Relaxing & friendly Hotel
"Really enjoyed my holiday at this hotel and in the locality. Staff were helpful if you need anything. And lots of organised nights at the hotel which made it very welcoming. Restaurant at the hotel is fantastic, and very good value as well. Always tasty food and very well presented that I was amazed how lovely they served my meals. Rooms looked after very well, always clean towels. The swimming pool lovely, plenty sun loungers, nice staff that wait on you for drinks at the pool. I'd recommend booking here again for sure. "

Au contraire ... :-)))
"Once you have finished reading Jenny's review, full of sour memories as it is, let me update you the sweet facts of present time: Hotel Palmiye is a gem. My 21 years old of age daughter had a most enjoyable stay in August 2009 due to the absolutely great and good service delivered by the fantastic staff who ALL made our stay a memorable one. I have in this lifetime stayed in more hotels than I care to remember, and what makes Palmiye Otel absolutely and outstandingly unique is its management's and staffs' great blend of politely professionalism mixed with a courteously conduct resulting in an always relaxed and friendly approach and attitude to all duties and situations arising, be they great or small. We always felt tremendously welcome, safe and AT HOME! Last but not least: The rooms were cleaned each and every day. No problemos! "

Brilliant for all the family
"Have just come back from a week in Palmiye - don't know of many other places where each member of the family is so well catered for (I got to do my watersports, my wife got to take some dance lessons and relax by the pool and our 4-yr old had a great time in the Mini Club). Some tips for those who don't know about Club Med: - it is a french company, so expect to meet lots of french staff and guests (most staff spoke good English) - probably as a direct consequence of being French, the food is good (3 buffet meals per day) - the staff will try to cajole you into group activities (singalongs, dancealongs etc) by the pool or during the evening entertainment. Be prepared for it and try to get into the spirit of things - you'll have more fun. - Check the brochure/website carefully - each Club has a different focus (childcare, nightlife, types of sports on offer) - make sure to book the one thats right for you and you'll have a great time."

don't choose this hotel
"I would definitely not recommend this hotel. The manager had a scary look and was flirting a lot with the guests. The staffs were all the time looking at you and were very flirtatious with the other guests i know and with my company as well. I found this very irritating since all we needed was a peaceful holiday. There were signs everywhere that it's forbidden to buy food and drinks from the nearby market. The rooms were filthy, carpets on the floor were very moist and smelled awful. We had to beg for toilet papers and the towels were hard like sand papers. Overall, i will never come bact there."

Perfect family holiday
"We stayed at the club for one week end of October with our three daughters (12, 2, 0 years). It was my first club holiday and I was sceptical about it, but there was no reason to be: Holiday was perfect. The whole complex is huge and so you never felt to be in the crowd, although the club was booked out. We stayed at the hotel and had two connected and nicely decorated rooms, I would say good 4 star standard. Our oldest daughter was happy in her teenager group, with the nightlife and the program and many children around. We were happy with the little ones to chill out in the sun or make nice walks at the beach. The water is wonderful, as the location with the mountains behind the hotel. Best of all is the food: Quite amazing what the Turkish cooks are celebrating three times a day, for all tastes with perfect local dishes and children food alike. The atmopshere is relaxed, the stuff is friendly, locals and internationals alike. If you are for total peace, might be not the place to go, but perfect for a relaxed week with some entertainment for the children. Only minor point: We thought to have booked a 'sea view room', it turned out to be a 'sea side room', so you might take care about that before you book... And be aware that it is mainly a french club, so that's the first language to speak, also for the cildren."

DO NOT GO SELF CATERING AT THIS HOTEL. ...
"DO NOT GO SELF CATERING AT THIS HOTEL. BELIEVE ME YOU WILL BE COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED. TURN IT DOWN IMMEDIATELY THE NAME OF THIS HOTEL IS MENTIONED. We arrived and almost burst into tears at the basicness of this hotel. There is no kettle no toaster no microwave. Self catering is the last thing they cater for - believe me. Talking to other people who were self catering they didnit even have a fridge!!! or a hotplate some of us were lucky and had a hot plate which took about 30 minutes to boil enough water to manage to make a cup of tea!!!! There are notices everywhere telling you that you are not to bring food or drink from outside into the hotel - hey we are self catering what are we supposed to do? Talk about basic ( I had read some of the reports on the site before I came but thought they were being ridiculous - they were not. The bedroom had two SINGLE BEDS - not what we envisaged for a fortnights holiday - wheres the romance in that and we even had a single bed in the so called Kitchen. And when I say the bedroom had two single beds that is exactly what I mean - just two single beds no bedside cabinet no table lamp no NOTHING just the beds thats it!!!!! The toilet was to say the least disgusting and you are not to put ANY toilet paper down in the bowl as this will block the system you have to put it into a bin beside the toilet!!!!! There was no hot water so even after 12 hours in this [--] pit we couldnt have a proper wash let alone a shower. There are no plugs to the sinks so you men could have a problem shaving if you cant fill thje bowl up with water - firstly because you cant get any hot water and secondly because it is all going down the plug hole. There is a SMALL wardrobe no cupboard space basically nowhere to put your belongings - in fact after 24 hours I havent even had the incentive to empty my suitcase. This cost us as much as what a 4*/5* does in other countries all inclusive where all food and drink are included and here we still have to buy our food on top of what we paid for flight and accomodation. For instance a bacardi cost 9 turkish lira (4.50) The shop right outside sells water for 5 turkish lira whereas 100 yards down the road at the 101 supermarket it cost 2.30turkish lira - more than twice the price - they are here to just con you out of money left right and centre The air conditioning cost 40 pounds a week on top of the extortionate amount that you have already paid. When speaking to other people booked in for self catering there comments will be exactly the same - and most of us after 24 hours hadnt even had the incentive to have a wash and they didnt even know that there wasnt any hot water DO NOT COME TO THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE COMPLETELY DISILLUSIONED - obviously I cannot speak about people in the hotel who are not self catering but the brochure does not tell the truth and I will definitely be avoiding at great lengths in the future that has GOLDTRAIL beside the information because their criteria of what a hotel should offer is not in any way even close to what I expect to find. Take no notice of what you read in the brochure about the beach being across the road it is at least a 15 minute walk from the hotel. I apologise for any strange letters in this text but I am using a Turkish computer where some of the letters are apparently different from ours even though they might show the same on the keyboard. PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DISAPPOINTED "

"I have to say I was dubious after reading all the reviews for Palmiye. I have just returned after spending a week there and I have to say that I had a great time. Our room wasn't massive, but there was plenty of room for the two of us. Our room was cleaned and our sheets and towels changed every day. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help you if you needed it. Yes, it's basic, but where isn't in places like Turkey and Greece? I suppose it depends on what kind of holiday you're looking for, if you want to stay in the hotel by the pool for the whole holiday and miss out on all that Side can offer, then yes, I can understand why some people might not like Palmiye. But for those who like to get out and about easily, eat in great Turkish restaurants whilst watching the Sea Turtles, walk around ancient ruins, venture in the mountains on a jeep safari where you visit the waterfalls, mosque etc, then Palmiye is perfect. (If you do go to Palmiye, you definately have to stay in for the Turkish Night, I usually find these things quite tacky but I thought it was brilliant!)"

"This is a self catering apartment hotel. The hotel has got new owners this year and it has changed for the better. Amanda and Serkan are fantastic they can't do enough to help you. They also have a restuarant in town called uncles it is one of the most popular resturants in town if not the best the staff and food is amazing the staff are so friendly they will take you anywhere you need to go if you can't find something i truly beleve that is why people come back to the palmiye and uncles every year like us. There is a fridge; kettle; cooking ring; hair dryer; tv with satalite in the rooms so don't pack any of that. hope you have a great time we always do and will be back again in september thanks everyone at palmiye and uncles you are the best "

"I stayed with my 3 teenage daughters (13, 16 and 17) for 2 weeks in Club Med Palmiye in july 2008. It was excellent. You have to like the weather which was very hot (up to 38 degrees Celcius). The food was very, very good and the sport facilities were also terrific. You can waterski and sail all day if you want. For me the big advantage was that my daughters could go out every night safely. First they visited the shows (which were not that bad) and after the show they went without me to the disco until 3 am. Under 18 you cannot order alchol. An advantage is that Club Med Palmiye is with the Club Med on Sicily one of the biggest with around 1500 guests so there were a lot of teenagers to meet. Rooms were basic but good (we stayed in the villagio). If you like the "Club scene", you like sports and you like excellent food, this is the place to be. Don't go when you are on a diet, want peace and tranquility and hate sport...."

Club Med Palmiye, Turkey
"We have just spent one week at the Club Med Palmiye. The resort is excellent for families and also for couples and teenagers. The grounds are beautifully kept. The food is exceptional (the best I have ever had in an all inclusive resort), the choice and presentation of dishes excellent. The pool areas are good with a great kids club seperate pool area with waterslides. Beach towels are available. The only thing which lets this place down is the evening entertainment. It was usually very boring. Not at all up to the standard of other hotel shows. All in all a great place for a holiday."

"We stayed for a week in June of last year and had a marvelous time. The location is out of this world. Your own bay in front, gorgeous mountains behind and no other hotels or buildings in sight. The grounds were covered with all kinds of flowers and waterways with real swans. The food was great even our picky kids enjoyed everything they tried. Many delicious Turkish dishes as well as International ones. We had two connected rooms which worked out great. More space for kids and more privacy for us. Furniture was new and modern - nothing upscale except flat screen TV. Kids enjoyed the Mini club and the pool with water slides. It was lovely for us to have time as a couple while they were entertained and feed. We had absolutely no worries about the kids while they were away. We stayed at many other Club Meds (Cancun, Punta Cana, Beldi). With all honesty this was the best location so far. Planned to be in Kamarina/Sicily in two weeks because of our wonderful time in Palmiye and I don't see how it can be any better. We'll wait and see!"
