"Arrived Club Amaris in Marmaris after an easy pick up from airport, very efficient, around a 2 hour journey but you get a stop on the way for toilets & a drink etc, arrived at hotel where we had booked a 1 bedroom apartment however when we got to our room it was a studio but have to say they were really good & we got an apartment the next day, then the rain poured thunder & lighting very bad got up in the morning & the bedroom was flooded, however went & told them was dried up straight away apparantly the french doors in the bedroom had,nt been closed properly & the rain blew in wet feet in getting out of bed.however after the storm weather was great, hotel very friendly they can,t do enough for you but we as a couple felt a bit left out as it seems that a lot of people who go there go year after year they know all the staff stay up drinking & talking & getting louder & louder into the wee sma hours which is fine your on hol but the way the hotel is built you hear every noise every word it,s like an echo chamber not only from the bar but the rooms & the hotel Maric next door, the sister hotel plays music all the time, noisy,Plenty sunbeds tho a sign saying not to book your sunbed was ignored & I saw people putting towels on beds at 7 in the morning & some people dropping towels to staff & they put the towels on the beds so if you wanted to go to the pool & was a bit late tough you had had it.Lot of English & Dutch a few Germans, but a very clean tho basic hotel although I don,t think Turkey has the same standard rating as here I think they,re 3 or 4 stars would rate about one here think it,s the same in most hotels, saying that a very good clean very friendly hotel don,t think we,ll go back to Turkey as never go to same place twice but would highly recommend it for cleanliness, friendly & good location,10 mins to town centre & beach."

my Marmaris experience
"just back from Marmaris stayed at the Club Amaris Apartments we had booked an apartment but got a studio however gave us an apartment next day place basic but very clean staff excellent very friendly bit noisy from the Maric Hotel next door otherwise very good, enjoyed Marmaris itself however being slightly older think would have preferred a quieter resort, food excellent in all the places we went never had a bad meal, they don,t hassle you very much,we were in Luxor Egypt last year & that was hassle so found Marmaris nothing really, the market in Inclemar on a Wed is very good, very busy but better than the Marmaris market only 2 lira on the local dolmus to inclemar from Marmaris very handy mode of transport. The lazy day cruise which is all inclusive is very good as is the trip to Dalyan which incorporated the mud baths (a must do great fun) a trip up the river past the tombs & on to Turtle Beach which is a beautiful sandy beach it,s a long trip but well worth it.apart from the rain & thunder storms the first day & a half then the weather was hot about 38deg we thoroughly enjoyed our trip."

Club Amaris was great!
"We stayed in the Club Amaris for two weeks at the end of August. The hotel is small but lovely. The rooms were cleaned six days a week and the the towles and bedding twice a week. The hotel and bar staff were great also. There is air conditioning facilities and there are safes for a charge too. The hotel has entertainment at night including Turkish nights and has buy one get one free on cocktails from 8pm-9.30pm. The hotel also has a pet turtle called Jason!
Its about a ten minute walk away from the beach. There is a shop which can exchange money and a pharmacist less than a minute away. There is also a taxi rank near by, which charges about £2 for a taxi down to the beach.
We had a great holiday here and would thoroughly recommend it to famililes, couples and groups!"

Club Amaris - Simply Fantastic!!!
"I stayed at this hotel August 2009 with 4 of my friends. We were looking for somewhere close enough to the lively bars and clubs but that wasnt an '18's - 30's'. This hotel was fantastic for us and would suit likeminded people, or those with families or even couples. The pool area is safe and absolutely spotless, the bar and hotel staff cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. They do try to sell the special nights that they hold nightly but they are not pushy with it and are happy to recommend somewhere else to go if you fancy it. The food was the same as everything else that we found in the area...simple, nothing too fancy. If you are looking for gourmet this is not for you, but a simple pancake or fry up can easily be catered for.
The rooms are immaculate and cleaned regularly, it is also definetely worthwhile paying the extra when you arrive at the hotel for air con as it can get very hot.
One thing to note if you are planning to have visitors, the hotel have a very strict policy towards guests and they will not be allowed to enter the rooms, I met up with my cousin and her friends one night and we decided to go back to our apartments for some drinks and the night porter was having none of it. In hindsight this is understandable within a hotel that caters for families, but it is worth noting if you plan to bring visitors back to your rooms.
Other than that my friends and I have nothing but absolute praise for this hotel, the pool at the daytimes is relaxed and fun with music playing and for that reason we would not hesitate in visiting again. The hotel is also only 10 mins (max) walk from the beach...although the pool was great so we never actually made it there, but that is also where you will find a whole strip of bars, restaurants and clubs, this is also a lot cheaper and safer than venturing out to Bar Street. Our purpose for visiting Marmaris was to visit Bar Street but we were warned against it by a tonne of locals and other tourists as it is both very dangerous and expensive...the bars and clubs on the sea front did me and my fellow party animals just fine!!!"

Brilliant Club Amaris
"Just Came back from the Club Amaris in Marmaris with my husband and 8yr old and 3 yr old daughters, it was by far the best apartments we have stayed in, in Marmaris. We were treated so well by all the staff, they were excellent. The apartments were spotless and the pool, surroundings and layout were great. This accomodation is excellent for all ages and groups, can't really say enough about this place as it was all excellent. We shall def be back next year, thanks Club Amaris."

Great Hotel, Great Location
"I am the sort of person who tends to pick fault with things, but having recently returned from a 2 week stay at Club Amaris I genuinely am not able to say anything negative about the place. Marmaris was a bit of a mixed bag though, but I will start with the hotel:
We travelled to Marmaris looking for something "cheap and cheerful", so weren't really sure what to expect from our accommodation despite having read several excellent reviews on a number of sites. We were very pleasantly surprised!
We had a mini-apartment on the 3rd floor with a good sized bedroom w/ double bed, living area with the usual basic kitchen and sofa, bathroom w/ shower and balcony w/ 4 chairs and a table. All rooms have a pool view balcony (no danger of being stuck at the back overlooking the bins). The place was absolutely spotless, and was cleaned 6 days a week. Towels & sheets were changed twice a week.
We were self-catering but had lunch / breakfast at the bar quite a bit, and this was the usual burgers/pizza/omelets and all were fine. We ate an evening meal 3 times, one of which was Turkish night. The evening food was excellent, be sure to try the Turkish options on the menu. There was some form of entertainment most nights - the Capoeira show was the best, while the Michael Jackson show and Turkish Night belly dancer were poor.
It is worth noting that Club Amaris sits in a block surrounded by other similar sized hotels - while Amaris was pretty much full for our entire stay, the others looked to be half-full at best.
Location is also very good, you are less than 10 mins walk from the beach straight down a main road. This was unfortunately what I would call the "Blackpool" end of town, but you are only a 5 mins dolmus away from the Marina.
There is a local shop with friendly staff round the corner for those that self-cater, we booked 3 excursions via JayJay at Tevik Travel round the corner on the main road and all were very good, especially the day trip to Dalyan (all trips were £12 - £15 and picked up and dropped off at the office). We had a good time at Angels Inn, also on the main road to the beach - the food was good and the staff friendly.
Overall, Club Amaris offers and excellent level of service and accommodation in a very useful location.
Marmaris itself was nice for a visit, but not a place I would return to.
While there are some lovely parts to it (the Harbour, Castle area), a lot of the rest is extremely tacky Blackpool-style resort geared towards British tourists. These areas are swamped with housing-estate refugees from all over the UK, proudly sporting their national football tops and ordering roast beef for lunch in the cringingly titled Old Trafford / Ibrox / Anfield Bar. Luckily this can be avoided by getting a Dolmus either to the Harbour or Icemeler, which has a vastly superior beach compared to Marmaris' 10ft of black grit beside the sea.
We had several excellent meals at the harbour in Dede, La Fleur, Mistral and Jan de Wit. Be sure to order the Turkish specials, it's a total waste coming to Turkey and not doing so. Seafood and steaks in the above were also excellent, and reasonably priced at under £30 for a meal for two.
I would certainly recommend Marmaris for people looking to do the same as us (i.e. cheap 2 weeks in the sun, while avoiding the Euro) but I doubt we will be back next year. If you do go, it would be very hard to find a better hotel than Club Amaris."

"We stayed in a studio apartment - there is one big room containing a bed (double), wardrobe and small kitchenette area. The room was a good size with plenty of storage in the wardrobe which also had 4 drawers and room on top to store our suitcases. There was a dressing table at one side of the bed and a bedside table at the other.
The kitchenette was as you'd expect - 2 ring cooker, fridge/freezer, cooking utensils and a kettle.
There was a table and 2 chairs in the room which we put outside on the balcony which overlooked the pool. From the shape of the hotel I think all the rooms have a pool view and ours got the sun in the afternoon which was great. There was also a clothes airer thing which was great for drying the towels and washing.
The rooms were really clean when we arrived and the maids came every day to make the beds and empty the toilet bin, which was great. Our bathroom didn't have a window so it got really warm so I'm glad they came every day.
The towels and sheets were changed once in the 7 days. We didn't leave the towels in the bath until they needed changed so they might have been done more. The bathroom had a half bath, toilet and sink. All very clean.
The apartments have a pool bar/restaurant and they seemed to have entertainment on most evenings. We didn't go to them as it's not our thing but they had belly dancing, Turkish night, break dancers etc. The music has to be turned off between 12 - 12.30pm which isn't unreasonable. I ate in the pool bar twice and the food was good.
We rented Air Conditioning for a week which cost £25 for a week. It hit 37 degrees when we were there so we needed it. We also hired a safety deposit box for £12. I think we paid in Lira (Approx. 75YTL) so whatever the equivalent was.
Location wise - We thought it was great, it was possibly a 20-25 minute walk to the harbour where there are a lot of restaurants but it's a nice walk past shops and the promenade etc. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by but as we've been to Marmaris before we knew where we were heading. It's close to the Old Trafford Bar (if that's your thing!).
We headed to Icemeler Beach every day and it was less than 10 mins walk to the main road where the Dolmus runs. A dolmus is 2YTL each to Icemeler.
My only negative comment about Club Amaris is the apartments next door! It's called the Baris Aparthotel and because of how Club Amaris is built it is open at the back and overlooks the pool and bar area of the Baris. One night we were woken at 2.30/3am by lots of people in the bar next door, there was no music which was fair enough but there was a girl shouting and singing by herself. Obviously everyone is on holiday so we didn't say anything at the time. When I mentioned it to the reception staff they said that they always get complaints and often ask the Baris to keep the noise down. It's certainly not Club Amaris fault but I don't think I would recommend these apartments to parents of young children as they might get woken by the noise from next door.
It's also quite annoying when Club Amaris is playing music at the pool/bar in the evening, so you can hear that from the front of the room but out the back there's a mini rave coming from Baris which was always louder!
There were several nationalities including Dutch and British staying in the apartments.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The pool area was cleaned every night and the pool itself was clean.
Finally the maids leave an envelope for a tip at the end of the week - It didn't offend us as we would have tipped anyway. They also made different shapes out of the towels a couple of days which was funny!!
Overall a good place to stay. I have rated it as average when compared to other accommodation in other cities/countries but if compared to Turkey it would probably have got an 'above average'."

Excellent Club Amaris
"Club Amaris is a relatively small but well kept and clean apartment complex.
Situated @ 10 min walk from the beach, location is excellent.
The pool area is spotless, the bar is excellent, with plentiful supply of sunbeds and no issues with reserving sunbeds, the pool is of a good size.
Reception, Bar Staff, Porters and security all all very friendly and willing to help you out with anything, Ercon and Ozcan at the bar are particularly attentive and friendly.
The complex was a previous Thompson Holidays complex, and are still used by the TUI group, whilst there were lots of brits there, predominatly the hotel is used by the Dutch, however they were friendly and extremely well behaved. Remember there are only 36 rooms, so at most 120 odd guests if full.
Upon arrival, 2 of our rooms were occupied, we had 3 1 bed apts, and some of our party had to spend the 1st night in the Club Maric(sister hotel) next door, however, the hotel manager was excellent, he promised us rooms on the ground floor together, right next to the pool area, this was fanstastic and worked really well for us, I was also given free air con for the week.
Food in the hotel bar was excellent and compared well with the other restaurants in the surrounding area.
The only downside for me was lack of entertainment during the day and night, the pool area was never crowded and at night the bar area was relatively quiet therefore the entertainment was usually cancelled, not too bothered as usually out, but the kids can get bored if there isn't much going on at the pool in the day.
Rooms were spacious, clean, two single beds and a pull out double sofa bed, fridge, cooking stuff, air con(extra charge), bathrooms was of a god size.
Rooms cleaned avery day.
Would recommend Club Amaris for couples who want a chilled atmosphere and close to town and happy to go self catering, ok for families providing you are not looking for lots of daytime entertainment.
Out and about, recommend the barber for a shave(next to sultan maris) 10 ytl excellent, Matty's for a meal(excellent food), lots of restaurants on way down to karacan point offering free kids meals, 2 4 1 drinks etc, 9 of us(6 adults and 3 kids) were eating and drinking for over 2 hours for @ £100 between us, excellent value for money(fillet steak, fajitas etc)
Shopping excellent, the usual fake t-shirts, footy tops, recommend the old town, didn't find we were in any way hassled.
£, Euro and $ are widely accepted, take some turkish lira, but pay in above currencies when shopping as better rate, also when changing money, try the supermarkets, i was offered 2.15TYL to £, which was well above other rates we found.
Another great holiday in Marmaris, and a great find in the club Amaris."

"From the time we arrived to the day we left , nothing but enjoyable.
This was our first time together in Turkey and it could not have been better.
The location is central , only about 7 lira in a taxi to the harbour centre or using the No 3 Dolmus 1 lira.
This hotel had everything from well maintained clean rooms to friendly and efficient staff and the food served all day and night was of excellent value and standard.
On arrival we were given a quick cheery welcome then shown to our room , all overlooking the pool area , we had already guessed that we would need air conditioning (40c in day about 25c - 30c of an evening) this was reasonably priced at £20 per week and well worth it , we also made use of the safe £10 per week and late check out £10, which was a godsend on our last day.
The pool and pool area were the cleanest i have ever seen at holiday apt's , cleared every night and transformed into a dining and show area.
We paid about £900 for the two of us in a 1 bedroom apartment through Thomson holidays for a fortnight which we thought was great value.
Too much to write down but hopefully an insight to a fantastic place and an excellent hotel/apt ."

Loved Club Amaris!
"I went to Turkey for the 1st time in august 09 with my sister and my cousin and we stayed at club amaris. The location is brilliant, only a ten minute walk to the centre. The staff are excellent and very friendly, Eric is the funniest guy ever! the rooms were very clean- the maids make shapes out of the towels they were made into chickens and swans! air conditioning is in the bedroom and the safe is at the reception both of which you can hire. we got sunbeds for 3 people every day easily and the pool was a good size. We ate at the hotel most of the nights and the food was good. if your planning to go on trips go see jay-jay at the tetik place near the hotel, we went on the day boat trip and it was great, you get an wxcellent tan and the boat stops about 6 times so you can swim in the sea or walk around at the market, we also went on the night boat which was good too and went to the water park. You have to eat at the hotel next door and talk to shaggy and curly, they great guys! we went out to pubs and clubs at the front which were good - cheers, baran and the beach club.
we have been home a month now and we are all still missing turkey especially Eric and his banter!!
we werent sure about going to turkey but it was an excellent holiday and we will defo be going back to stay at club amaris!"
