choice of food, the room was large and very modern, we had not only a partial sea view but a full one. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The position of the hotel in its own bay was fantastic albeit a little out on its own but it did have its own beach. I could not ask for better facilities, it was great to be able to relax in the hotels exceptional Spa after a hard days' sun worshipping. There were poolside activities each day and some form of entertainment every night which was ok. The six pools gave ample choice for swimming and relaxing, these were spotless. My only criticism would be that during our stay a party of 550 business personel descended on the hotel for three days which rather spoilt the relaxed atmosphere. I have been on holiday to several gold hotels over the last severn years but this one is the best so far. I did not want to leave at the end of the week and would recommend the Bodrum Princess to all groups of people and I will return in the future."

A taste of paradise
"Have just returned from a week long holiday at Princess Bodrum with a group of 7 girlfriends. We had a fantastic relaxing week where we were thoroughly spoiled (no washing, cooking, cleaning, school runs etc etc). The food was first class with a choice of different restaurants to eat in throughout the week - all serving excellent food. The staff were extremely polite, accomodating and attentive at all times. The only criticism would be that the nightly entertainment was poor. It would have been nice to have a taste of some turkish entertainment instead of the same animation team doing the daily and evening entertainment (which was not of a great standard). Also some live music in the bar areas would have been better than having a band playing by the pool where no one really sat of an evening. All in all we had a great week, superb weather and I would recommend this hotel which is set in a beautiful location to anyone. We went to Ephesus, Turkish Baths, 5 Star Cruise and the Market in Bodrum which were all excellent. Would love to go again."

Brilliant hotel and service
"Brilliant hotel with excellent all inclusive option. Hotel standards are very high with service and cleanliness of the highest order. The hotel is fairly isolated but is relatively self contained in a beautiful spot. Transport is laid on if you wish to go into the towns for sightseeing or shopping.
I stayed for a week with my daughter and we are already planning to return later in the year. I do not usually write reviews but felt I had to on this occaision"

catch a Falling Star 5* to 3*
"sold by Soveriegn, luxury section of First Choice, as a 5* hotel where you will be pampered. there were 3 in our party.
on arrival at 5-00pm our room wasn't ready had to wait until
6-20pm. Got to the room, fantastic vey large but noticed only 1 bed, phoned to have another set up. opened the curtains to look our fantastic view which the hotel prides itself on, to find we are looking at the rear of another block. some 6 metres away is a wall. Asked to be relocated to be told Soveriegn had requested an "economy" room. This is based on location ie-garden view. offered to be moved to a part sea view room at additional cost of £300.
3 persons in the room but on a daily basis only towels for 2, had to contact guest relations to get more. This took upto 1 hour to get towels in the evning.
then the toiletries were not replace again phone call to guest relations, again a long wait to get them.
the swimming pools are great with fantastic views over the sea. unfortunately there is debris on the bottom of them. the splash pool where the 6 slides discharge has a greeny scum line at water level all around it. I never saw anyone cleaning the pools during my 2 weeks stay.
People were allowed glasses & cups etc by the pool (health & safety issue) but they would be there for 3&4 days at a time. they were not collected.
the restaurant was at best average, self service with repetative choice of menu. the staff were ot organised. the tables never seemed to get cleared. if you didn't get in by 8-30pm the food selection dwindled. Getting a table was a problem if you went to dinner at 8ish. it was self selection staff didn't always assist in finding one or preparing it.
Met with managers of guest relations who noted my concerns but things didn't improve.
Overall an hotel that is poorly managed, delivering average standards that may have been 5* in years gone by but is now at best 3*. this hotel needs to be better organised.
Soveriegn need to review it's brochure as it gives a glowing review but fails to mention if you book a standard garden room you are in fact getting an "economy" with no views other than another accomadation block.
Bodrum weather fantastic."

premium prices for economy holiday
"We were expecting so much more having paid a great deal of money for this holiday. The standard is definately not 5*. We were in a room on the ground floor with a view of a brick wall about 5 metres away. We had to have the light on even in the day. The service was about 2 star. The 'terrace' - a step really!! was only big enough for 2 chairs (no table). The waiters, guest relations and reception staff were less than interested and there were lots of issues such as only having 2 towels in our room for 3 guests which we complained about every night -even the rep complained 4 times and still on the last night we had yes you've guessed 2 towels.Toiletries were not topped up either. There is a lack of leadership from management, very little presence and certainly poor monitoring of standards. The restaurant is little more than a cafeteria. We had difficulty getting a table and main choices ran out if you were not there by 8.30pm. There was no dress code in the restaurant where guests wore beach wear, t shirts and flip flops!!. Crockery and plates were chipped and for breakfast the teaspoons were little sticks. The areas around the pool were not cleaned and crockery and glasses were left for days on end. The splash pool had a green scum ring around it. The slides were turned off for 2 hours each day to suit the staff rather than the guests. We booked the fish restaurant one night and were unable to have a table where we wanted over the sea as it was booked out to the managers wife!!! Guests really are not the priority here. The staff had a really bad attitude. If you want premium prices (can of coke £1.60, small can of beer £2.40 and Calypo £2.40) for poor service and accomodation then book the Bodrum Princess."

Not that good for the money spent...
"I get so many positive comments about this hotel so had very high expectations from the hotel as we also paid a very high amount... Unfortunatelly from reception, to rooms and restaurants this was not even a 4 star hotel as they are advertising this hotel as 5 star in Turkey.
The beds in the room were like the ones in army. The decoretion was like a 2 stars hotel. There was very low quality toilettries. There was huge lines in the breakfast,dinners...And service was bad in every part of the hotel. I have chatted with so many guests and all of them had the same kind of opinion.
Positive points: The beach club was amazing. They said it's managed separate than the hotel. Service, food and setting is excellent. Also hotel has 2 separate restaurants, one on the top of the hill made out of glass with an amazing view and an other one on the water. But you need to reserve these restaurants much in advance.
Overall experience it's not worted for the money paid. There are tons of better serviced hotels in Turkbuku like Divan Palmira, Macakizi,Maki and you can use the beach clubs and restaurants of Pricess as an outside customer."

Iberotel Bodrum Princess Hotel - relaxing is an understatement!
"Myself (25) and my girlfiend (24) stayed at this loverly hotel in October of 2005, the Hotel is an airy beautiful place, thats warm, welcoming and fantastically relaxing.
The tour operator gave this hotel a 4 star plus rating, both myself and my girlfriend agreed it deserved a better classification, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and always made themselves available.
The hotel has all the facilities you could require, I would definetley recommend the Turkish Bath at the luxury health spa that resides on one of the lower floors.
The food was excellent, there was food stuffs from around the world, all freshly prepared in front of you with selections for all appitites. The vast quantity of desert selections went down very well with my girlfriend!
A slight disappointment was the lack of beach, the hotel itself is set into the side of the hill that slopes down to a decked bay area that allows access for sunbathing and for swimming in the sea.
The man made beach is set into a small corner of the decked area and measures around 30 metres x 30 metres.
Travelling - From the airport it takes around an hour to get to the hotel, as coaches can't get to the hotel you have to transfer into a smaller vehicle 30 minutes from the airport.
From the hotel, Bodrum itself is a 20 minute free bus ride away, which departs every morning at 10am, and afternoon at 2pm.
This hotel is ideal for all travellers, I would specifically recommend this place to anyone that would like to get away from it all, and doing nothing more than taking it easy!"
