not going back
"we booked to go to the karbel and got told 1 week before they had overbooked ( which we now believe they do all the time to get the karbel beach hotel booked up too )
we knew of 4 other party's in that 2 weeks that had booked to stay at the karbel an had been told they could'nt.
staff miserable, not friendly or helpful.
breakfast not worth getting up for, food just terrible, no choice, no vegetarian dishes, very quiet,no entertainment, we had 2 teenagers they were bored when we were in the hotel.
the best place to go there is the enjoy karaoke bar, food great, friendly staff, entertainment fantastic, really good night!! recomended.
as for the hotel we will not be going back there!"

"Block 1 rooms have not been refurbished yet. They are very very very basic. The maids know how to get a good tip, they sculpture your towels and leave fresh flower arrangements on your bed once of twice during your stay. However, had I known that they had swiped my two new beach towels on our last day, which were hanging up to dry at the pool and thankfully a guest saw them taking them I would not have tipped them at all. The staff in the dining room are really nice and can't do enough for you. The food is a bit boring after the first week, infact it is not too good atall. Across the road is the Blue Star hotel which has fantastic food and if I return to Olu Deniz again, I would probably stay there instead. Be prepared to be ripped off at Dalyan Airport, a small bottle of water is 11 times more than it is in the resort. Although this report sounds negative, we did enjoy our holiday and think that Olu Deniz is a gorgeous little resort and the Turkish people are very friendly."

Simple things go a long way!
"Just returned from a two week stay at the Karbel Beach Hotel. The hotel room was always clean and everything (especially the bathroom) seemed to be newly installed which was nice. The pool area was beautiful with goregous surrounding of mountains. The pool although busy never got to overcrowded or too noisy.
Breakfasts were basic but ideal. The only negative thing about our stay was the staff. Unless you paid to go to the BBQ or ate in their 'a la carte' restaurant they were extremely rude. It would have been nice to at least have a smile and a good morning welcome each day but instead they looked right through you and ignored you. They seemed put out that we were wanting to eat in the fantastic restaurant (Hotel Blue Star) directly opposite but that was simply because the staff were so polite and welcoming and the food was beautiful.
I would recommend a stay at the Karbel beach but don't expect a welcome or goodbye! "

"After a very rocky start to our 2 week holiday in Olu Deniz, we found the Karbel Beach Hotel to be fantastic! We were actually booed to stay in the Karbel (the Karbel Beach's bigger sister) and after a 4 hour delay from Gatwick arrived at the Karbel very tired and in time for breakfast. We checked in, signed the registration docs and recieved our payment card only then to be told that we were staying at the Karbel Beach. With that we were carted off in a car and dumped down the road! Our first impression of the Karbel Beach was that it looked very tired and scruffy. We were taken straight to our room which was very clean and tidy. We had breakfast followed by a well deserved nap until we were due to meet our rep. Our rep was just as confused as us about the move and had even gone to the karbel to meet us as no one told her we had been moved. She was very helpful and said she would try and get us moved back within 2 days.
However, after the initial shock was over and after spending our first 2 days at the hotel we started to realise we may have been a bit hasty. When our rep said we could move back to the Karbel we declined.
We loved our 2 weeks at the Karbel Beach, the room was always left clean and tidy, the cleaners worked incredibly hard. The staff were all very friendly and always had a smile on their face. We were half board and the food was always good, there was also a nice snack menu at lunchtimes (for those lazy days when we never left the pool). The pool was always clean and there was never a fight to get a sunbed.
The hotel was down a quiet street only 2 mins from the beach and if you wanted the night life it was only in the next street, where we ventured most nights! We went on many of the excursions on offer, most booked through our new friend Ahmet at Galaxy, jeep safari, dalyan boat trip and paragliding to name a few.
This was my first time in Turkey and after a worrying start had an amazing 2 weeks! I would definately recommend the Karbel Beach and we're already looking to book again next year!
Thanks to the Karbel we found our ideal hotel at the Beach!!

Karbel Beach hoitle
"After staying at Karbel Beach hotel at Olu Deniz for two weeks I can say how amazing it was. The rooms were really nice and the hotel is located with stunning views and only 100 metres from shops and about 2-3 minutes from beach. The staff were brilliant and always made sure that you were having a nice time there. The food was really nice and there are facilities in the hotel like a nice sized swimming pool, a bar and snooker table and ping pong table. There are plenty of things you can do around Olu Deniz like go to the beach, a bit of shoppings and if you want paragliding! Don't let any bad reviews put you off as I can say it is one of the best hotels I have ever been to.

dont go to the karbel beach
"Myself and my Husband returned from a two week holiday at the Karbel Beach Hotel on the 22nd May, to start with when we booked with First Choice, we believed we were booking into a 4 star hotel, with 3 pools, a la carte restaurant, and all the other mod-cons you would expect of a hotel relating to the 4 stars.
We arrived at 3.30 am so did not really see any of the surrounding outside area, when we awoke in the morning, we were very suprised to find ourselves in this rather "budget" hotel, on our first morning we came down to breakfast, rather shocked, chips for breakfast and piles of bread, this continued for the next 2 weeks, no variance at all in the food, oh I tell a lie, we had omelette one day, and like every other day, the choice of stale cornflakes.
we asked when the rep was coming as we were not very happy, the staff were miserable, the food was awfull, and the receptionist had to be the worst of all, he most definatly belonged in a detention camp, and not in a hotel dealing with customers, unfortunatly no rep came to our hotel, we were informed you had to go to the Karbel.
To cut a very long story short, we spent 2 weeks of hell in this hotel, our windows and door did not close correctly so my husband got attacked by every insect, at one point he could not open his eyes, he had so many stings on his eyelids.
we were moved to another room, after finding a rep at the Karbel but this proved even worse, the plumbing was not adequate and we had all the smells from the toilets below us, I have to say the smell of sewerage in your room is not that appealing. we kept asking for top sheets and an extra pillow, but this alslo proved in vain.
If you want a holiday where you get told to be quiet and sent to bed as the barmen wants to go home at 11pm, bitten by insects from the covers in your room, which dont get washed, to live on chips and boiled eggs for breakfast, have staff dealing with you, that never crack a smile, and not sleep due to all the noise from the surrounding pubs and clubs, and really enjoy the smell of sewerage in your room, then by all means go to the Karbel beach, make sure you have plenty of money as nothing is cheap in this place, also you cannot pay by normal means, they always claim to have no change, so everything gets put on the charge card, and then you can spend the next day having an argument with the arrogant unhelpfull receptionist, questioning half the items on your bill.
I would not go back to this hotel, even if I were offered huge amounts of money, 90% of the guest who were there with us, also thought they were in the Karbel hotel, and not the Karbel Beach, and we all used the blue star hotel across the road, which had fab food, lovely staff, and a clean pool. my advice go there instead.

"Just returned after staying here for 7 days.
Will so be going back again.
have no reservations,if you get the chance to go then do.
My only advise would be to go all inclusive or at least full board,
as eating out can work out rather expensive.
The Blue lagoon is ok,but gets rather crowded.
The Beach is lovely and at night they light fires.Sun rise and sun set happen behind mountains Beautiful.
Take the truck safari to the mountains,an experience never to forget.
The hotel is spotless the pool is a little small but adequate.
Do the bar-b-q and belly dancing night,it so much fun.
Iate is several rseturants,ALL were excellent."

"I have just returned from Karbel beach hotel where I have stayed for two weeks on my own with my two children 2 and 7. Staff fantastic, rooms clean, pool small but fab and quiet. Definately reccomend it. Go to sugar beach you can get a lift from the help bar on the sea frount. Fab for kids and its free!! Dont book anything through 'bloody gorgeous' slimy rip off merchant!! Watch out some men can get aggressive if you wont buy their stuff so dont be bullied into making purchases!!"

We have hust returned from a superb 3 we...
"We have hust returned from a superb 3 week holiday in olu deniz. This was our sixth visit to this resort. We had booked to stay at the Karbel main hotel, but when we arrived there was no room available and so we were allocated a room at their sister hotel the Karbel Beach ( and how glad we were).
The hotel Karbel Beach has recently had an extentsion built aand the room we were given was the old reception. The room was for 6 people and had a seperate bed room. This was the biggest we have ever had in Turkey.
We stayed half board and had no problem with the food. There was plenty to choose from.
The Karbel Beach only has 60 rooms so there was always plenty of space and no rush for the sun beds or seats in the dining room.
The hotel rooms and the hotel itself were kept spotless and the cleaners did a fantastic job.
The staff were only small in number wich I liked. (Last year we stayed at the Asena Beach and I found that there were to many staff with not enough to do. This resulted in them coming to sit by you by the pool for hours on end. I felt i had to entertain them)
The staff were extreemly freindly and could not do enough to make our holiday enjoyable.
There was entertainment on at the hotel and I will definatley visit the Karbel Beach again.
So if you have booked to sstay in the main karbel Hotel and get put into the karbel Beach don't worry the hotel is better and you will have a fantastic holiday.

"stayed at karbel beach in june for 2 weeks with my boyfriend booked for karbel hotel but when we arrived they tried to put us in a basement room with no balconey it was like a dungeon manager said they would move us three days later but we refused to stay there so they moved us to karbel beach hotel which we were pleasantly surprised this hotel was much better and quieter the block we were put in was brand new and spotless 3 days later the manager from the karbel came to karbel beach to take us back but we stayed were we where as it was much nicer hotel we stayed for bed and breakfast but only had breakfast there four or five times it was typical turkish beakfast but food was nice and fresh only ate 2 evening meals there it was ok but better value for money in the restaurents in town. the staff in the hotel were very friendly especially omar the barman now the downside there was no entertainment in the hotel in the evenings at all apart from one turkish night which cost 30 lira each and a belly dancer for half an hour it was a big rip off so beware if you stay there dont waste your money the resort itself was lovely many rest/bars but all catered for the english nothink turkish abt the resort only the locals who were very friendly if you want a lively holiday this is not the place for you everything winds down at midnight no entertainment in any of the restaurents the beach is nice but very pebbly you need beach sandles to reach the waters edge very hard on your feet overall we enjoyed our holiday but dont think i would return simply because it was to english orientated didnt feel like i was in turkey and i have been to lots of other turkish resorts far better than oludeniz "
