Best holiday ever. worth every penny
"We have just returned on the 16th May from a weeks holiday to the pasa beach hotel in Marmaris Turkey. Me and my boyfriend (21 & 23) travelled with my sister and her boyfriend (30 & 30) and their son (18 months), a family friend (21) and her son (1), my mum (51), my Auntie (63) and her husband (62). My mum, Auntie and husband went for 2 weeks whilst the rest of us went for 1. We booked through co-op travel, it was a Thomas Cook holiday and we paid around £360 each for 1 week all inclusive including transfers. And my mum paid about £480 for 2 weeks. We were delayed by 3 hours on the way there, but got there safely and soundly at around 2am local time (their time is 2 hours ahead of ours). The hotel at first glance looked absolutely stunning, very modern and well decorated. We checked in, my mum, auntie andher husband paid an extra £300 to upgrade their room from B block to A block, They had stayed here before and preferred the rooms in A block, we all stuck with the rooms we had been given in B block. A man took our bags to our room and we met there, the room was absolutely stunning, it was very newly done up and had a brand new shower, sink, toilet, flooring, bed, wardrobes, it was all very nice. The shower was a walk in wet shower, it didnt have a bath, it was easy to use and had loads of different settings. The mini bar consisted of 2 little bottles of sparkling water, we didn't expect anything anyway. The balcony was quite spacious, it had a rail to hang wet clothes and towels, and 2 chairs and table. The room had very good air con, you got a remote and could set the temperature, it was always that cold we had to turn it off after 30 mins of being on. We didn't watch any of the TV but it was a small flat screen mounted to the wall opposite the bed, i saw it had itv4 and one of the sky sports channels, and i think it had a couple of the music channels too. The room was perfect. We stayed on the 4th floor of B block, in room 464. There is 2 lifts to get up from the entrance of the hotel. There are 2 pools, one quite big with a slide and 2 baby pools at the edge, this was the best pool, they played good music all day and played games, the best was with the water balloons they had people team up and throw them to each other, the other person had to catch it and you won a cocktail if you stayed till the end without popping it. The other pool is right near the restaurant just before the beach, it's a nice sized pool and then a seperate smaller one for babies. There were loads of places to sit or lay around the hotel, there was the restaurant chairs that are right along the edge of the hotel, they are in the sun or in shade, the sunbeds next to the smaller pool, the sunbeds and chairs all around the larger pool, there were loads of sunbeds on the hotels own private beach. Around the bigger pool, there were swing chairs, settee beds and chairs and tables with big comfy cushions on. There was always somewhere different to sit. The hotel has wifi, so if you have a phone with wifi or a ipad ect its worth taking them as you get free internet to contact home if you need to. The staff were lovely. All the waiters were polite and friendly. We met a couple of waiters and staff that we spoke to and had a laugh with throughout the holiday. Deniz is very nice and chatty. The guy from the turkish bath is a very good laugh and the photographer Mahmut. We had a Turkish bath at the one in the hotel, it was quite cheap and the staff were extremely friendly. it was the best experience ever! There were 5 of us having it done and we had our friend and her 1 year old boy there with us, they played with him and kept him occupied while we were in the sauna, then we went into a big marble wet room with a big slab in the middle of the room, 2 by 2 we would lay on the marble slab, be soaked down with warm water, there was a man and a woman and you could choose which you wanted it done by. then you would be rubbed all over with an exfoiliating mitt and then they would do a bubble soak and massage all over. Then they would wash you down again with warm water and wash your hair if you wanted them to. They loved the children and kept him occupied the whole time we were having it done. They didn't rush through it and took their time with it. I would fully recommend it. Me and my boyfriend had some professional pictures taken in the sunset from the photographer in the hotel, he took us in his car to a secluded beach and had us pose for different shots, the results were amazing, we have some beautiful pictures and an album of them all. It was very cheap to have this done compared to prices in England and the setting of the sunset just made it even better. Talk to Mahmut the photographer, he is very good. The food was alright. There was some things that tasted really good, but some things not so good. It depends what you like, the fruit and veg over there is the best ive ever tasted, it's all so soft and tasty. The bread is always soft and really nice. The kebabs are to die for. We had about 4 whilst we were there, one day the restaurant served chicken kebabs on skewers, another couple of times we got one from a little cafe in a wrap with sauce and salad and on two different nights the restaurant had donner kebab and chicken kebab. The donner kebab was a bit fatty and very meaty, the chicken kebab was beautiful. They make naan / pita bread there in front of you, sometimes with peppers on or cheese, sometimes with a bit of garlic, they were beautiful. We always found something to eat, they did chips and wedges every night and there was always some sort of bread and soup. There was usually always a casserole or stew of some sort. The food was much better than places i've been in spain and most of it was better than English food. They are very good cooks. We had fried egg on toast for breakfast with beans, they did fried eggs and omelettes cooked fresh in front of you every morning and there are lots of different cereals and bread for making toast. The entertainment was very good, they have a stage near the seating area next to the big pool. they had a Michael Jackson tribute act on one night, karaoke on another, a flame throwing dance act on. The beer is all Efes and it's very nice, there are about 4 or 5 bars around the hotel to get beer, juice and pop from. The main bar near the big swimming pool is the only one that serves spirits and cocktails. The hotel has it's own private beach, it's got a security guard that patrols it to ensure no one from outside the hotel came on the beach included other holiday makers, turkish pests and anyone that shouldn't be on there. It's nice not having to pay for your drinks and food while being on the beach, not to mention not having to pay for sunloungers or cushions (matresses) ect. You could go and spend hardly anything if you didn't leave the hotel, but what fun would that be? on the beach is a long pier type thing with all inflatables and jet skis attached, there is a little hut you go to and can go on the jet skis, banana boating ect. My boyfriend and sisters boyfriend went on the jet skis and it was 60 lira each for about 20 minutes. He said it was worth every penny. When you venture out of the hotel, on the main street don't go left, there is nothing up that way, go right and it takes you into the centre of marmaris and to all the shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. There are literally hundreds of clothes, shoes and bags shops. Barter with them on prices, you can always get them to go lower than what they say! It's all really cheap. There's a macdonalds and burger king further up. We went for an indian one night, we went to the Taj Mahal, and above it is it's sister company Mandarin Chinese. It was me, my boyfriend, my sister and her boyfriend that went. My sisters boyfriend didn't want Indian, he wanted Chinese, not a problem! He had the chinese menu and we had the Indian. It was the best Indian i've ever tried! We had the deal where you got a starter, curry, rice and drink for 40 lira. All the food was extremely good and the staff were really really friendly. It was very busy but the food came out so quickly! We got talking to a waiter and learned they had been there 16 years with the same chef who is from Bradford. If you like Indian, go here, you would love it. We went on the Quad bike safari, This was good, but if you don't like getting wet or muddy for a laugh don't go. You were driving for about an hour altogether, we left at 10am and got back at 2pm. We had a laugh throughout, you got soaked by the staff working and mud went all over you. It was real good fun though to do as a group, and we bought a DVD with all videos and pictures of us while we were driving round. I would recommend this trip, don't pay more than 60 lira each for it. We also went to talk of the town a cabaret type night, it was a drag show. For the price we got the transfer to and from the show, a meal with a drink and the show. The meal was a big chicken leg with chips, bread and salad, and a fruit sundae for dessert. Nothing fancy. I got vodka and coke for my drink but you could get the local spirit and mixer or beer. The show was really good, he took the mick out of the audience and spoke to us usually embarrassing someone. We left the hotel at 7.30, arrived at the show at about 7.50, and then left to go back to the hotel at about 11.30. Overall, the hotel could not be faulted, we had an amazing hotel made even more great by the lovely friendly people. We had been scared to death before we went, and we worrying about all the things people were saying about the turkish that they are very pushy and rude and overly pervy and crude. The ones we met weren't, we have been told it's more the centre of marmaris that is like that, we didn't see much of it but we didn't leave the hotel on the nights, during the day they were ok, they tried to get you in their shop and would say anything to flatter you but if you were just firm and said no they left you alone. I wouldn't say it spoiled my holiday in any way and i would not hesitate to return, i would just say they are extremely open, they're nice but cheeky, will say anything to get you to buy something. On the other hand they will do anything to help you, and sit you down for a drink and chat before you decided what you wanted. They were just so helpful and nice. The rooms were very clean throughout our stay. You cannot put paper down the toilet in Turkey so have bins in all the toilets to put the tissue in, we didn't find this a problem, the bin was emptied once a day, the bedding was changed and made every day, room swept, and you got 2 fresh hand towels and 2 bath towels every day, they took any rubbish away that we'd bagged up and put by the bin. The hotel has a towel service, you request towel cards from reception when you check in, and then you go to the man near the big pool in the morning, give him your cards and he exchanges them for towels, then the next morning you take your towels back and either get fresh ones or get your cards back. It's good because it means you don't have to use space in your suitcase taking beach towels and you get a fresh clean one every day. There's loads of things to see and do. We did the Quad safari, went on the Talk of the town night and we were booked in to do a boat trip over to trunch but on the day we were meant to go the weather was bad (on 3 days while we were there it rained) so the man refunded our money and we went shopping instead! The best place for trips is Charlie on the prom left as you go onto the beach. He did us a really good deal on the trips we did and we got them cheaper than the prices i'd seen elsewhere, he speaks very good English and has some lovely little tortoises he rescued. The weather was good, but it did rain on a couple of days, it would go a bit cloudy and cold, then start spitting, then it would be sunny again an hour later. The one and only thing i didn't like about the hotel was the times for food. Breakfast was 7.30 - 10. I think this would be better being extended to half 10, lunch was 12.30 - 2, which was great, but then snacks were 3-4, think this should be a bit later, snacks was burgers and buns, salad, hotdogs and chips, then afternoon tea is cakes and biscuits, this is at 5-6. Tea is not till 7.30-9 which i think is a bit late, should be a bit earlier. The drinks are served 10 in the morning until midnight which is good. I would fully recommend this hotel and really really enjoyed our stay here. I just wish i'd have gone for 2 weeks with my mum instead of just 1. It couldn't have gone any better and i will probably go back to this hotel every time i visit Turkey in the future purely because of the faultless service we received. Thank you Pasa Beach, we will be back again soon!"

Bril Hotel..food bot to our taste
"We stayed at pasa beach in prime time 2010! We are a couple in our 20s and had a brilliant time.. the only issue we had was that there wasnt enough variety of food for my partner. There was mainly pasta, chips and chicken. We ended up eating out for the second week... but it was okay considering the amount of drink we consumed during the days at the pool. The hotel is clean and tidy and with friendly staff. We had no complaints about the staff at all.. at the end of the day every holiday is what you make it.. i could stay in a rubbish hotel and still enjoy myself.. but the hotel certainly wasnt rubbish.. if you are staying as a couple or group i advise you to stay closer to bars as it is a 10min walk to bars and it is very hot.. other than that PERFECT"

What more could i ask for
"Having just returned back home from my holiday in Marmaris staying at the Pasa Beach Hotel what can i say i had a wonderful time. Having read reviews on this hotel people saying that the entertainment wasn't very good.A holiday is what you make of it yourself. The hotel was spotless, rooms cleaned every day and towels changed. Hotel staff couldm't have been any nicer to us. The animation team were amazing very friendly. "

Indifferent reception staff, cold food
"Room was in a block, nice and clean, bed rock hard but got used to it. Reastaurant staff work so hard and remain pleasant at all times. Unfortunately if you want a sunbed around the smaller pool you need to get your towels down there by 7 a.m. Also you may find your parasol disappears when you go to lunch so tie your sarong to it. The food is repetative and quite often lukewarm but pancakes and fried eggs are freshly cooked as are the chips at lunch and dinner. Beach towels are available fresh daily from the large pool and you get tickets for these at reception, but if you get a smile from reception staff thats a miracle. Nice walks to shops and along seafront. Dolmus to all areas around Marmaris very efficient and cheap and stop wherever you want to get off. This holiday would have been more relaxing if there were sufficient sunbeds and parasols available for the amount of people staying at this hotel. Also be prepared to wait quite a while for a table if you go down for dinner at 8pm. The beach is dark gravel and narrow with sunbeds crammed in although you can get to the sea between them for a quick dip. We found on the whole that all staff were friendly and helpful but reception staff need to learn to welcome holidaymakers. Good holiday would have been a great holiday if improvements were made in food temperature and more sunbeds and parasols provided"

"We did enjoy, the rooms and hotel was spotless the food ok, great area, not too far from Mamaris town, no cocktails like other A1 we have been to only the run of the mill shorts, we gave the entertainment a miss as we heard it was not worth going, we stayed away from the B block pool and snack bar a bit rowdy and rough but A block area was great to meet and make friends with other guests, balcony was the smallest we have ever had, Germans, Russians and Polish have all got the same manners, rude and pushy, same language, eh, ugh, frown, the british very sociable and friendly, we did manage to get sunbeds only because we put the alarm to go at 7 am otherwise we had to stay and watch when someone would vacate their possition, never got to know the staff but they seemed to know all the Turkish guests and the young girls, would go back as the place is now familiar to us, value for moneey? we had to go out for entertainment and for the drinks we usually drink so we can say we broke even."

"We have just come back ( 8th July -2010) from this hotel - very impressed with with it - room clean and fresh clean towels everyday - room cleaned everyday. All around the hotel there are staff cleaning up - collecting glasses and general tidying up. The food was nice - but same old - but nice. The only downside to this resort is the bar staff - god are they rude - especially in the snack bar pool area - they bar staff do not engage in conversation - do not say hi - they somethimes ignore you in the que when you know they have seen you. Shame as this really did seem to be the general comments from other guest. But it is a really nice place to stay. It is a 4 star for sure. From Scunthorpe"
