Kusadasi is a bustling resort town on the Aegean coast of Turkey, which has developed rapidly over the last two decades. Tourists from all over Europe decide to spend their holidays in Kusadasi because it offers something for everyone. It is by no means the traditional coastal town it once was, however, holidaymakers come here for all sorts of reasons. For some this is to lounge on the beach, for others to explore the nearby National Park surrounding the majestic Mount Mycale, or to visit the famous spot of antiquity, Ephesus.

People arrive for package holidays in Kusadasi in their thousands every year, many just for the beaches and bars. There are three beaches in the town, Lost Paradise Beach, Long Beach, and Ladies Beach, all of which are bordered by hotels and apartment blocks, so you can stay just a stone’s throw from the sea. The beaches are clean and spacious, with nearby restaurants and bars offering much needed refreshments. Take the short stroll to explore Guvercin Adasi. Known as Pigeon Island in English, and located on the peninsula at the end of the bay, this offers an old castle and quieter beaches.

Most package holiday deals are sold for the hotels in front of Ladies Beach, which is the busiest beach in the town. The resort has many great restaurants, and for the best food it is well worth eating the local Turkish cuisine. Make sure you try the falafels and kebabs at least once while staying here. A popular souvenir to take home are the mosaic rugs handmade form Turkish silk and wool, which can be delivered back to your home if you wish to buy one. There is nightlife here to suit every age group, with most of the action taking place on the aptly named ‘Bar Street.’
