quality turkish hotel
"I have visited this hotel on several occasions and stayed in it for two holidays, it has recently had the rooms refurbished and now include fridge/mini bar and tv at no extra cost. The staff at the hotel are very friendy and efficient without bieng intrusive. The hotel is situated on a hill between the town centre and ladies beach the hill can prove to be a little to much for elderly, dolmus (mini bus) runs to both centre and ladies beach from the main road and both are about a 20 min walk. the food at the hotel is very good with a good turkish breakfast (dont expect full english this is turkey) this is a family run hotel and has a friendly feel, it has a two pool areas with views over the sea, the pool areas are on two levels the lower level is a family pool with water slides and fountains etc. the upper level is a adult pool and is usually nice and quiet. The rooms over the pool all have good sea views and a small balcony and are worth requesting when booking . Overall this is a above average family run turkish hotel, nice owners and staff, good food and pool and reasonable rooms, Dont think its the ritz but its far better than other hotels of this standard and price that i have stayed in in kusadasi ( and i have stayed in a few ) my family love this hotel."

kusadasi, very nice shame about the lion hotel
"we have been to turkey many times in the last couple of years, and kusadasi is a very nice place but the lion hotel was not a good place to stay. The hotel was dirty and although the place is good for children trust me dont let them swim in the pool we had 2 children in our party both went down with ear infections with there parents. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly but the general state of the place was very poor. We witnessed some guests turning up at the hotel only to say were not staying here, we were only there for one week so it didnt bother us to much. Trust me the lion hotel should be rated 1 star."

They couldn't have been more friendly
"We have just returned from Club Lion Hotel in Kusadasi. Me, hubby, son - 7, son-5 and our friends - a family of three. We'd read on here and similar some not farily dodgy reports so were a little dubious on our arrival. However we were thrilled with what we got. Our inter-connecting rooms were clean and spacious (if slightly lacking in storage space). The air con (payable locally) was a must and worked wonders even if the temperature never fell below 30oC on a night. The hotels pools were great for the kids - there are 3. One for toddlers with play apperatus in, a kids pool with the slides - which are great fun - that is only a metre deep so great for none swimmers and the higher pool for swimming rather than messing about in. The bar offers everything you could need both food and drink wise. They operate on a card system where you put money onto a card and spend that rather then having to take money down to the pool side. Reception was open 24 hours and were very friendly and helpful. There is internet access and a Sauna/Turkish Bath too. There is a lift as there are 5 floors in the hotel The hotel waiters and entertainers really made this holiday for us though, they were fantastic with the children and us. It felt like big family and we have exchanged email addresses so the children can keep in touch. They all came to wave us off when we left which is not something I've ever experienced before. The hotel is located on a hill so whichever way you go - Ladies Beach or Kusadasi town it's down hill to get there and the Dolmus buses which you can stop at the side of the road are about 80p to get back up - well worth it on an evening. All in all we had a great experience and enjoyed the holiday very much."

"Just back from 2 weeks at Hotel Lion. Travelled with my 7 year old who had such a great time we are going back next year. Prior to arriving i was concerned about the distance from the town as i was travelling alone with a child but we either walked it or jumped on the dolmus. Neither was a problem. Yes there is a hill but its well lit and easy enough with a great view. All the staff were great and tried hard to accomodate any request. The pools and slides were fantastic for my daughter who spent the whole time in both. The room was cleaned every day and the areas around the pool were washed down every evening. We had minimal hassle from shop keepers however we were in the town quite early every evening so maybe that happens later on into the night. When someone did try to entice us in i politely smiled, said no and kept walking. No problem at all. Not the best for beach lovers but if you can handle a walk or dolmus ride to the beach then thats okay to. That was my only disappointment - Ladies Beach. Not as nice or as large as i expected. However the sea was great and you walk out without it going past your knees for quite a way. Perfect for small ones. As i put previously we will be going back next year. Infact this will be the first year i have returned to the same area as i like to try new places every year - so it certainly impressed me. A special 'thankyou' to Mehmet (marco) and to Messi for making our holiday so special. "

Ideal relaxing holiday , great for family.
"Spent a week in the Hotel Lion in May. Travelled with my sister and two nieces aged 21 and 8 yrs. It was our first time in Turkey. The hotel had only opened a week earlier so we were a bit early in the season and the entertainment only started the week we were there. But on the nights there was entertainment it was good. We had a great time in the hotel, the staff were excellent and made us most welcome. The hotel was very clean and the pools were spotless. We had a family room which consisted of two rooms with an adjoining doorway. Unfortunately we did not request a change to a pool/seaview but spent such little time in the rooms it really did not make any difference to us. Rooms were cleaned every day , there were fresh towels every day. The pools were very good and the slides in the lower pool got lots of use. We had the Turkish bath which was very relaxing. The food and service was very good and on our last day the manager Oz even went to the market to get us Sea bass for dinner. Thanks to all in The Lion for making our week so enjoyable."

Great week in the sun
"My wife and I have recently returned from the Lion Hotel Kusadasi Turkey after spending a great week in the hotel. We went away at short notice not knowing anything about the hotel, but knowing the area very well as my sister in law has a house in Kusadasi and we have been there many times. The plan was to go to Kusadasi and if the hotel was no good to stay in my sister in laws house. We should not have worried as the hotel was great . When we arrived we were hoping for a room with a view of the pool and sea but were giving a room a t the back of the hotel . We asked if we could be moved and were told that we could move in the morning after Breakfast which by the way was grand .After breakfast there was no problem moving and the new room we got was ideal, overlooking the pool and also the sea with air conditioning which was free. When you arrive you get a card which you use instead of money at the bar which is open 24 hours or the restarant or any of the other services provided ( Massage Hairdressers etc. ). You can pay what you owe each day, leave money on the card or pay at the end of your stay which ever you prefare. There is two main pools and also a paddleing pool for babies. The food is very good but a little bit dearer than you will pay in most places in the centre which is about 5 minutes in the local dolmis and ladies beach is about the same distance away.the staff are very helpfull and friendly, the rooms were clean and maintained throughout the week very well and overall we had a great time. Will be back."

In all the hotel was not to a bad standa...
"In all the hotel was not to a bad standard, rated at three suns. Air con is charged at 15.00 GBP per week which seemed a bit steep.I would expect this to be free in a warm climate. Generally we had issues with the staff, a low percentage of them understood English, and this made it difficult to communicate our issues. The resort area was slightly isolated, using the local taxi was best costing around 4.oo GBP from hotel to resort centre, however beware, taxi drivers on the roads are a law to themselves. The main resort became a pain after a few days, the constant calls from the shop keepers asking the same old questions and using highly strung methods to get you into their boutiques. No is not always good enough. Best tip is to avoid eye contact with shop owners if possible."
