Enjoyed our stay at the Marbella
"My boyfriend and I booked this holiday as a last minute deal, wanting a relatively cheap but good quality hotel and resort. We were not dissapointed.....
Hotel: This hotel is clean, quiet and very friendly. Situated right on the beach it is a fab location.
Pool: Very clean and a decent size. Has sunbeds although by about 9am these were normally taken so we did have to get up at 8am to put towles down!! A waiter came round every so often to take bar orders.
Rooms: OUr room was clean and the free air-con was a great bonus. Had a fridge and TV which has Sky news and BBC news aswell as a few English entertainment channels. The main bad points were that even though we had a sea-view room we actually had a view of a huge tree. Also the bathroom was very small with a tiny shower.
Very pleased that safety deposit safes were available behind the reception at a very small charge (£7 for the week)
Beach: A volcanic sand beach which was OK but stony. The hotel has its own section of sunbeds which are free to use.
Staff: Very Friendly.
Food: Breakfast was OK. Was a Turkish and Continental Breakfast, not a fried egg or beans in sight. But there are plenty of restaurants close by that open early and serve traditional English Breakfasts for £3-5.
The Resort of Marmaris: The hotel is situated at the start on Long Beach Strip, which is the just outside of the centre of Marmaris. It is a perfect location. It is near enough to the strip to walk to any restaurants and bars, of which there are many, and near enough even to walk to Marmaris. At night the hotel is quiet even when the resort is bustling. Long Beach is a fab area that contains dozens and dozens of good value for money restaurants. Food was genrally good and as a popular English holidaymakers resort many resturants have English, Italian and American food. All the hotels on the beach front have resturants and evening entertainment to enjoy.
Also on the beach front there are several excursion operators. We booked the Turkish Bath and Dalyan Cruise and both of these were good value and much cheaper than the tour operators excursions. The Dalyan cruise is a must costing about £15 each. It takes you on an all day cruise stopping at Turtle Beach and Mud Baths which are great fun. It also included lunch, but no drinks which were quite expensive.
There is a large supermarket close by (5min walk) so if you are b and b like us it is great to get snacks and drinks cheaply for the rooms.
Please beware of something we were not told until the coach journey back to the airport. Apparently there are a lot of counterfeit cigarettes sold in the resort claiming to be real. However if you try to take them out of the country they will be confiscated at the airport and you will be arrested by the police. So when buying cigarettes you must ensure that they have a red/pink sticker along the side of them that have a code proving that tax has been paid on them."

"my partner and i stayed at marbella for a week but wished it was longer, we paid extra for sea veiw which was well worth the money, we just wanted a relaxing week and thats exactly what we got, hotel was nice and quiet, right on the beach, we spent most of our days at the pool it was quiet and piecefull coz everybody else went to the beach, the staff were nice, the breakfast was dissapointing tho... they catered more for other forgieners.... no fry up for us scotts :@( cereal or boiled egg, that was our choice but there was plenty other places for nice breakfast at under two pound each, hotel could do with modernisation although it was clean it could do with new shower and better fridge, plenty pubs and clubs near by if you wanted to go out, and good food, we will definatly be going back, hope we get the same room with that lovely veiw :@)) but get us a new fridge please !!"

It grows on you ..
"Our two week stay here was prompted by the positive feedback we had seen in Tripadvisor and we were looking forward to being impressed. Our first impression was some slight disappointment as the hotel was more basic than we anticipated. There was small reception area which is fine if you arrive with a small number of other people, which we did. There are no lifts, the stairs, landings and rooms are carpetted, there's no dining area as such other than outside (and therefore no air con in the 48 plus degrees heat when we were there) and the rooms are small with a tiny shower cubicle in the en suite. There's a shortage of storage space in the room as well as there's no chest of drawers for example. We were shown to our sea view room and gazed out expectantly to see a .. tree! Big, huge, very leafy tree. No sea view! We complained and were placed in an alternative sea view room with only part of the tree blocking the stunning view of Marmaris Bay. About a third of the sea view rooms are obstructed to some degree or other by this tree. Anyway, the staff are friendly, the service is good and we thought the location was ideal. Far enough from the "action" to be quiet when you need it to be - bedtime, but close enough to walk to most of the areas you might want to visit. After a couple of days we'd forgotten the few gripes we started off with and had a really nice time. The hotel grows on you and I'm hoping the tree doesn't do the same the next time we visit - which will be soon I hope. It isn't for everyone as there's no entertainment at all here but we would recommend it as a peaceful and relaxing place to stay particularly for couples."

"Just returned from Marmaris, this is the 5th time in 2 years, but 1st time in the Marbella. If you are coming to this hotel donât worry it is excellent. Great location, superb sea views, clean and safe. The hotel has a good homely atmosphere, carpets in the room is a bit strange but all kept clean. This hotel has an excellent location right on the beach. Two doors down is Gabbyâs Place, an excellent restaurant that I can highly recommend. Nice pool too, and if you like a drink you can take your own to the pool and know one bothers you.

Nice Hotel, would recommend
"Arrived end of June for 10 days. Nice hotel, quiet and clean. Right next to the beach.
Situated between Grand Azur and Grand Ideal Hotels. Close to the Migros & McDonalds. About 10-15mins walk to the Water Park on the beach front.
All staff were very nice. Rooms were large enough and up to a modern standard. Rooms cleaned everyday and new sheets given on alternative days.
Continental Breakfast was so-so, would recommend you get there early. Finished at 10am.
In conclusion, a very friendly, clean hotel. A little out of the way, however would recommend this place to anyone."

"We spent our holiday in this marvellous hotel. It has its own beach and the staff was super. We enjoyed the meal. The table was full of fruits and vegetables. There was prepared different main course for every lunch. The table of deserts was marvellous too and full of national Turkish delights.
The room we lived in was quite spacious with the seeview. the bahroom was tidy and comfortable.
The room was cleaned every day.
So we wnjoyed our holiday in this value for money place."

one of the best holidays ever
"We stayed at the marbella for 10 days from 23rd sept to 3rd oct. From the minuite we walked into reception we knew we had made the right choice even better than we expected, everywhere is spotless, the room was great and cleaned every day to a very high standard. we booked bed and breakfast which was very good and sitting outside in the sunshine to eat was lovely. We had buffet one night and the choice was very good so many cakes!!!!!! We also had an al a carte meal which again was great. The location for the beach was brilliant no problem with beds and parasols and the service on the beach was spot on. The bar staff were so friendly and never had to wait for a drink they were great!!!! A truly great hotel! NOTHING to dislike."

"Booked the Marbella on a last minute read previous reviews which were good. Travelling with family, 2 adults, 2 kids (16 & 11) so had to have 2 x twin rooms but these were on same floor few doors away so not a prob. Friendly welcome when we arrived at 7am. reception keen for us to get fed and watered at brekfast and then sort rooms out after eating which was nice. Hotel public areas are very very clean although fixture and fittings a bit dated. Rooms are also very clean and nice fluffy towels and bed linen daily. Breakfast is also great, selection of cold meats, lovely fresh breads and pastries, cereals, fruits, etc. It is literally right on the beach you just step out of the bar and you are there! Free sun beds too. Kids ice lollys quite cheap - twister lolly 1 lira, large coke/sprite 3 lira. Prices not too bad if you eat in hotel but there are so many other places to try.
Nice pool and you can even borrow hotel's own lilo selection to use in the sea. Lilos are located by the bar just ask. Don't waste money buying like we did.
Free air con in rooms. Bit of noise outside but this seems to end around 11pm. We were told that hotel is being refurbushed next year just to bring it up to date.
Cant fault it"
