"There is nothing magical about this tulip!!!
Me and my boyfriend turned up at the hotel at 2am on a sunday, very tired and just wanted to get some rest. When we got there the man on reception had his bed out and was watching T.V, not very professional if you ask me. He was very miserable and hardly spoke to us. He took us to our room and then shut the door as we walked in without saying anything.
We were put in a basement room which felt like being in a prison cell, the room was very dirty, lots of cobwebs, the sheets obviously had not been changed as there were black marks on them, and there were lots of ants and spiders in both the rrom and the bathroom...We certainly did not want to stay here as this wasn't what we had paid for.
We only slept a couple of hours and when we woke up we were really looking forward to breakfast as we had hardly eaten anything, but when we got there all they had was ham, cheese, and bread, and to top it off there were flies everywhere. We decided to go without and get some fruit from the local shops.
As we took a walk around Olu Deniz we didn't really think much of it and there wasn't alot there.
In the end we moved to another hotel in Hisaronu which was much nicer.
I would DEFINATELY NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!"

"Just come back from a two week stay at the magic tulip beach and had a brilliant time. Olu deniz is a fabulous resort with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, it is also not at all rowdy. The waiters are very friendly, and i am even thinking of going back next year. I would definatly reccomend as it is a brilliant holiday for couples and families."

"Stayed in July this year. Like most people we was put in the basement which was a disgrace, considering we booked this as a honeymoon, and we never got any of the free gifts for a honeymoon stay as the brochure stated, and the brochure also states that all rooms have poolside view. This is NOT the case! The next morning we complained and was moved to a room overlooking the pool, but ALL arriving british tourists was sent to the basement. By the time we left after a fortnight EVERY basement room was occupied with brits, and every upper room was occupied with Turks.
We got talking to one of the staff, who was very helpful and we became friends, and he told me that the staff was instructed NOT to talk to the British tourists and just do their job, It was a bad atmosphere at the bar/restaurant and would NOT advise anyone to stay in this hotel.
Also our air-con in the room was leaking water all over the bed, despite many complaints to the staff it was never sorted.
Also the breakfasts was very disappointing.
Overall Olu-Deniz is an excellent resort, However I would NOT come back, I would rather stay in Hisoranu (up the road) as the family who own this hotel own most of the hotels in Olu Deniz

" What can I say? Highly recommend this hotel, very central, family run hotel, very clean and if you ever go to Olu Deniz this hotel is a must. Breakfast if basic but all you need with cheese, bread etc.
The pool is lovely with plenty of loungers so no need to get up early. Hotel bar is great and very cheap, Ebo the ownerâs son runs it and is very friendly.
Nights out in the resort is quite low key with plenty of restaurants. The olive grove opposite the hotel is a must the lamb shank is to die for, but the standards of all the restaurants are very good.
This resort is mainly for couples as the night life is low key but the enjoy bar offers karaoke which is a laugh.
Give this resort a try you wonât be disappointed."

"Where do I start? Got to the room and the first room we were put in the bathroom was disgustingly filthy, you couldnât see the colour of the ceiling or the tiles as it was covered with mould. We complained and got moved to another room, which was larger but not much better. The bathroom still had mould all over and the shower head was unclean, the walls had squashed insects all over them and the floors didnât look like the had even been swept. As we went to get in to the bed and pulled the sheet back all the sheets had big stains on them!
We decided to have tea there and my partner ordered stuffed chicken breast. She cut it open and all the chicken was raw, we complained but they did nothing about it. None of the staff ever spoke to us or smiled at us after we had complained.
The pool area is very nice and clean but that was the only good thing about the hotel. I would definitely never go back to this hotel and certainly would not recommend it.
Olu Deniz on the other hand is beautiful and we have booked to go back next year but not here.

"Extremely clean hotel, with lovely pool and bar. The maids are extremely friendly and courteous, the male staff that run the bar and catering side are not quite so happy!
Turkish night on offer at the hotel was 25ytl, which I felt was overpriced for the food that was on offer but the belly dancer was good fun and had the guests up dancing too.
The room was a good size with a nice balcony, with a lovely bathroom and shower but the mattress was rock hard and the bed cover was a bed spread so if you like a cotton sheet bring your own! Aircon in all rooms payable on arrival at £2 per day.
If you are a football fan, all major matches are shown in the bar on a big screen, as they are in seemingly every bar in Olu Deniz!"

Hotel Tulip has been improved-hot water
"In the last year the Magic Tulip has been partially renovated and has had extra rooms added.
It is a basic hotel, but is small and friendly. Food is fresh and meals and drinks reasonably priced . We found it to be exceptionally clean.
It is also very "central" being close to local shops, beach, restaurants etc.
Despite this it is still a fairly quiet environment.
A note on hot water!!!! In the past few years there has been a move to use solar power for water heating in this area of Turkey. The magic Tulip also has had this installed. This means that if all the hot water is used up in the evening, water tanks will not start to heat up until dawn of the next day!
This means that in the mornings the water can be lukewarm or cold, but with temperatures in the 30s it does not really make a lot of difference. In the evenings the water is always hot.
N.B. if you have problems with water, ensure your tap is marked correctly ! Ours was hot on the blue side and cold on the red!
Also, booking direct with the hotel will save you money!"

"Hotel room good, staff excellent, had a great time, only thing is we lost all our photos, but have wonderful memories.
Pool is close to most rooms, bar too, food was very good we felt like they really liked having us there.
Situated in the best spot close to shops beach, internet available. A lovely family hotel.
We would have no hesitation revisiting. Hi to all there."

Where's the hot water!
"We booked independently to stay at the "Magic Tulip" as we had seen the hotel on previous visits and as it was located near to the seafront, we thought we would give it a try - what a mistake !!
We had arranged to stay there through a Turkish friend who negociated a discount of £5 per night and had asked for an upper floor room.
On arrival we were told the discount was only £3 per night and were given a ground floor room [ good start ] They did give us an upper room the next day. On entering our new room we noticed that the shower door was hanging off it's runner and if opened would have fell off. A young man came with his screwdriver and fixed it. On trying to take a shower there was no hot water. I went donstairs to find out if there would be any hot water later on and was told it would be fixed tomorrow ! We got hot water ONCE during the following six days of our stay.
The staff attitude changed after we complained about it and they ignored us after that. They seemed to spend most of their time sat at the bar. We did ask for two extra pillows on the first day - we are still waiting !
To be honest We would't go back there for free.
If you do stay here, do so with a tour company , at least you will have someone who will listen to your complaints."

"The Magic Tulip has a small, pretty outdoor area with some shade and a decent pool and poolside showers.
The buffet breakfast is good and ample.
It's conveniently located in Olu Deniz for the restaurants, shops and beaches.
However the rooms we saw were very basic but clean, with a terrible shower with only COLD water that did not get fixed for the whole of the week, although we complained throughout.
The only hot shower we had was by the poolside. The shower also flooded the whole of the bathroom and every time we went to the toilet we had to paddle in!
If any couples expect privacy, don't go, because the neighbouring rooms can hear everything if you are in the lower floors. The room spoiled the holiday.
Olu Deniz can provide you with any holiday of your choice, what-ever you want to do you can.
The beaches are wonderful although the water in the lagoon is not as clear as you would think. Clean yes, but clear no. It is a very lovely spot though and the surrounding area is spectacularly beautiful.
There's also plenty to do - paragliding, diving, good restaurants and some good trips including an excellent cultural 2 day trip which is superb value in all respects.
We would go to Olu Deniz again but to another hotel.
Olu Deniz rates 11/10, the hotel location, outdoor seating and breakfast 8/10 but the hotel room only 2/10."
