"I have just got back from a lovely holiday with a girl friend. The one bedroomed apartment was advertised as having a double bed and single bed plus a sofa bed in the lounge. Unfortunately there was only a double bed in the bedroom. We had to ask for a second bed and a Z bed was put in the room which was most uncomfortable.
Both of us work in high pressured jobs and whilst we were relaxing on the balcony on our first morning we were interrupted by a loud blast of a bugle followed by a cockerel noise followed by loud shouting to get up englanders. This lasted about ten minutes every morning at 10.00 am. This may be OK during high season when there are many families but the majority of guests were in the older age bracket. I feel sure that this was not popular. We went for a relaxing and stress free holiday but found this 10 am wake up call quite unpleasant.
Apart from the things mentioned, the staff were friendly, the cleanliness was amazing. We did not let the bed situation or the morning bugle call upset our holiday and we had a fantastic time."

"Well I have just come back from Kentia today, it was a wonderful holiday, I went with my daughter whom is 17 and she loved it also, so much so she is already planning to go back next year with friends. Rooms where very clean and had enough kitchen equipment in, bathroom was lovely and clean like new. The pool was large and very clean the only fault I could find was they didn't have enough sunbeds. It was a walk to get to town centre but plenty of taxis around to take you for 10 lira. We did the shopping bonanza trip for £7 each well that was a disappointment as it was going to expensive outlets e.g. Leather and Jewellery, and when we got to the bit everyone could afford we were rushed through even though we had loads of time in the expensive places. But back to the Kentia all the staff especially all the bar and resturant staff were fantastic nothing was to much touble. Food was lovely and no jippy tums found here. Entertainment by those lads was amazing also considering they had been working since Six AM and they were all dancing away at gone Ten at night. There was a large supermarket out on main road just up from petrol station called Bim this was very cheap. Overall I would recommend these apartments to anyone it was good for families, couples of young or old. We loved it and I really can't see why you wouldn't too."

amenities and facilities in the kentia apartments
"I have only arrived back in England today after apending a week in the Kentia Apartments in Side,B4 i went to the Kentia Apartments I read some reviews which i took them on board to find out what the true and the false ones were.Myself my partner and 2 young children (7&3) Had a wonderful time there from the moment we got of the plane and arrived at the apartments,we were greeted by the receptionist then the porter carries our suitcases to our room,The rooms were so spotless and the cleaners there work so hard and are very friendly they understand very little English but they always give you a smile. The food is nice but can be quite expensive, i mean don't let this put you off because some nights they have deals on like Turkish night which was fun and they also put on shows like the magic show which i thought was amazing,Martin looks after the children in mini club and he is wonderful with the children he has so much time for them and they do get a very close bond which i think was lovely, you don't rea;;y have to get airconditioning as there is a shop up the road which sells fans alot cheaper also they try to get you to hire the safe in your room, we just put a little padlock on our suitcase haha otherwise its 40 lera for a safe,The resort is not within walking distance from the beach if u have young children there are taxis outside the apartment ll the time and a price list outside for how much it costs to your destination. It does get a bit annoyin when you step out and only want to go to the shop 2 minutes away and they come up to u shouting taxi, the market by the aoartments i thought was good but when they grab u and try to make you buy and also pack it in a bag for you b4 you say yes can be very off putting,The apartments in itself are gorgeous and well live up to your expectations, well im so tired very jet lagged but i hopr this information as helped you and it's also true about the sunbeds you have to go down very early to get one otherwise you will not have one, also if you do go to the Kentia apartments there is an outside restaurant opposite the Mosk there is a park right by the side of the restaurant,go there so so cheap, and the head waiter there is great,oh and one other thinh mamut he is the best entertainer, dancer there and the most freindliest thats all for now as i am almost falling in to sleep mode writing this hope you enjoy your holiday"

"Kentia -what a fabulous complex ,although arriving at 5am and really tired
on entering Kentia and being shown to our apartment for the next 2 weeks ,my husband
and myself were very impressed, when we woke it really amazing to see how clean
everything was, the ammount of space in the apartments fab Balcony we then went to
the restaurant for a late breakfast ,and as it was our first ever visit to Turkey
and we are of the young at heart age group ,we were a bit apprehensive, but Sonar came over answered any queries we had and we knew we would have the best fortnight.
We relaxed in the sun and the pool which you just have to try so so cooling and is the
daytime meeting place for all ages and it did not matter what country you came from we all
managed to make friends old and young alike .
And the the evenings ,meals the the Famous Kentia Staff Dance it was great and everyone
loved to join in ,it has to be the best holiday we have had in terms of ambience, facilities, everything anyone could ever want ,but Kentia i am so sorry i could not give you a 10 as the one thing that let you donwn was what we and evryone thought
was how expensive the air-condition charge was,it was also something we could not do without.
but that little blip could not spoil a Fantastic Holiday.
see you soon

APARTMENTS My boyfriend and I had an ex...
My boyfriend and I had an excellent holiday in the Kentia. The apartments are lovely- clean and modern with beautiful gardens surrounding them. They are tidied every day, with sheets and towels changed 1/2 times per week. The pool is a very good size with lots of sunloungers. The apartments were definately the best part of the holiday. The food in the restaurant is as good as anywhere in Side, and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
There is a dolmus (bus) into the centre of Side which you can catch outside the apartments, or you can just walk which takes 20-25 mins. Its a straightforard walk following the main road, but would be unbearable in the heat of the day in july/august. Side is very pretty around the harbour with various bars and restaurants overlooking the sea. There are lots of shops in Side selling clothes/perfume/jewellrey etc which was not for us so we just spent our evenings around the harour. There are a few nice sandy beaches in Side which are about 20mins from the Kentia but we preferred to stay aound the pool as it was gorgeous.
Whilst of holiday in Side we went on 2 trips which we booked through thomas cook but they are probably cheaper if you book in side! The 'sizzle and swim' boat trip was lovely where you stop to swim in the warm sea waters and have lunch on board, included in the price.
We also went of the Jeep Safari which takes you up into the mountains for sigh seeing and swim stops, as well as lunch overlooking a beautiful lake. This trip would have been fantastic if it had not poured down with rain!! Thats the trouble with going on holiday in mid/late sep- it might rain!!
Overall an excellent holiday, ideal for couples or families. Would probably go at the begining of september next time as there is much less chance of rain (it rained for 1 and a half days within our weeks holiday 16th-24th sep)."

"Had a lovely holiday at the Kentia but a week of mixed feelings.
As noted in previous reviews standard of accomodation is excellent, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Decor modern and comfortable with few nice touches of Turkish style, gardens well kept and pool area spotlessly clean. Restaurant and bar staff fantastic providing basic but good quality food with superb customer service. Entertainment was good fun.
On down side (& it makes me sad to write this but feel people should know) a lot of people including ourselves experienced overbooking and were asked to change rooms during their stay. Upon arrival we were told we would be recieving one apartment for four adults rather than the more expensive two studios we had booked. Every day 3/4 room numbers were called out over pool tanoy and told to go to reception- 2 days before we were due to leave our number was called out, we were told that we HAD to move rooms! Unecessesary hassel. This playing around with rooms is probably to make sure rooms are earning money every single hour however as a rehearsed traveller I have never experienced this before and it struck me as rather unprofessional and greedy. From grumbles around the pool it was obviously not just us it annoyed and experience would make me nervous about returning to Kentia again.
Maids came every day so pretty clean. Towels changed once a week. Floors only swept (bizarrely only hallway and not kitchen area with crumbs?!), not mopped all week so black feet after you've had a shower. Perhaps maids have changed since previous reviews?
Bit of a battle for the sunbeds going on - don't expect one unless you're up early! Kentia made no attempt to stop people reserving them and going off for hours - felt they should really be removing towels as it's a little unfair as not enough to go around. Loud music around pool all day, wouldn't recommend Kentia if you like relaxing in peace and quiet! On plus side music created happy holiday atmosphere and was varied catering for all ages.
Beach quite dirty, lots of cigarette ends etc, I'd head for clean beaches of Mallorca or Portugal if I had kids as wouldn't want them playing in rubbish.
Ugur restaurant, turn right and right again and it's on corner, supberb. Excellent service and very cheap. Avoid rep recommendations, we ate at suggested Aphodite & service was shocking, all our meals were awful and was most expensive meal of week. Thomas Cook probably just earning advertising money from them. Watch out for price of spirits and wine - £30 bottle house wine - owch!
Turkish Bath lovely - must be done. Serously avoid Selale tours as recommended in AA Essentials guide. We went on Moon Star jeep safari and it started to rain. Canvas roof leaked to point where we could ring out our clothes and towels, water came up through broken floor, doors wouldn't open and jeep nearly slid of mountan road. Driver ignored all our plees to stop, very scary experience especially with two little children on board. Probably should of booked through rep as probably would of been health and safety checked. Lesson learnt.
Overall Kentia was a good little find for a last minute cheapish deal - but can think of better places for a special once a year family holiday. Turkey's tourist industry has a lot of catching up to do and lessons to be learnt. The people were truly lovely though and this would make me return."

"This is an excellent aparments. The facilities are excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful soner, ali, kadir an mahmut. There is so much to do if you want but you can also just laze by the pool or on the beach if you wish. Foods is good and great value for money Kentia Kebab is the best. You will never be without anything recommend a fishbowl and sex on the beach they put a whole bottle o vodka in it and loads of sparklers and straws etc. The staff are entertainment enough, but it is the small things they do that make the difference, always making a special effort for birthdays or anniversaries. Thanks to all at Kentia Aparments for a fab holiday. we will be back soon "

"Well what can I say... we got to the KENTIA late at night and could not believe our eye's, the Kentia apartments have been rebuilt and the accommodation blew me away, this is the best resort we have stayed at.
Oh and the food is great! we ate in Kentia every night. The kids only want burgers, of course, but we got them to eat Kofte which are very nice and look like little burgers. Certainly better then the normal stuff. The bar is excellent and you can see most rooms from the tables in the bar/restaurant.
No complaints whatsoever, the accommodation is fantastic and the staff are so helpful. Thank you very much for Soner(Rest.Bar Manager)and his staff A great restful break and all thanks to The Kentia.
We are definitely going again. "

" We have just returned from a 2 week holiday staying at Kentia Apartments and I have mixed feelings on the whole, we had a lovely relaxing holiday great food and the weather was beautiful but I do ask myself whether there was anything special about the holiday and the honest answer is No.
Staff could not do enough for you. The Restaurant attached was fantastic. Food was really good,(Kentia Kebab,Testi Kebab are nice to try) no complaints at all. Sonner(Rest.Bar manger) and Mahmut (Barmen)could not do enough for us.
The pool and bar area was clean and the staff amiable. The atmosphere around the pool was relaxed and friendly and the children of all ages and nationalities mixed well. The managers and staff were always ready to help with any problem.
I already booked for next year. see you with all at 2009."

" A fantastic place to stay with great friendly staff!! The hotel is a 5 minute cab journey outside of Side and the same from the beach! The accommodation was clean and very well looked after with their being a maid service everyday to tidy the rooms, they change the sheets and towels twice a week. We really suggest eating at the on site restaurant, the food is as good as any where else in Side! The whole staff were friendly and would do anything they could to help and make our stay pleasant and enjoyable! The swimming pool was fantastic, with their being a full days activities including water gymnastic and water polo! However nobody was pushy and you could join in at your own free will!
This is a great place for couples and families alike, I would definitely return!!"
