fantastic for kids
"This is my second visit to this hotel.and this year was better than last year.the villa we stayed in was large 2 rooms 2 a/c fridge tv.great sea view. food was alot better than before and was good. the best thing about this hotel is the pools and slides.there is one slide pool for kids that has a boat with lots of slides coming off and is oped all day and will keep kids happy for hours and hours.then there are the large slides that will keep the kig kids and adults happy.around 9 pools .next to a lovely sandy beach.you will have a great holiday if you have small or large kids."

Excelent holiday with Carpe Diem...I would come back anytime
"First of all, me and my friends got to Carpe Diem by chance. We were supposed to stay at Pine Bay but they hadn't the rooms we paid for so we moved. By the way, if you are looking for bad services you can choose Pine Bay (the worst ever).
Coming back to Carpe Diem...it was a dream. Starting with the reception staff, they were very friendly and warm and they gave us rooms according to our requests.
There were very nice rooms, furnished in a modern style. The girls from housekeeping cleaned the room every 2 days, but if the sign requesting cleaning was on the door they came every day. And they changed towels every day. The minibar was ok and enough, and they would refill it every day. If you had the DND sign on the door they wouldn't come in to disturb you. Also the laundry service is ok.
The main restaurant where they serve the main meals is huge. You could always find a free table (and we were a big group). There was food for everybody, different types, even for the ones that are on a diet. For the ones that eat meat a lot, there was a large variety of chicken, lamb and beef. The one missing was the pork, but we can all live a week without pork.
On Friday we had for dinner only fish dishes and you had where to choose from.
As for the a la carte restaurants, we went to the East European and Italian ones. They were ok.
If you would miss a meal you could always find a snack. The drinks were available all day long...on the beach, near the pools. So it was more than ok.
The staff was very friendly. Everywhere you went and met them, they would smile and greet you.
The Animation staff was very friendly. Everyday at breakfast they would come and greet everybody. After that, you had where to choose from: darts, fitness, aqua gym, water polo, achery, air gun and so on. Also, every night they had a theme party. You couldn't get bored there.
Really, it was great! I would come back at Carpe Diem anytime!"

Great hotel for kids but...
"We had a great time in Carpe diem despite bad service. Our impression is that the hotel was in a hurry to open quickly and hired a staff that is not experienced. As others already wrote it is a 4 star hotel with a 2 star hotel service. Everything was quite chaotic. Some of the waiters are very good but some of them are really a nightmare. The problem is that some of them do not understand English or German or French or Russian and the only means of communication is your hand. The cook and the waiter in a miniparadise were awful not showing any interest in their work contrary to those who were in the beach bar - the both guys were very nice and friendly. The waiters in the a la carte restaurants Piscis and Horizon were also great, friendly and spoke good English. The barkeepers during the day were awful - the girls were not able to prepare your cocktail properly. I had to tell them they should add ice and should shake the cocktail in a shaker...When you order "martini coco", please make sure that the girls mix the milk with instant coffee and not with the gound coffee as they did... The barkeepers in the evening were good. It takes ages to resolve your problems - it took 3 days to get our airconditioning repaired and it took more than 3 hours to get towels which the cleaning lady forgot to exchange.
The hotel area is very big, quite a lot of stairs but we liked it believing we would loose some weight gained over the holidays. The food was very good. The food in Horizon and Piscis a la carte was really great. The food in Vinea a la carte restaurant was ok but the portions were too small. The snacks during the day are OK but more variatey of fruit (only melons) and salads would be appreciated. We loved grilled fish at 15.00 in Piscis and gozleme crepes. The strange thing about the hotel is that you get ice cream only once a day at 16.00 close to Horizon. This fact resulted in long long queues. You had to wait like 15-20 minutes to get almost melt ice cream. No ice cream for diner or lunch.
Our kids loved both aquaparcs. The miniaquaparc is very close to the sea which allowed us to easily combine the sea and the kids pool. The beach is sandy but quite muddy in the area close to the miniparadise and showers. The miniclub is well equiped but the animators could be a little bit more forthcoming and friendly, some of them were very nice but some of them did not show too much interest. It was a pity that the programme of the miniclub was not known in advance. The minidisco was fun, our kids loved it. The evening animation porgramme was ok. We liked a Jeanny jango show prepared by the animation team - they are all great dancers, amazing!
We booked a family room with a sea view in the main building. The view is really amazing but you pay the price - the open air disco loud music till midnight. The room is very modern but suitable for small kids only as both kids have the legs in the same bed. The beds are extremely hard. The cleaning service is ok but we were somehow astonished that my parents in the 4th floor got not only a shampoo and a hairconditioner but also a lotion, after sun lotion and a shower gel. Our cleaning lady was not that generous. It is a minor thing but you just wonder why there is a difference between the floors. Our vanity box was empty whereas theirs was full (pads, a cumb, etc.).
Despite all these smaller/bigger problems we liked our stay in Carpe diem. If you have already booked, do not worry, you will have great holidays."

Great facilities, shame about the food.
"We stayed here for 8 days and had mixed feelings about the place. The facilities, i.e. the water park, the mini paradise and the main pool were excellent. The lifeguards were fantastic and were really doing their job well. The appartment we had was spacious with plenty of storage but unfortunately the cleaning was not done properly, we had an empty drinks can under our bed when we arrived that remained there the entire stay! The floor was never mopped and on two occasions the free mini bar was not restocked.
The three restaurants we tried, farina horizon and vinea were all good, food tasty and service efficient but you can only go once to each and getting in is not easy! The rest of the time it is the buffet and this was pretty disgusting. The food was often cold and always of a poor quality. There were not enough staff so plates were not always cleared away or tables reset at breakfast. It is also huge so if you timed it badly you would have to queue for a table outside or even the food!
Despite this being all inclusive there seemed to be alot of restrictions, the water parks closed for an hour at lunch and the ice cream cart that came round once a day often ran out. The free mini bar contained lots of items you had to pay for.
Overall the place has potential but needs to sort out these hitches to make it a good resort."

Nice building, very bad services, food and animation
"I DO NOT RECOMMAND this hotel to anyone. Excepting the mainbuilding rooms which are corectly and the aquapark, everithing do not work properly:
* BAD FOOD and not diversificated. At lunch we had a lot of salads, vegetables but no meat. We had to choose only between a type of beef, fish and chicken (and it was always the same).
*Generally bad services Half of waiters, cleaning staff and even management staff DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH neither FRENCH or german. WE have done big efforts to establish a communication with them.
*Restaurants a la carte have a poor variety of courses. In fact we couldn't order what they had on the menu. They already told us that "it aldeady finished". In fact they are serving the same courses like in the main restaurant.
*The elevators are too small according to hotel capacity and they do not work generally. I have rest during an hour blocked into the elevator and hotel staff didn't do anything to escape us. We stayed with a pregnant woman, children, without air. We had lucky to have somebody in the elevator who broke a wall in order to escape us. Hotel management staff didn't do anything to solve the problem, excepting to cry at us and to ask to stay calm.
* There is NO program for cleaning rooms. So, they are entering into the rooms while you are resting or all the day. They do not ask even your permission. In fact, cleaning staff do not speak at all english, even basic, so you have to accept that they are clening even you are resting at noon or you are using the bathroom. Otherwise, they are leaving and NO CLEANING SERVICES.
*Reception staff is unpolite and they are trying to fool you. We were with other 4 families and they told us at 5 pm that they had't our rooms till 2 days after and they offer us rooms less comfortable (in the bungaloows) and of course cheaper. When we refused, because we paid for main building seaview rooms, they found rooms but two hours later. So, we have to wait a lot for having our rooms.
*Minibar was poor and they put only one coke, one beer, even we were two person. We had to ask always to refill it.
* THEY ARE NOT CLEANING the beach.
* Very poor animation. They call it SOFT ANIMATION, but we considered that we hadn't animation.
The mainbuilding rooms are nice, modern and elegants. And the pools and aquapark is wonderfull.
As a conclusion, IF YOU WANT TO SPOIL YOUR HOLLIDAY GO TO CARPE DIEM CLAROS HOTEL. IN fact, according to services, food and staff is a 2+ maybe 3*** hotel."

Not worth of your money or your time
"The only good thing I can say about this hotel is the aquapark. The rooms in main building vibrate at night time because of the disco located in the building. The rooms in villa's either overlook the sewage system, or are very far away from the main building, and the shuttle system is worse than terrible. The food is BAD. The service, worse than that. The main pools are dated, and have no toilets nearby. Everyone is peeing in the pools. You have to wait for your snack in looong queues, and what you get is much much below the average. There are barrieres around the aquapark, kids park, kids aquapark, even though it would be a 3 step walk if not for the barriers, you have to walk at least 5 minutes to get somewhere. I know 5 minutes is not very long but with small kid in tow in 40 degrees C, it is just plain torture. Shuttles? Please forget about that. House wine? Terrible. There are debris in the sea left over from the construction. and the sand is muddy. And the worse part is the management, they do not listen or try to anything."

Fantastic hotel with breath taking views
"Stayed at Carpe Diem for 2 weeks with my family and had a great time. There is something for everyone at the hotel. The kids club was great and I felt confident and relaxed knowing my kids were in good entertaining company. The food service was lovely with a wide variety at the main buffet even a special kids corner with different varieties everyday. If u wanted to sit back and relax at meal time u had a choice of 6 al la carte restaurants which we tried and each had lovely food and the service couldnÂ´t have been better. The kids pool is amazing with a pirate boat in the middle of it, the kids had hours of fun in it. Lots of day and night entertainment also with great shows everynight the staff were really good and friendly. My husband did the diving course and loved it he now has his license for diving thanks to the lovely staff who looked after him. Loads of other varieties of water sports available. I tried out the spa which is a must it was really nice and relaxing with lovely staff to look after you and loads of different treatments on offer at good prices. The room we had was overlooking the sea and was big and airy with lovely decor and nice big comfy beds. The hotel itself is amazing with different 9 or 10 bars, a disco(for the big kids), bars and restaurants for adults only, bowling, internet, games rooms, hairdressers plus loads more things. Really couldnÂ´t fault the place and I am looking forward to hopefully returning next year."

A super holiday
"The service all the way from checking in to checking out was first class On arrival a nice touch was the bottle of wine & plate of fresh fruit complimentry much appreciated after our long trip. We had a family room /apt, ample room in it with satellite tv hairdryer air con mini bar alovely sea view beautiful. The resort had all & more than we needed , well kept all around. We will be back ....... need i say more about this wonerful resort !!! with lovely helpful staff. A very very pleasant stay was had by myself my wife our 3 children aged 17 14 & 8 yrs of age"

Great for chieldren
We had a nice sea view room with wireless internet (important for me) . They have a big children area called as MiniParadise. My kids loved there. We tried 4 different restaurants espeacily italian was fantastic. Adult beach was great for who r looking a quite area. Service can be better. My wife went to SPA and she says there were fantastic but i didnt try."

Maybe some day it will be good, but not now
"We (2 adults, 2 children 9 & 6) were some of the very first guests to stay in the hotel. The first 3-4 days, we were staying on a construction site. There were more workers than guests. The food in the buffet was apparently catered, and was nothing special for a 5* hotel. The service has a lot to learn, basic English would be a good start. They do try hard though, and when you have a problem, they solve it as quickly as possible. The beach could be nice, but there were two times I found broken glass while playing volleyball, and the beach needs a good comb through, there is a lot of trash still mixed in. The water is great for small children, they are able to stand 20 meters from the shore. It is built on a hill, and there are lots of steps and hills to walk up and down, one needs to be pretty fit to stay here. The water slides opened on our last days, and it is a nice selection, they just need to be broken in. The restaurants are very good, and the service also. If you are a light-sleeper like myself, then you will not be able to sleep in too late. The beds are pretty hard and the curtains not very thick, they let the first rays of sunshine in without a fight.
One day this will be a beautiful hotel, but it is going to take some time. They opened before they were ready and this is going to hurt them at first. When I say that I wouldn't recommend this hotel, it is just for now, maybe next year I would have a different opinion."
