i love the melay
"just got back from the melay hotel 27th august 2009 and i am planning to book again for next year but this time for 3 weeks. 2 weeks was just not long enough. i have been to this hotel before and will continue to go back. the whole complex is perfect for families, single people and couples. the staff are 100% fantastic and will help in any way they can. they all come together as a team to ensure that all guests have the best time ever. the rooms are very clean and i could not find any faults with this hotel whatsoever. the fun and games we had with dave jarvis the entertainer and even the fun we created around the pool is fantastic. my little boy is 6 and is very shy. he joined up in the kids club and i cannot believe how it has helped him with his confidence. this is definately a hotel that i would recommend to anyone that wants the whole package. cant wait for next year to go again. the food served in the havanna is also very good and i can ensure anyone thinking of booking here to do so because you will not regret it and i can bet you will come back again. 3 cheers for the Melay and Atrium we love and miss u x"

"Just go back from 2 weeks at the Club Atrium Hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay there. The weather was brilliant , really hot , mid 40's every day. It was our first time in Turkey and we would go back .The hotel it 's self was nice and all the staff were very friendly. The entertainment either day or night was very good. Dave the Rave is nuts ! Sex Bomb another nutcase !! Our room was basic , but functional it was cleaned every day , fresh towels and bed lined every other day of the week. The food at the Havana was good and the Cuba bar was a bit noisy even thought it did not finsh until 4am. Out and about we got pestered to go on any boat trips but you just say no thank you. I would recommend you have the Turkish Bath at the hotel , really good. Overall we enjoyed the holiday and would go back to Turkey , maybe try another hotel this time."

"We went to Marmaris in Turkey, and stayed at the Melay/Club Atrium which is about a mile from the beach but was more to our liking. The hotels which have merged have very well looked after pools, a restaurant which has outdoor area with a stage which hosts different entertainers every night of the week. It also has a nightclub (The Cuba Bar) which is always empty! But is open until 4am (I think). It has a very big outside adventure playground like the ones you pay for here which is free of charge for the kids as long as mums and dads are customers. There is also a small footy pitch for 10TL (about £3) an hour for bigger brothers. The hotel is situated about a mile from the beach which isn't too bad as the beach in Marmaris is a small and rocky one anyway. I am a pool man anyway as I hate sand in my toes, so the small complex was perfect for us as all we needed was there. Across the road from the hotel was The Muyara Tour Travel Agency. Oscar pulled is in on our first day, Oscar (or 007) as is also known sold us a boat trip (many do this all over Marmaris, it can get annoying after a while) for a whopping £7 each. All you get is a full day out on a boat with a BBQ lunch (which is delish), a trip around the islands, a swim at dolphin island (we didn't see any but if they are about they go there), an hour at a private beach (a rocky one!), the chance to ride a banana boat or rubber ring tied to the back of a boat which I think is 15TL (about a fiver), and the chance to get that tan! This is one of the best days out and is an absolute bargain. Oscar also hired us a moped for about £15 a day too which we visited local Icmeler which is a few miles down the road but has a lovely sandy beach and is worth a visit. If you are into the night life you must go down to the beach front at night which is about a mile of different bars all with entertainment being provided by the staff as they are all loopy!! You can drink cocktails at 9TL (£3) each and there are lots to choose from, a bottle of local beer Efes is about a pound a pint is quite nice and crisp. We found the Santana bar a scream as they got people up on a podium and told dance for the crowd :-). We found Bar St accidentally when hammered but it's easy to find if you have vision. Bar St is aptly named because it's full of bars and clubs, we enjoyed Back St (club) as the music was very bouncy and happy and the DJ was good and was up for it. You can't go to Turkey and not have a Turkish Bath. You will love this and need to have one. First of all you sit in a sauna room for 20 minutes, then you are scrubbed with a luther glove to rid you of all dead skin. Then you are cleaned down with bubbles and massaged to ease you. Then you dry off and have an oil massage which relaxed me so much I fell asleep while waiting for my partner to be done. It's so relaxing and you feel great afterwards, but don't go it you are burnt it hurts. Go early in the holiday as apparently tanning the fresher skin can help prolong your tan for up to 7 months. In general, our holiday to Marmaris earned a fantastic 10/10. The Turks can't do enough for you and are very friendly indeed. They can be a pain at times because you get pestered ALL the time, but you learn to live with it, just be polite and say no thanks and 95% of the time, they will leave you alone, if you start talking to them, you can be kept ages! "When we arrived we were told that the club attruim appartments and the hotel melay had merged together. This was not in the brochure and caused lots of confusion. The room was large and was spotless, cleaned every day. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Complex was compact and swimming pools very clean. Kid's clubs we very well organised, lots for then to do. They also had very large enclosed play area, next to the restaurant area. The restaurant Havana was clean but decor could be improved. Also there's the Cuba Bar in the centre of the complex. But don't go there if you actually want to get any sleep, while your on holiday. Our room was about 3 meters from the boundary wall of "the Sultan apartments" and every day from 2pm until 1or 2am, they have an open air disco, music going full blast. But on one occasion it went on until 3am. So if you have young children, beware. Marmaris itself was wonderful, very friendly and lots to see and do. But if youâre going to turkey don't exchange your money in the UK, as you get a much higher rate in turkey. We exchanged £200 before we went and if we'd waited and exchanged in turkey we would have got 60 Turkish, more. Market is great and some bargains to be had. But be careful on your return journey as airport is very strict on your luggage weight only 20 kilos. Many on our flight had to pay for there excess weight, one lady was charged over £65 some more had to leave the suitcase as they had no spare cash."

"This was my third time staying in Marmaris, first time at the Melay (previously staying at Club Atrium and Club Julian) and, once again, everything was great. The hotel room was kept lovely and clean, towels and sheets changed regularly. The only thing that really needed replacing was the bath, which is why Iâve given a 9 instead of 10 overall rating. The hotel staff once again were very helpful and couldnât do enough for you. Praise must go to Mustafa and Lorraine(customer care), waiters Kev (bless him), Mustafa, Alex, Ahmet and the others (sorry couldnât remember all your names!). They all work so hard, and such long hours. Entertainment was good but a bit heavy on the karaoke, three times during the week. Once would have been enough! Shame is, Iâve now got to wait another 46 weeks before I go back. Roll on next September! "

"The room in the Melay Hotel was very disappointing, shower curtains dirty and bath needs renewing. The apartment was cleaned regularly though. No other facilities whatâs so ever in room, not even a brush. The staff at the Melay were great and friendly, and helpful. The resort its self comes to life at night, with a good variety of shows for all. The pool areas are great , and very safe for the children, you have the use of two Hotels, the club atrium next door. Marmaris town centre is a very short bus ride at a cost of about 50p and are very frequent. Marmaris its self is very beautiful and would recommend the jeep safari to see more. Advise you not to take anything you want to keep dry or ruined as these safaris are meant for all out war with other jeeps, water guns, bags of water anything you can get your hands on. Marmaris is a very busy town and you will be pestered at every shop, restaurant , or travel booths, a polite no thank you usually works. The cruises are great fun and ideal to top up your tan. They take you all over the bays with plenty of stops to swim in the sea. The cruise lasts all day so choose a good boat with plenty of shade as it can get very very hot indeed up on the top. All in all we enjoyed our time in Marmaris and our resort was a nice distance away from all the noise. The airport was horrific on our return, and the Turks at the airport were very rude and ignorant. We may go back to Turkey but perhaps not Marmaris. "
