65 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
"My friend Amy and myself, have been going to this hotel for the past four years. We love this place. The hotel and bar staff are friendly, and welcoming. We have made many friends over the years at this hotel, staff and visitors.
The rooms are basic, but mainly all have a pool side view, unless you have the apartments (which we have never been in). You do have to pay a supplement for use of the air conditioning, and the fridge, but it only works out at around £10 per week for each item. We have generally paid around the £320 mark for a two week stay for two weeks.
The hotel offers a free bus to the beach, as previous reviewers have stated you are not permitted to take food and drink, as there is a beach cafe there. You do get your sun bed for free though along with a sun umbrella so whats the matter with buying a few drinks (which are hand delivered to your sun bed). There is also a Turkish massage downstairs in the hotel, I personally haven't been as as soon as the sun hits me I burn :( Scottish skin you see. But from other guests who have visited have said it is excellent.
Breakfast consists of a mainstream Turkish breakfast - Meats, Olives, Fruit, Tea/coffee/fruit juice, toast and eggs. You can pay a little more for something else such as cereal.
There is several tourist agencies near by who offer day trips, i cant remember the name of the one we use but there are several. Top tip, if they look dodgy don't use them. We went on the Delpin (Dolphin) tour. It consists of a pirate boat from the harbor and sailing West towards several island (great for the tan, and stops within open water for swimming. If you are unsure about the depth of the water, ask for a life-vest which they will be more than happy to provide. Lunch is also included.
Finishing off my review, please do visit this place. I know some reviews are negative but in my eyes these people expect a 5* accommodation. Its a 3* B&B and provides the best service.

V. G. with family and friends.
"Rooms - Lovely, big and clean rooms. The bed sheets and towels were changed every day. The power was on and off all day so the air conditioner which was only in bedroom but not in sitting area, needed to swich on all the time. When the power went off the generater was put on, but it was very loud noise and smoke and ash would come into my rooms. After i complained the manager fixed the problem.
Food- Very tasty, lot of salad varieties but the mail course was poor, chips and rise every day, soup changed every day and was tasty. No deserts or fruits at all. The breakfest was the same, lack of varieties, not even water, you had to buy it. The best thing was barbeque and water melon.
Staf - Very nice, friendly, helpful and entertaining staff. They would respond very quick and politely.
Entertainment - On Tuesday was belly dance night which didn't last long and another karaoke and staff dance night. They were very artistic and we enjoed dancing with them.
Prizes - We were very surprised as the prizes were much, much higher than we expected or higer from other countries we have traveled.
Location - Far from the centre, if you have children or old people with you. Very quiet and not much entertainment for young or people that like to party. Limited restaurants and clubs.
Beach - The traveling to beach was for free. You are not alowed to take drinks or snacks in the beach as they want you to use the restaurant that was not cheap and the prizes can change any moment. The sand wasn't fine.
There are different acticities, expencive but you can bargain."

A pleasant surprise
"When we first arrived we were a bit surprised by the basic standard of the room but we reminded ourselves that we were not in a four star plus hotel. The negatives are that you have to pay for basic items for the room, such as the fridge! On the plus side the friendliness of the staff by far makes up for any shortcomings
We had a great time and would seriously consider staying here again. The pool and the bar were great and plenty to do in the evening if you wanted to stay in the hotel. We often ate out at some wonderful turkish restaurants or you can do the Brit pub abroad if that's your thing.
They must be doing something right as a number of guests are frequent visitors or, like us, would stay again."

A Brilliant Holiday!
"We booked this holiday because we found a an amazing deal last minuite, so booked it straight away. After looking at some of the reviews we were a bit unsure about what the place would be like, but decided then to enjoy it nevertheless, look at the positive of everything and enjoy the sunshine.
We went in July this year and i was a amazing holiday and the hotel was great. The staff were always very helpful, carrying suitcases to our room in the early hours of the morning with a smile on their faces making us feel welcome. The room was very clean and neatly prepared. The balcony looked down on the pool, which was great, and in the room we also had a flat screen tv to use, which we wernt expecting.
The food is lovely, and even if you want to eat outside the hotel, it is located near lots of different style resturants including an english one "the red lion".
We walked to Side harbour all the time, once you know the way there, its an easy walking distance. We even managed to catch the bus once, just remember to get off at the right stop, haha.
There are buffets available on certain days at the hotel, such as BBQ night, and two others, including a karioke night.
There is a massage place at the hotel where you are able to have a turkish bath, i had a chocolate massage, so that was an experience.
Our room was cleaned everyday and the cleaners were all very friendly, and definately did their job well, they always seemed to be working. The hotel had a shop that had foods such as buscuits, cakes and drinks.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my holiday! I would advise this hotel to people and realy want to go back there again. Just dont go there expecting 5 star.
Thankyou to all the staff for making our time there great and for being so friendly. "

"my husband myself and 2 kids have just got back from pasha star hotel and to be honest we absolutely loved it. After reading lots of bad reviews we were dreading going. The staff and waiters were all fantastic and couldnt do enough for us. The food was really good and plenty of entertainment. the pool was clean and apartments for 4 were big. we didnt get charged for the fridge or kettle so we were very lucky. the air con costed 85 lira per week and the trick with getting it for free doesnt work, unless we had different air con units. sultans restaurant just 30 seconds walk had fantastic food with free starter and free dessert. efes was just 4 lira. the waiters at the hotel dont mind you buying from the reception and drinking in there restaurant. they were all fantastic especially mehmet , he was very friendly and also jimmy. We will definately book again for next year. cant wait."

"Myself and my partner stayed at Pasha Star September this year, total let down!!!! The staff are rude especially around the poolside bar, if you dont eat within the hotel the staff dont even acknowledge you, give you dirty looks and laugh and talk about you amongst themselves. The rooms are very basic and our beds were changed once the whole 7 days we were there, if you happen to get a little bit of dirt or makeup on your towels you are charged ridiculous rates!!!!! All staff including the bar staff have ascess to your rooms which i found out by being woken up approx 01.00am to one of the bar men letting himself into our room without even knocking!!!!!!!. I would advise not to go to this hotel Side is a lovely part of Turkey just the hotel in general was a total let down and all the staff there need to learn some manners. Other holiday makers whilst we were there were even bought to tears by there total lack of respect for people who choose not to eat and buy drinks within the hotel, surely this is why you go bed and breakfast???? obviosly not in there case. Could not wait to come home."

Pasha Star Hotel, Side
"Although, I loved Manuel when he was waiting at 'Faulty Towers', as Manager of Pasha Star, the joke wore very thin.
The bar staff are given to sneaking up behind the ladies and tickling their ears. Not even funny the first time!
If there is any justice in the world, Mamet will be offered a job at Hotel Bablyon. Mamet was the exception that proved the rule.
What can I say about Billy? Nothing good.
It is possible to plug the fridge in, if you are willing to re-arrange the furniture first. Alternatively, pack a screwdriver!
My main regret is that I was not rude to the staff before I checked out.
The only positive reviews relate to the Western run bars and not this hotel.
The management are greedy and incompetent. Do not stay here unless you are looking for an easy fight."
